Am I being daft? I've installed the 2FAS extension in order to quickly input 2FAS to websites that require it, meaning I do not need to unlock my phone, go into the app and get a code. I can just use the extension. The issue is, the extension simply asks you to go to your phone to approve it. Well what's the point? I might as well just use my phone in the first place. Unless I'm doing this incorrectly, this seems like a daft idea.
This is how BE is supposed to be used. Not requiring approval from the phone would mean that the secret key would have to be stored in the browser, and this is not secure, as the browser can be hacked. Until we develop a standalone app, BE will be used to automatically fill in the code and the phone will have to validate it. This is safe and still faster than manual entry.
Hi amazing app I’ve been using it for a while! 2 questions, is it possible to approve the autofill on Apple Watch? And what do you do with multiple accounts to one website? When we tap approve can’t we just select which account we are logging into? I’ve had it where it auto fills with a different account so I have to manually find it in the app and type it in myself.
Hi there, autofill on Apple Watch is currently not available. As for multiple accounts, if you have them, you cannot click remember when accessing one of them. If you don’t click it, it will be possible to choose between multiple.
I love the app, but I struggle to see the use case for the browser extension. The process flow for the browser extension includes unlocking the phone and clicking approve. So.. the only difference is, I just click approve on the app instead of entering 6 numbers into the website? Am I missing something here?
Hi there. Yes, we have discontinued the updates for older versions of the app and focused on versions 16.4 onward because of many security changes introduced in the newest versions. That doesn't mean that the older version is insecure, just that it would require a completely different build and dev team. So it's as secure as it was when it was the main version.
Hi, I wanted to use this on my browser so as not to use my phone - eg if i loose it or if someone else is authorised to get into my said account and they need to have the 2FAS code also - any suggestions?
How is this any different from Authy? Every time I click on 2FAS logo on my browser it sends me to accept on my phone. I want to just click and have it fill in the code automatically.
It does redirect you to the app for the service to remain secure. Without it, the secret keys would have to be stored in the Browser. And since the Browser can easily be hacked, it would lead to all the accounts being compromised.

You can still use 2FAS with lower versions of iOS. You just won't receive the updates that are dependent of functions added by the version 16.5 and forward.
It will work, only in the app on the phone the service cannot be assigned to one specific account. If it is, you have edit the specific service, go to Browser Extension and delete the domain there.

Is it possible to use 2FAS on multiple devices, so that a close relative can have access to my codes? If yes, could you please explain how to do this properly?
Hi there! Yes, it is possible in 2 ways, with one being a little bit more complicated. The first method is to be connected to the same Google Cloud/iCloud account and have cloud backup enabled on both devices. That way, any additions will be transferred to the other phone. The second method is for situations when the phones have different operating systems or use different cloud accounts. You can manually export all the codes to a file and import it on another device. They'll be there, but they'll have to be manually updated every time you add a new service. If you'd like to know anything more don't hesitate to ask! 😁

Hello, I have an Android device and I have configured the 2FAS application on it, if I switch to an IOS device and transfer these codes, will they be compatible?
After getting hacked this month everywhere I set up 2FAS and love it so far! Have a question though, I'm aware I have to set which 2FA code belongs to which site the first time I use the browser extension shortcut but is there a way to actually migrate all the saved sites when switching to a new PC and installing the same extension ? Basically my concern is what would happen if I save all my sites to all codes in the browser extension but then change my PC (which may happen this summer) ? Would I have to re-save them all on first click on the new PC or is there a way to export the extension's settings and just import to it on the new PC ? PS: Just noticed the name of the extension: dbfoemgnkgieejfkaddieamagdfepnff XD
The Browser Extension itself doesn't save any of your codes, so no you won't have any problems after changing the PC. The only thing you'll have to do is pair the Browser to your phone again. That's it, after that, everything will work the same as it does now.
@@2FAS oh so all the settings related to which code is for which site when using the extension shortcut are saved to my Google Drive with the app settings ?
Yes and no, the Browser Extension is only connected to the app, but yes the app does store the all the codes in Google Drive. Buy you wouldn't be able to save anything to GD only through BE.
I still have to authorize it on the phone? That's counterintuitive. I thought the add-on would show a list of the 2FA codes and I'd select from it, but having it this way, it's just not very useful to me. I'll uninstall the extension.
Fair enough, but to explain why it's the way it is. Storing codes in the Browser would require transferring them there, and as you know, your browser can get easily hacked, and the secret keys would be stolen. So that's also counterintuitive 😉. But we are working on a standalone PC app, so what you seek will be possible in the future.
I got the extension icon showing but when I click on it, I get a small window open in the bottom right of my screen telling me that 'Only HTTP and HTTPS protocols are supported by 2 FAS extension' What the heck is that all about?
For the Browser Extension to work, you need to click the icon when the address of the page begins with the https, for example: www.youtube.com/@2FAS. So you probably tried to use it in the settings screen or some other instance where the address does not contain https.
push on iOS does not work for me. I activated it in the settings. even with my phone unlocked it does not work. if I have the app open, the tokens arrive after 15~ish seconds, which is very slow
Not convinced by the explanation about choosing the token the first time you receive the push notification for a given domain : - most site generate to enable 2FA a QR Code with : secret TOTP / domain (so you already have it) / account's email - you can have multiple accounts for a given domain so in that case, you still have to choose which one you want to use (your app may retrieve the used account in first authentication steps to solve that)
We've decided on our approach because most of the websites are very inconsistent when it comes to generating the QR codes, so there is no standard there. As for multiple accounts for a domain, we're working on it right now, and hopefully, you'll be able to see results in the very near future. Please be patient just a little bit more.
@@2FAS thanks for detailed explanations, that make sense for the domain for example trello redirects you to another domain to enable 2fa (atlassian id or something like that)

With Browser Extension, that would require the app to store the Secret key within the browser, and unfortunately, that's a major security risk since browsers can be easily hacked.
@@2FAS thanks for the reply! But I think I still don't understand, what's preventing the browser from still communicating with the phone app every time, but just removing the user input for "approve" after the first log-in with a given site? Sorry if this is a stupid question
Happy to help! As for your question, it's the same matter of security. Your browser can be taken over, if the app would auto-approve then the hacker would be able to just log in everywhere and do what they like. Also, in general, auto auto-approval in security systems is... not recommended because it's the opposite of the highest security.
Yes, it is safe since nothing is stored on your Pc, and it still requires confirmation from the app. So even in the situation where someone hacks chrome, they won't be able to access anything.

I like your mobile authenticator but this browser extension makes little sense to me because it still requires the phone. I am terrified to lose or break my mobile hence login to all my sites. Please release a standalone desktop app (like Authy has).
We're working on the standalone app right now. Browser Extension requires the app because the workaround would require the browser to store the Secret Key that generates the codes. And the browser can be hacked, and the hacker could steal the Secret Key making 2FA totally useless. That's why it still requires the phone to accept the autofill.
An app was on our mind for some time, but ultimately, we have decided to go ahead with a Browser Extension since it's more secure, and there are no risks of losing the secret keys to your services.
I have managed to get this going with my Kraken account but when I used it elsewhere, it asked me for a pin. I was never asked to create one, definitely no mention of one in this video and now I am locked out of the site I tried to implement it with.
Our Browser Extension doesn't require/asks to create any pins, and doesn't operate around them. Therefore a service asking for a Pin is not something we can help with.

Everything about 2fas is good. Except the extension. The extension should import from Google Drive and sync. Or maybe a desktop app that does that. Too much work and too much ask for a free service. I understand.
Anyone knows how to restore 2FAS data from phone storage? My screen broke and I can no longer access just about anything. I have no more control of my bank accounts or anything like that. I hate this stupid 3 factor authentication nonsense.
Hi there, have you been using either cloud or manual backup? If you're on iOS, cloud backup is enabled by default, and you only need to connect to the same account on another phone with a 2FAS app, and everything will be restored automatically.
If you have manually exported the codes to a .JSON file (using the export button in 2FAS backup), then it is possible that you have it stored somewhere in your phone storage. If you haven't and didn't have cloud backup enabled, you need to contact services that were connected and restore your accounts with their help.
@@2FAS They don't react. Additionally they block your access to support altogether when you can't login. Since I cannot use the authenticator I cannot login. That's what I'm saying, this whole authentication nonsense went totally out of the order. Email and password are enough. If not, add a passcode. But this is nonsense.
That's why cloud backup and manual backup are a part of the app, to avoid situations like these and have everything easily restorable. As for the 2FA, in general, it is much safer than traditional passwords, but in the end, the user decides which type of security they prefer.
"It's the best authenticator I've used. I tried three others (Micros, auth, and goog), and all of them lost my accounts. I love the design and ease of 2FAS. Congratulations to its developers, great job. I'm recommending it to all my friends and family."

Great app , Keep up the good work ❤❤❤
Thank you very much! We'll do what we can 😁
After getting hacked this month everywhere I set up 2FAS and love it so far!
@@2FAS got it, thanks 👍
Great extension, great app, and great tutorial, cheers
Always happy to help 😊
I still have to authorize it on the phone? That's counterintuitive.
I thought the add-on would show a list of the 2FA codes and I'd select from it, but having it this way, it's just not very useful to me. I'll uninstall the extension.
Fair enough, but to explain why it's the way it is. Storing codes in the Browser would require transferring them there, and as you know, your browser can get easily hacked, and the secret keys would be stolen. So that's also counterintuitive 😉. But we are working on a standalone PC app, so what you seek will be possible in the future.
@@2FASI'm certainly interested in using that PC program, hopefully it'll be available as an exe program than the M$ Store (not a fan of).
Please join our Discord, we'll help you with the problem there.
Just descovered this amaizing service! 😘
Happy to have you with us! 😁
Not convinced by the explanation about choosing the token the first time you receive the push notification for a given domain :
- most site generate to enable 2FA a QR Code with : secret TOTP / domain (so you already have it) / account's email
- you can have multiple accounts for a given domain so in that case, you still have to choose which one you want to use (your app may retrieve the used account in first authentication steps to solve that)
We've decided on our approach because most of the websites are very inconsistent when it comes to generating the QR codes, so there is no standard there. As for multiple accounts for a domain, we're working on it right now, and hopefully, you'll be able to see results in the very near future. Please be patient just a little bit more.
@@2FAS thanks for detailed explanations, that make sense for the domain for example trello redirects you to another domain to enable 2fa (atlassian id or something like that)
I'm having a issue where the extension page never load, so I am unable to link it with the mobile app.
Could you tell us what browser are you using?
I am using thorium.@@2FAS
That's the issue currently. We'll fix it in version 1.4.6, so please update when it's available, and everything will be working as intended 😁
What if I have many same domain accounts?
More than one Twitter, Rockstar Games, Epic Games, etc...
We're currently testing it, so it should be released in the near future (on iOS, it should already be available on Android)!
@@2FAS
Already available on Android? Great!
I'll check it later.
not sure how to make this work i did what the video said but i cant seem to click on push notifiocations to show the code on my browseer. does anyone know how to click on push notifications?
So after the app successfully connects to the browser, when you click the 2FAS BE button in the browser, no push notification is sent? Or do you have a problem with something else? If so, please explain the situation in more detail.
Why does my 2fa not work even tho i set up all the authentications can you please help me
I will be glad to help, but I could use some more information about the problem. Could you describe it in more detail?
I gotta say Authy's desktop app is still more convenient.
No need to touch your phone (which I thought was the purpose of this extension). Just mouse-click twice for copy & paste and voilà.
I guess I'll keep Authy on desktop, and use 2FAS/Aegis on my phone (both great apps).
We'll be working on our own standalone app for desktop, so we hope you'll join us when we finally release it! 😊
@@2FAS I just downloaded this browser extension hoping I wouldn't need to touch my phone, but disappointed. Definitely work on that standalone app so we don't need to touch the phone! Please & thanks :)
@@2FAS would it still require the phone nearby? How does a desktop app assure a person has the actual physical object (phone, etc) on them/ near them?
@@deeeznuuuts It won't need you to have access to your phone. You will receive code on the desktop application which can be used to login. No need for the phone.
@@2FAS When you release your standalone app for desktop, I will definitely be joining.
I wish there was an option to have it auto-approve once you've added everything the first time. I don't want to take my phone out of my pocket at all when I log in at home
Like I would still take out my phone the first time I log into twitter on my PC, but after 2fas has registered twitter to my specific 2fa code, why can't the computers request to use that code just be auto-approved? Sorry if this is a stupid question
Happy to help! As for your question, it's the same matter of security. Your browser can be taken over, if the app would auto-approve then the hacker would be able to just log in everywhere and do what they like. Also, in general, auto auto-approval in security systems is... not recommended because it's the opposite of the highest security.
this is very cool and very helpful
Glad to hear it, thanks! 😊
The better autenticator app!!
Thank you very much! 😊
I don't follow. I don't see settings on the web browser version.
The browser fills the code automatically after you accept the push notification in the app on the phone.
Great feature but is it safe? since chrome is a great target for many hackers
Yes, it is safe since nothing is stored on your Pc, and it still requires confirmation from the app. So even in the situation where someone hacks chrome, they won't be able to access anything.
@@2FAS thank you for the explanation
Happy to help!
2FAS is the better
Thanks❤
Thank you very much! We appreciate it 😊
Best 2fa app! But desktop app when?
Thank you! We have no specific plans for a desktop app right now, so we'll see in the future.
O Facebook não aceita o código gerado pelo app
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. It must mean that the service was connected with the app in the wrong way. Please disconnect it and try to connect it again.
Here is a tutorial that will help you: th-cam.com/video/Gxd-oQA4wq0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3hpU--fw31ErCfB2
I love you guys
Happy to hear it. Thanks!
Awesome 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks 🤜🤛
I like your mobile authenticator but this browser extension makes little sense to me because it still requires the phone. I am terrified to lose or break my mobile hence login to all my sites. Please release a standalone desktop app (like Authy has).
We're working on the standalone app right now. Browser Extension requires the app because the workaround would require the browser to store the Secret Key that generates the codes. And the browser can be hacked, and the hacker could steal the Secret Key making 2FA totally useless. That's why it still requires the phone to accept the autofill.
Exactly. This add-on is kind of pointless since it still requires the user to authorize it on the phone.
What's the use!
Looking forward to that standalone app now that Authy has EOL its desktop app. 😉
An app was on our mind for some time, but ultimately, we have decided to go ahead with a Browser Extension since it's more secure, and there are no risks of losing the secret keys to your services.
so, no Firefox extension
Our Browser Extension is available on Firefox browsers on PCs.
@@2FAS I advise you to talk to firefox to make them recognize the 2FAS extension as recommended.
Oh Dear no text/capital on your video I had no luck since ce March 2022. Now I can try one more time... Thank you for your share..
I am on Tablet (Samsung) and I do have Cell Phone (android and Nokia)... what can you give me the link that I can trying goto website.
If you mean the 2FAS Browser Extension website, then here is the link: 2fas.com/browser-extension/
my 1st app for 2fa ;)
Then welcome and we hope you have a good time enjoying it! 😊
Paring Failed why?
You'll have to give us some context about what happened. What mobile system do you use, what browser are you using, what exactly did you do etc.
I would like you to set up a Patreon account. Makes it super easy to donate. And I like having all my payees managed in one app. 2FAS is great! Thanks. I would use 2FAS to log into Patreon.
Hi there. Thank you very much for being willing to support us! We appreciate it enormously!
If you'd like to donate to us you can do so here: 2fas.com/donate/
@@2FAS I made a PayPal donation yesterday. Thanks for your great work in making 2FAS!
Thanks! 😊
This fisheye effect on the camera is very confronting/distracting - I'd recommend using a lens with a tighter field of view, or a different projection method (a mapping from a curved sensor or array of sensors onto a flat image).
It is like that intentionally 😉
Everything about 2fas is good. Except the extension. The extension should import from Google Drive and sync. Or maybe a desktop app that does that. Too much work and too much ask for a free service. I understand.
Happy you like the app overall 😁 As for the extension improvments, we'll see in the future.
thanks :D
Happy to be of service 😁
Perfect! but my iPhone can copy paste cross devices 😂
The possibility is always there, because it's convenient. But, if you have your own more convenient method, that's perfect 😁
@@2FAS Hi. Thanks for the suggestion but I don't use an iPhone. How can I check for a manual backup? Could be possible that I made one.
Unable to login 1xbet account with secret key
Secret key itself, isn’t used to log in to the account. It’s used in the app to generate 6 digit keys that you use to to log in.

Could you tell us what do you find problematic? We'll gladly help you with it.
"It's the best authenticator I've used. I tried three others (Micros, auth, and goog), and all of them lost my accounts. I love the design and ease of 2FAS. Congratulations to its developers, great job. I'm recommending it to all my friends and family."
Happy you like our app so much, and thank you for the recommendation and kind words!
I miss twitter
You and many others.
Looking forward to that standalone app now that Authy has EOL its desktop app. 😉
Me too
An app was on our mind for some time, but ultimately, we have decided to go ahead with a Browser Extension since it's more secure, and there are no risks of losing the secret keys to your services.
@@2FAS Yes, but it's easier to get your phone stolen than your desktop computer. If your phone gets stolen, you won't have access to your tokens in the extension since they need a confirmation from the app.
