To toggle stuff do i need to have separate meshes for everything that i want to toggle or is it possible to toggle it anyway after selecting it from the body dropdown somewhere?
To be honest, this is not mandatory for now. I prefer to do it tho because it's something that should be done in general gamedev and I guess at some point VRChat will require it. So far it's fine if you dont put anything into the mask

Sorry to be a bother, I am purchased your Awtter base, and Im trying to follow along with this, but for some reason, unity wont allow me to change any of the names of the files as I create them. For example, I created the new animations, and they show up just fine (Animation 1, animation 2, etc) but if I use the F2 option, or the right click 'rename' option, nothing happens. I tried to just work through that, but when you said the parameters have to match the exact word and case of the layers, I realized I have a problem. Do you know how to fix this, Id really appreciate any help!
Hillo, there's several softwares involved in the creation of a model from the ground. Polygons / armature / expressions etc in Blender Textures in Krita, or Photoshop, or Substance Painter Integration in Unity
@@ploopyloopyVR to be honest i had to start over, did it like i would a regular int toggle system, layer weight to 1, then went in and popped the bool True and bool false depending on if i wanted the default on or off. i also didnt connect it to anything other than the enter. i'll look into my files in a few hours tho and probably pop back here and elaborate on it more.
@@shadethebat4641 There's a slight problem. The "+" isn't clickable for me and is a darker shade of grey than other icons. I couldn't seem to find the FX asset in my Animation folder either

It turned out that I didn't have an FX asset in my animation folder because I didn't realise that you had to copy and paste the Hand controllers from the VRC SDK3 Animations into my own animations. Thank you so much for being kind and helpful and inviting me to the server (I joined back in March)

man this tutorial would of been real helpfull if he explained bugs that happen like being unable to add a layer, one of the worst and also outdated tutorials ive seen👎

i have the latest version of sdk3 and i followed your steps exactly but it's not working. i can either turn them on but not off or their stuck on.
Physbones works a bit differently and you will need to check "is animated" in the PB component before being able to move it in an animation :3
@@shadethebat4641 the item i have doesn;t have phys bones, the same toggle trick you used just breaks for me and i don't know why.

i dont have a "mask" in the animatior tab
Mask aint mandatory yet, I use them in case one day they would make it necessary. So you can just not use any :3
I kept trying to make toggles in the Action layer and didn't know why they failed 🤣

Hi ! You can create it yourself : Right click in the blank area of whatever folder then Create > VRChat > Avatars > Expressions menu

for my parameters i cant set it to bool it only has int and float

it dont work :( it when i make it the items i want to be toggles are just there and cant be toggled off
My video is about 3.0 SDK, if your model is 2.0 you'll need to find another tutorial ^^'
