I don’t really think that’s the anti cheat. Being someone who’s seen the modding community on Reddit and discord. A lot and I mean a LOT of modders are just holding off for a couple months until they fix the issue. Not only that but if you use Stand it won’t let you in the game anymore. Stand temporarily took away pink eye from the public until they find a way to bypass detection from Battleye. So if your a stand user which is the biggest mod menu on the platform you can’t even log into GTA online anymore. Give it a couple of months and Stand and 2Take are going to be able to completely bypass detection from Battleye. And the majority of the modding community will be back online with mods.

As someone who never used cheat in any game - not even to protect myself which maybe not the smartest but still - never bought shark cards, have over 2k hours in the game, lvl600+ I would happily buy shark cards or even pay a small amount of monthly subscription to be able to play a modder/cheater free GTA online game. But not in this state of the game. This is ridiculous what’s going on now.
I've had the fortune of, for the most part, meeting pleasant modders. Ones that, even tho having a God complex, would give things away, would organize street races, turn off NPC spawns, turn off warstock cars, absolutely obliterate tryhards and so on. Rarely if ever I met an evil modder but every time I boot up the game I have a slight fear my account might get deleted by them. The things a mod menu allows you to see are just downright scary.
Thank you kiddion. Your work enabled me to fight back against modders and made billions, reached level cap, and made a lot of friends along the way. I experienced GTAO as a living god and that’s something I never thought possible when my younger self played on Xbox. In a way, you really helped a young boy reach a very simple dream of having everything in this game. All the times I thought “oh what if I could afford this and that” Thank you kiddion. I will give you some Bitcoin.
i remember downloading kiddons after i saw a dude online using it. My friend made bank when i shared it to him, and i got a kosatka and some other buisnesses, it was litterally probably the only way i could get such luxuries with the amount of grind you had to do. We used to chill with others, give out free vehicles for struggling players... we even fought the KD warriors (who ironically turned out to be modders aswell, just less cool and chill). Im not saying it was a great idea, as my Steam account was compromised soon after and got me banned on rust... It really shows how GTA Online has become, that to progress as a F2P (not counting game purchase) you need to use external programs if you have a life and you dont want it to become a factorio/satisfactory optimization schmuck.
In my experience, the only thing it did was stop me from using the menu I use to protect me and my friends when we played. I was still getting fucked with on the regular. So I just ended up having to install.
Whether it's a fear factor or the modders actually being stopped by BattlEye, it's refreshing being able to play the game it was inteded to be, before the anti-cheat I myself would not touch the game without a mod menu, it was bad enough to the point where getting on without a mod menu would pose a security risk. The anti-cheat has done more good than harm, I have not encountered a modder in days now and I didn't have to worry about my IP being leaked, getting booted offline or getting DDoS, the PvP scene is healing and it's actually fun to be back again, the anti-cheat had its initial hiccups but it's a lot better now, it's by all means NOT a disaster.
@@icecoldfrosty3492 There are, bot accounts crashing lobbies but modders have much less power now than they had before, they don't mess with people directly in game, worst they do is crash the game, that's it.
@@VoxTheOwl I had a modder yesterday that teleported everyone to the beach and I agree, that one was a def bot. Another modder I encountered yesterday started making peoples cars go all over the place and made mine fly, crash (several times) and sunk it in the ocean, played loud sounds constantly in my headset, and (of course) was godmode.
GTA online on PC is so much better since the anticheat. Faster load times, less getting stuck in the black screen loop and way less people in God mode. It's hugely changed the feel of the game for the better.
Can we also mention that some Rockstar developers were in contact with Mod Menu developers, trading the game's source code for profit? I mean think of how much easier this is gonna make GTA VI a selling point, the older game is ridden with hackers and cheaters, so buy the new game that isn't filled with that yet. Cheaters make Rockstar lose money from Shark Cards, Rockstar makes money from cheaters by selling source code to them, normal players don't like cheaters so they move on from the old and in with the new.
That reddit comment from bulletfever409 @ 4:30 annoys me because it doesn't acknowledge the lesson Microsoft (& Sony) learned after the 360s security exploits (JTAGs & RGHs), there will never be console mods like that again. It simply cannot be allowed to happen again.

Dude I was banned from GTAO, I played in Invite only sessions 80% of the time and the other 20 is either doing heists or just chilling in public sessions. My account was probably flagged because I had around 200M or something around there, I never cheated on my Main, Or any of my accounts other than one I made as a joke in middle school back in 2019. I am pissed off so much because my main was banned, I was hardware banned I think and my account and my BRAND NEW MacBook, Which I paid an extra $500 for the M3 Pro, Now I can’t even play GTA with it and I was all excited and rockstar just ruins the fun. Of course now I will be modding because Rockstar bans all three of my legit accounts, And who knows how but that account I made along time ago that I modded on is still safe with over hundreds of billions of dollars, all unlocks and not even 250 hours of play time. Wow Rockstar won’t be doing well in GTA 6 probably because More modders will find workarounds even faster or have ways of bypassing it and probably use Battleye for it too unless there is a new one, which will probably be bad at first so Rockstar would have to find one of the best anticheats that detects hackers or modders better than Battleye, And banning some legit players and modders and leaving some modders okay. I don’t even know what to say I’m on lunch break but GTA 5 Battleye is pretty ass in general and definitely has flaws. Oh also, Keep in mind, You have to repurchase the game sometimes when you get banned so Rockstar still gains money from modders one way or another from Purchasing the game every time they get banned (Because most people don’t want to wait 30 days) they just go and buy another account I am guessing.
@@John.McAfees.Dead.Mans.SwitchSo me buying and modifying cars and property somehow contributes your earnings, fights and that stuff?! I only play on certain wifi settings always putting me in small or non existent public sessions 😭

If there's one Chester online much of the game doesn't work; no NPCs no animals and no horses. That's more of a rockstar fault but if not for cheaters it wouldn't have been added.
Mod menus were always risky af to play around with, if you wanted to do it safe you needed to trick the server into giving you way more momey than it should when selling a car at LSC. Its patched now but you used to be able to use cheat engine to change the sell value of a vehicle and as long as it was selling for less than 50m it was completely safe. 😅
The perfect fix would to be opening "paid for modded lobbies"... Allowing the "good half" of modders to expeess their creativity, and for those who like enteracting in that way to be in lobbies together. Then RockStar can monitize it, giving both sides what they want... Now im not endorcing the God Mode or Griefing players who get excited over confrontation and or trolling others who just want to play. Those people deserve to get banned from any kind of lobby. But the ones who enjoy making super creative outfits and vehicle's should be allowed to do so with the approval of RockStar and without the risk of being banned. Even the trype of modding where the map is teraformeed and acceess is granted where it otherwise wouldn't be, shoud be acceptable as long as it done in a safe and enclosed environment away from the players that are not into any of that kind of stuff.
as someone whos had an account that i've cheated on for years with 0 bans the trick is to be lucky and i think me going inactive for months at a time helped me avoid some ban waves
As someone who had operated a Recovery Business, I do thank them for this anti-cheat. But I also disagree, Maybe if RockStar decided to balance out the money system and stop removing content just to add more money grabbing systems like the shark card, Id be more alright with it. But as I stand people should be able to play a game without spending hours on end playing the same crap just to get enough money to maybe buy a car without upgrades, that was originally cheaper before there original "balancing" Not to mention you now have to buy GTA+ just to possibly get one of the like 100+ vehicles now put behind a paywall (GTA+) The dumbest thing is its only 5 random vehicles every week, so your playing a gamble at that point and spending real money hopping for something, Even though they were and still are in the game files.

3:43 - Okay It won't do much but here some information. Every online multiplayer game, no matter how old it is, has issues with cheaters. Some games with way older protection methods are logically more affected by cheaters than up to date games. BattleEye Anti Cheat is a modern and continully updated anti-cheat program and is always adjusted for the specific game. Of course basic and overarching methods are present in any game's instance but some specific exploits need custom adjustment. In Escape from Tarkov's case it got heavily toned down. People tend to close cheating, means they only get walls/ESP and try to play legitimate, they are hard to catch and mostly undetected expect when reported and viewed by a human. I can't talk for DayZ, but I think the days where people flew over the map are also gone, in general people who ragecheat or do ridicolous things are banned in seconds or minutes, they have a one of experience and then they are gone. My point is it isn't simple to just say "They used Anticheat XY and Game XY has A lOoT oF iSsUeS wiTh ChEaTeRs means the anticheat is bad". To be fair I don't know if it is any good my understandings of programming and software engineering are basic. But there is no way to say how many cheaters are in a game or not, it is mostly subjective and without data we can say jack-shit. For Rockstar's case they could even used Kernel-Level garbage anticheat and a lot may come through.
GTA V PC On line, modding is now worse than ever before. Some modders have figured out how to make a mod menu work with battleye. So now, they are more toxic than ever before, and abuse the hell out of everyone. They are like little kids that have a magnifying glass and found ant hill to torture.
look, if gta 6 wont be such a money grab and make everything super expensive im sure there will be WAY less modders, since the only reason most people mod is because of the money tools they get from the menu
I play on PC. BattleEye has reduced modding by, I'd say 95% in my assessment, and the game is so much better. This also goes for Assault on ATT-16, which became pretty much unplayable with modders hacking, but I haven't seen any hacks since the anti-cheat was introduced.
It is surprisingly balanced, when someone spawned og tanks for everyone. But now it´s not, because there´s always player using the Up´n´Atom gun and aimbot.
The anti cheat definitely had problems, my friend (we play on xbox) has been falsely banned not once but twice, he was banned for no reason in the middle of playing, got it appealed, then not a day later got banned again while doing a nightclub sell mission. He has a normal account and never used any types of cheats or money glitches
@@Unknown_Genius well then why would he be banned the same day the anti cheat was added? And like I said he hasn’t cheated so it doesn’t make sense why he’s banned
@@Anonymous-hf1xr The AC isn't on console. They most likely made a ban wave the same day of people with strange account behaviour that got tracked for a while, which is absolutely normal as people do get banned in waves. Might still be a false ban (I e.g. got banned on PC for a week quite a while ago ~3 weeks after I accidentially joined a public lobby and a cheater finished all preperations of a running heist for everyone in the lobby), which also is common for Rockstar, so either he did some general bs (e.g. using exploits) or got unlucky. They may as well have added more strict rulesets to the stat checking they already did previously, but Im not gonna test that. But I'd also not be surprised if someone found yet another exploit in the GTA Code that allows you to ban people across platforms - just like the crash/corrupt game files exploit existed, but I somewhat doubt that.
What I want to know: does BattlEye only check me, if I go into Online or the moment I start the game for Single Player as well. I would be furious about a hardware ban due to modding in single player.
People forget about the biggest mistake Rockstar ever made, which was giving GTA 5 away for free on EPIC. Millions of accounts were made providing infinite supply for modders. Account got banned? No problem let's use another one... If the game would have been 50$ at all times I'm sure the modder problem wouldn't have been as severe. Yet I'm very happy the game got an anti cheat even if it is a mild one which doesn't detect everything. Definitely a test for GTA 6 in my opinion, so we can hopfully experience that game in peace.
I used Stand for a couple of years and maybe they were fun for like three days but then they destroy the whole concept of the game because you have nothing to do after you hav it
The thing is, BattleEye is useless on PC. I play on PC exclusively and ever since the "AnTi-ChEaT uPdAtE" it's just been worse. All it did was piss off the entire modding community, people using Kiddion are now moving to Stand or Midnight Mod Menu's because those communities have been finding work arounds for BattleEye. BattleEye doesn't do shit. Look at Valorant, PUBG, Fortnite, and DayZ, all games with BattleEye, all games riddled with cheaters. BattleEye has some impact on console use, but on PC, it just doesn't matter because it's a known anti-cheat with known bypasses. My experience on PC has turned very 50/50 since the update, it's now a 50 chance that I join a lobby that is decent and chill yes, but there's also the other 50 now where I join and it's some pissed off modder spam killing everyone in the lobby because he's absolutely pissed off at R* that he had to buy a new Mod menu. This entire "uPdAtE" has just been nothing but a broken nightmare that has had barely any success and has just ruined the quality of their over all game even more than ever now.

I don't know. I think the anticheat is still working wonderful. Prior to the anticheat I'd find 2-3 modders PER lobby when playing PC online. Now through a 8 hour session I may see one or two throughout the entire day.
I wish I was as lucky as you. There have been some days where I can't even get online because I keep getting my game frozen

The things a mod menu allows you to see are just downright scary.
any game with battleye crashes my pc to bsod, now i cant play one of my fav games anymore😢
This is why I don’t play gta online any more because of cheating and modding
There's also privacy concerns with anti-cheat software.
i remember downloading kiddons after i saw a dude online using it.
Never a problem on console.
@@John6-40 Yes but this is about PC
The modders are still here, I saw at least 5 yesterday abusing the lobby. They are still here but in fewer numbers.
Another modder I encountered yesterday started making peoples cars go all over the place and made mine fly, crash (several times) and sunk it in the ocean, played loud sounds constantly in my headset, and (of course) was godmode.
my main problem with the anti cheat is the specific anti cheat they used. frankly i wouldn't care at all if they use a bespoke AC for VI.
We should DDOS GTAO even more now.
Yeah that's a crime!
Battleye does support linux btw, rockstar just didn't enable it
1:20 they really summoned Optimus Prime 😭💀
I'm happy they are finally doing something. I've been covering some story mode content just in case. I'm a clean player and over level 170 hate to have to deal with a false ban, or modders crashing my game.. I've played 2 or 3 times in the last couple weeks online, and just stayed in an invite only lobby, golf was broken, a mission I tried to play with a friend was broken.. Happy anti cheat is finally being implied just be glad when they get the kinks worked out.
Facts I have just been getting kicked offline everyday since the anti cheat rolled out. Hopefully they can get it actually working soon. Thank you for the comment!
This anti cheat is literally just a test run for GTA 6. Rockstar try to solve the cheat issue before the PC port releases.
Sure for a woke game!
@@swellerace not even woke, blame the cheaters that made rockstar do all of this!

There were DOZENS of mod menus taken down by rockstar in 2017-2018. They did try to shut down most of them at the time.
I logged back on a couple days ago after a few years of not playing and there was a modder giving the entire lobby unlimited RP drops lol
Got a steamdeck just a month ago, and man, the number of games i can't play on it due to these lazy devs with BAD anti-cheat implementation is insane
fun fact a modder once crashed darkviperau's game while he was in singleplayer
But as I stand people should be able to play a game without spending hours on end playing the same crap just to get enough money to maybe buy a car without upgrades, that was originally cheaper before there original "balancing"
Not to mention you now have to buy GTA+ just to possibly get one of the like 100+ vehicles now put behind a paywall (GTA+) The dumbest thing is its only 5 random vehicles every week, so your playing a gamble at that point and spending real money hopping for something, Even though they were and still are in the game files.
For someone who plays GTA 5 its a shocker how he doesn't know much about kiddions, but that proves is that he's likely not a modder himself.
Right you are my friend
I played GTAO on PC for 10y before I got sick of it and switched to console. And from my experience: Oh, my, God...

GTA online was supposed to be a cute side game along with DLC. Thats why it never worked, it wasnt supposed to be that popular.
You mean complete opposite
Even if the Anticheat worked in favor of normal players, I’d still probably prefer the game without it.
GTA V PC On line, modding is now worse than ever before. Some modders have figured out how to make a mod menu work with battleye. So now, they are more toxic than ever before, and abuse the hell out of everyone.

Sounds like bs.
Because BattlEye is PC only, nothing changed for console.
@@Unknown_Genius yeah, you are probably right about the ban wave I just don’t get why he would be flagged in it

I am so glad that this shithole of hackers and modders is stopped now.

1:38 this is not true, Rockstar has taken down plenty of menus (Paragon, Impulse, Luna, etc.)
