I installed the locking thumb turn on my front door to prevent bad guys from breaking the glass and reaching through. When I am home - it allows for keyless egress. Expensive, but fantastic!
David Galbraith that's was not pulling attack and they used older locks and not even installed in a door the newer Abloy is stronger with a hardened steel clip so it's impossible
Jim Oltman Abloy has a High Security Cylinder that will fit the Schlage and Kwikset / Weiser Electronic Locks. I retrofitted my Schlage Sense to a Schlage Primus High Security Cylinder.
what do i do, when your phone messg is full? how can I be safe with the new lock? will it be pick proof? if they had been using this tool tru my locks? why aren't my locks failed yet? how can I know that it had been tapperred?
yeah abloy make good locks its finnish company so every house in finland has their locks usually newer houses has the newer locks and sometimes they even change the locks that have been preached for never one. so without saying there's not really many burglaries here unless you leave your door open or someone breaks your window to get in :D
I know you talk about these locks, but what about other people said, they break them down into rings, so what can I make of it? tell me...I want to know, I'm not the lock smith nor the lock picker, and the lock pickers are more popular, so what do I do now, need a reason fast.
Allot people are clueless about Abloy locks , They might be expensive but they do the job ! I bought the Abloy pl362 $340 for my motorcycle ! From what I know this lock cannot be picked ..
David Galbraith you don't know what you talking about, you should take a look at the inside of abloy padlock you will find that your 0.2$ hammer and bolt will do absolutely nothing
V2 is a truly awesome system but there are multiple decoders for it now. A simple google brings up choices to purchase. It should probably not be sold under the 'no known covert entry method' to justify the immense price.
why do you guys not use ball shaped thumb turners like you see in europe its almost impossible to open using a tool but with your hand you have plenty of grip on the knob to turn it open or closed. Also anyone knows how to beat it (just interested in lockpicking) only way i that is maybe a inside bicycle tire lifted over the know. And pulled from bottom or top like a rubber conveyor belt. also the knobs come smooth, rimmed or polished.
Everyone has the ability to machine any key you have an image of for themself. This video alone likely provided enough data to be able to generally mill thsee key blanks.
I love it.... It will only take time until someone finds a way.. At that point its junk.,.. But until then... Its now a toy to play with.. "Sometimes the easy way is the fastest, but don't over look the rabbit that's hides in the hole"
Every variable of complexity added to an ingress operation increases the probability of total failure. However, the opposite for the defense. Mistakes cost time and increase the likelihood of being caught. So, it's a great lock system to thwart unscrupulous average thieves and professional criminals. Coupled with a layered security measures it just makes sense not to try ingress. If you keep the layers high it just makes sense to leave the defense alone.
criminals wont go through the trouble of cutting and drilling unless they know for certain its worth the risk. They know you keep diamonds or gold bars in the house lol.
last option is always to contact manufacturer with valid documents. It is intentionally made hard to get new copies of keys but not impossible with valid documents.
It's best security practice to avoid losing your keys - which is why most people need more keys for a lock made up. Having lost keys floating around somewhere makes your lock less secure, along with your new keys those old keys still work.
There's not a mechanical lock that can't be picked and thanks to TH-cam picking is overrated. The youtube pickers are always picking locks they own and most often have the keys with the correct bitting sitting right in front of them. The lock is always clean and new looking and held at a comfortable position for picking on camera which is either in a vise or in hand at which ever position/angle the picker prefers. If that isn't a completely rigged game, I don't know what is. I'd like to see these pickers pick a rusty lock, in an awkward position outside in the pouring rain, where even the correct key it's a pain to get the lock to open because of how rusted, sticky, and awkwardly located the lock is. It could even be a master lock and I think these youtubers would give up before getting it open because none of them have experience with awkward positions, weathered locks, and terrible weather. The locks I'm describing are real because they are the locks I have. Even my best cared for lubricated locks are being a pain right now because they are frozen and it's 15°F, the key doesn't want to go in, if it does it doesn't want to turn, and even if it does turn the lock still doesn't want to open. Again picking is overrated, a real thief would use a grinder, cutter, or some other quick brute force method rather than attempt to pick a lock in the freezing cold.
And with the deadbolt system one swift kick will break open the door because that little piece of wood that's left in the frame is not very strong deadbolts are please leave defeatable with one swift kick if you're big enough strong enough that is padlocks are fairly easily defeatable with a pair of bolt cutters if you're a criminal you're not caring about ruining their property now if you want to do it quietly and covertly and not have any Trace that you were broken into than yeah picking a lock it's a great idea however if you're a criminal you just want to do a quick quiet and get in and get out you don't care about breaking their stuff like a door or a padlock with a bolt cutter because one of you last heard of any burglar actually picking a lock either kick the door open or they cut the padlock with a pair of bolt cutters
why are you showing the criminals how to open locks? if it's that easy, then, well, do you install these other ones? will I be the only one who get to have the only key to it, and there is no duplicate out there, so the criminals can't get into my.
An abloy deadbolt costs between $400 to $600 which puts it squarely in the luxury market. An unpickable lock is useless if there are other places to enter.
In Finland, the doors open outwards, so beating with the hammer does not help. Even the "big man" can't even run through the door because the door is supported by frames. Not just a lock. An inward opening door is a really bad idea !
I'm glad he let Mike talk
Interesting vid but the Abloy specialist on the right is always interrupted by the boss, which is a bit annoying.
I installed the locking thumb turn on my front door to prevent bad guys from breaking the glass and reaching through. When I am home - it allows for keyless egress. Expensive, but fantastic!
The Abloy can be beaten with a $0.02 bolt and a hammer.
David Galbraith no you don't know what you talking about Abloy solve that security problem a long time ago now it's truly impossible
I didn't know about the only open or lock feature for some keys. Interesting concept.
Oops, the closing guy thumbed and locked the newbie in the place.
@@williamhurstcampaign6386 It's ok, the opening guy will in on monday...oh wait that's a holiday...the opening guy will be in on tuesday.
With a padlock all you need is a really good big bolt cutters and you can cut through the lock pretty easily and quietly
Do these Abloy deadbolts work with smart home lock kits?
Abloy has a lock cylinder to retrofit a Smartkey lock but...
What about pulling attacks.....can you pull the core out the lock on the door with a screw and dent puller/slide hammer
BlackDolphin90 imposible with Abloy™
You would have to pull out half the door to pull out the Abloy Deadbolt.
Next to impossible.
BosnianBill and LockPickingLawyer have both beaten the Abloy by defeating the clip that holds the whole thing together.
David Galbraith that's was not pulling attack and they used older locks and not even installed in a door the newer Abloy is stronger with a hardened steel clip so it's impossible
Can you retrofit an abloy into a Smart Lock system like the Kwikset 914 or the Schlage (ZWave devices)?
Jim Oltman Abloy has a High Security Cylinder that will fit the Schlage and Kwikset / Weiser Electronic Locks. I retrofitted my Schlage Sense to a Schlage Primus High Security Cylinder.

And also the customer can call the locksmith at anytime and ask how many keys they have just by given the key number on the key.
Where do you get them?
abloy is the king
what Master key generation software do you guys use
Matt Whitley Master King from HPC
Mr. Locksmith thanks
So should you lose the keys what options do you have??
Lots of drills and a grinder.
@@24hrMrLocksmith I am wanting to change out/ retrofit all of my locks now to these, great videos!

it seems a bit scary that you have to rely on one shop for keys if that shop goes out of business you are up the creek
R Dixon no problems just contact Abloy and they will factory cut your keys in Finland
Abloy choose their Authorized Dealers very carefully, however, if their was a problme Abloy will fix the problem.
no lock is faultless.

Has abloy fixed the weak brass ring that holds the cylinder in the lock? So you can’t take a hammer and 5/16 bolt to pop it right out..
Only on old small cabinet/door locks and TH-cam and not properly installed Abloy Protec 2 Deadbolts.
Abloy locks CAN be picked
Patent is good till 2031 for Protec2
Well Let Mike Speak, Dang..
Nice but , but it would cost more for the locks than to replace my stolen property LOL!
gravetrainnn Become a Locksmith and then you will lots of cool stuff and then you will need good locks :-)
truly the best/most secure lock in the world thumb up
Can be beaten with a 2 cent bolt and a hammer.
David Galbraith not this one you don't know what you talking about
BosnianBill and LockpickingLawyer say you're wrong. I posted their videos above.

provide key code card to have key cut

at that price the deadbolt would be more expensive than the door.

Doors and door frames can be reinforced, as has been done on this channel among other places. The lock is only one piece of the defense.
