Potato, every now and again one of your saves captivates me. I have been looking forward to this every night as this has been an absolute journey and I'm so excited to see how it pans out.
So this series inspired me to do a game I've been having a lot of fun with. Between the national park focus, and the workable mountain mod, I had the idea to do a National Park focused culture game as The Inca, using Preserves to make the workable mountain tiles really high value. I've named the save file for it "Emperor's New Grove"
I waited the whole episode for you to notice that you got Huey after you were stumped about where that production on the lake came from. Also, Huey makes that city by the tea and the banana shaped lake actually viable now.
I completed my Deity Culture victory with Bull Moose last night! It was epic! I got a turn 270 culture victory even though 2 of the other civs were killed off by the Cree. It was basically over when I got the "Wish you were here" golden age and my dozen national parks doubled in tourism, and I made the Eiffel tower which increased all their appeal by 2. It was the best game of civ I've ever had and just my 3rd deity win.
@@tanegravy5410 Yeah. It was a crazy game. About 60% of my land was Desert so I had to squeeze out a religion and get Desert folklore+work ethic and by the end My empire was made up of desert production cities and national park cities
To keep track of which cities are building which map tack district/national park/etc., (if it's not obvious), I label the map tacks with the city's name, or if the city has yet to be founded I'll use ^v symbols to point to the appropriate city centre map tack. I find that this helps a lot when you have map tacks everywhere, since you don't have re-figure out your plan over and over again as you build your planned infastructure.
Just finished a Kupe Terra game. Landed on the uninhabited continent and it was beautify. IT WAS A DONUT. I had my own little inland sea map to myself. On one side, there was a gap to close the donut with a golden gate and on the other there was a 7 wide line for the perfect Panama canal. While the rest of the world were busy conquering each other, I was along planting forests. My favorite game of Civ so far, and it will be extremely hard to beat.
I've before watched someone do an "All Eurekas" challenge and a "No Eurekas" challenge. The early game was the hardest, but they very quickly were eras ahead of the AI in science in both games.
Is it just me, or does potato leave the settler production card plugged in thru TWO GOVERNMENT REWORKS in this episode while producing ZERO SETTLERS!? Rage complete carry on my Tuberous friend… or strap on ;)

Hey potato you should try JRN Districts in your next lets play. It really gives you more options and doesn't completely change things too much. Best mods out there at the moment.
I’ve got an American game going far in the future with everything settled. I managed to be friends or Allies with every Civ in the game with me only having 4 tall cities. Scotland attacked me once in the ancient era. So I declared war on them and took them over. Now with their cities and resources im going to slowly take over the world! Hopefully. Lots of vamps.. I’ve got a huge GDP and National Treasury from owls of Minvera.

You got back the ability to build the the batey and just sortof stopped doing it. Obviously the forests *were* more important but there's got to be a way to utilize a few bateys to further accelerate your tourism. Well I say "got to be" as if that's a guarantee. It'd be nice if there was.
Does anyone know if there's any tile improvements that won't stop the bonuses? Was thinking maybe one of the city state bonus improvement or something like that. Guess you could use Nazca lines at least which would be difficult. And all these forests much better on america or maori, so civ bonus tile improvements are pretty much out.
I don't know if you know this, but when making an alliance, since open borders goes with alliances, put it in the offer on your end with making one and you'll get some extra cash.

This, 100%, is a huge problem when it comes to challenges. MMOs, mobile games, etecetera have a massive problem when it comes to making challenges and leveling up fun, as they almost always make the endless grind the focus, which sucks, as the endless Grind is basically doing a job, instead of doing something for fun.
So on the subjects of challenges, could you make it possible to win using religious boosts for science and culture? Like use beliefs to generate culture from shrines and build wats as science buildings? xD
I know it's a meme/long term payoff that basically only works if you're already on your way to winning, but I've been attempting to get some value out of preserves and just not getting close for a while now. Actually, all my Civ 6 games on Emperor+ for the past 6 months have ended in frustration after 100 turns or so when my position is revealed to be weak and the AI declare war while smiling at me, and munching up the city states I suzerain... I used to be sorta good at this, have won Deity and Immortal a bunch of times, where's the fun gone?
On Immortal and Deity, city-states will start with walls automatically, which results in the AI suiciding on them more often than not. So you'll actually have an easier time in that respect by increasing the difficulty level. On Preserves, they're just a super niche district specific to Kupe or national park-based games due to the buildings' bonus yields only appearing on unimproved tiles. If you're going to be centered around Seaside Resorts or other culture/tourism tile improvements, you're usually better off building Holy Sites/Theater Squares/Entertainment Districts that ALSO boost appeal while letting you improve your tiles as normal. The one thing I'll say though is that Potato kinda biffed this playthrough by chopping so aggressively after the war with Rome was over. Part of the idea with BM Teddy and Groves is that they provide enough culture (and faith) to push you through to Conservation, at which point you can put down parks and patch up your remaining wood patches while buying Sanctuaries to catch back up on science and production. By nuking his appeal and doing more generically "normal" development, he ended up having to wait until Conservation to START setting up for parks rather than being ready in advance to flip the switch, and he hasn't had groves + Earth Goddess building up his faith for naturalists. If Preserves are a key part of your win condition, they should generally be the first district you're building in your cities, and if it DOESN'T feel like the first district you should be building, you probably haven't ACTUALLY put together a Preserve-based plan for victory.
How does he get all the players stats at the top left, and how does get the units to move so quickly, and how does he get to mark tiles with them marker things

If you want to have fun with Bateys, play as the Cree and make mega cities with them and Mekewaps.
