Hi there, have you been using either cloud or manual backup? If you're on iOS, cloud backup is enabled by default, and you only need to connect to the same account on another phone with a 2FAS app, and everything will be restored automatically.

If you have manually exported the codes to a .JSON file (using the export button in 2FAS backup), then it is possible that you have it stored somewhere in your phone storage. If you haven't and didn't have cloud backup enabled, you need to contact services that were connected and restore your accounts with their help.

@@2FAS They don't react. Additionally they block your access to support altogether when you can't login. Since I cannot use the authenticator I cannot login. That's what I'm saying, this whole authentication nonsense went totally out of the order. Email and password are enough. If not, add a passcode. But this is nonsense.

That's why cloud backup and manual backup are a part of the app, to avoid situations like these and have everything easily restorable. As for the 2FA, in general, it is much safer than traditional passwords, but in the end, the user decides which type of security they prefer.

You can easily restore everything with a cloud or manual backup. For cloud you need to be connected to the same account on the new device and enable the cloud backup option. Everything will get restored. As for manual, you can export a file from your old phone and import it on your new one.

Almost as secure as possible. Combined with a complicated password (maybe one from a password manager), it will make it impossible for any hacker to get into your account. They can't guess a 6-digit code in 30 secs.

@@2FAS i request an sms, they dont send it to the number even tho its the right number, i get authy and see the token, twitch doesnt accept the authy codes, none of this crap makes sense

Hi, unfortunately, it's an error on Twitch's side, and many other users have the same problem. They have acknowledged the issue and are working on fixing it (at least that's what they told), but when will they fix it, we can't tell.

The easiest route is usually to contact rockstar support and ask them to restore your account, they will send you an email and you’ll be able to restore everything. Do you mean the Twilio Authy app, or our app? Because twitch will be added automatically to our app once you scan the QR code, you don’t have to do anything before that. As for authy, you’d have to ask on their dedicated channel/server.

@@2FAS i have the Microsoft authentication app, twitch on my ancient laptop doesn't give me the option to scan the QR code. Twitch is having an issue sending codes via text messages to setup 2fa on mobile or PC.

​@@2FASi contacted twitch support and they said it's an issue with the service and they are fixing the issue but no estimated time given, I'm affiliated now and can't access my affiliate onboard so I'm trying different work arounds, just download your app but the set 3 on this video is not clear on how to add twitch to your app. Using my 2015 PC i don't get a QR code to scan with the app, in other words, there's no QR bar anywhere on Twitch to scan. What now? If twitch had an option to copy a longer code when you can't scan a QR code with the phone then i can use that method as another work around. All i want is to be able to enable 2fa on twitch.

Do you mean the code that's sent to your phone? Because Twitch seems to have many problems right now, and many other people have the same issue. You should contact their support, and they'll help you resolve the issue.

You can choose to get sent a code to your phone number connected to iCloud. You’ll be able to log in with it without a problem.

I've been dealing with the same problem. I dont know whats happening, I sent some emails to twitch support, but they repeated the same message and the conversation didnt get the poin. Im glad to see that Im not the only person that has the same problem. Please, If you find a solution, let me know. I'll do the same

@@edgarmr3292 yeah i am getting the run around from twitch support too i cant receive the sms security code to set up 2fa my phone number is correct as i have received the verification code to verify my number and even when they say use authy still not getting any codes or anything i cant add twitch as an account so how am i meant to get the codes after i have registered with authy they telling me to go to twillo support and they cant give me a eta when this sms security code will be fixed but they do know there is a problem as i am sure lots of people have the same problem twitch are bloody hopeless for a billion dollar company

It seems the issue lies solely on Twitch's side. We can't send the SMS from our side. It has to be from them. So, unfortunately, their support remains the only resolution to the problem.

If you'd like to synchronize iOS and Android via cloud, unfortunately, it's not possible as they use two different cloud systems. You can synchronize them manually by exporting a file from one device and importing it on the second one. This way, you'll have the same codes on both devices, with the caveat that you'll have to manually synchronize them every time you add a new code on one of the devices.

The manual export is not connected to Google or iCloud so the issue probably lies there. Go to Settings -> 2FAS Backup and in the middle of the page there will be an export button, click it. To make it easier don't set up a password and click "Exportar a un archivo" send this file to your other phone and store it in documents. Then click import, find the file and you'll be able to import it. That's the whole process! 😁

The only thing you can do right now is contact Discord support and ask them to restore your account. They are the only ones that can help.

The possibility is always there, because it's convenient. But, if you have your own more convenient method, that's perfect 😁

The easiest way to get everything back is to quickly log in to the same Google Account on another Android phone and turn on backup there to restore all the codes. After that, export the codes manually in 2FAS Backup -> Export, and transfer the file to your iPhone. Then you'll be able to import everything in the same place.

Hi there. I've just checked and there option to use another Authentication app is still there. The layout of the page is just a little bit different. Could you tell us when exactly did you encounter an issue?

Go to the same place in the settings where you turned it on, and there you'll be able to turn it off.

Hi there! The first and most important thing is that you can restore everything with what you have right now. Even if you lose or break your phone, after you log in to the same Google account on the new one, all the codes will be restored when you turn on the backup (you can also import them manually from the file you created). As for the backup codes, they are issued by the services such as Discord in case you lose your 2FA app and codes, and need to log in (and you're safe from that). Each service has their own backup codes that you have to store on your own on your PC for example. We don't issue those backup codes because they are specific to each service. If you also don't have the backup codes, then I'm afraid Discord support is your only option to restore everything. But I have to warn you from the experience of others, they are reluctant to help with this problem.

With Browser Extension, that would require the app to store the Secret key within the browser, and unfortunately, that's a major security risk since browsers can be easily hacked.

But I think I still don't understand, what's preventing the browser from still communicating with the phone app every time, but just removing the user input for "approve" after the first log-in with a given site? Like I would still take out my phone the first time I log into twitter on my PC, but after 2fas has registered twitter to my specific 2fa code, why can't the computers request to use that code just be auto-approved? Sorry if this is a stupid question

Happy to help! As for your question, it's the same matter of security. Your browser can be taken over, if the app would auto-approve then the hacker would be able to just log in everywhere and do what they like. Also, in general, auto auto-approval in security systems is... not recommended because it's the opposite of the highest security.

The most important thing is to not click the remember button in the app. This way, whenever you use the BE, you'll be able to choose the token you want.
