Agreed. The problem is the cost. The community would be far more forgiving if it didn’t cost so much to make builds to play the game. As the greed has gotten worse, so has the game!
@@seanh8095dvd's and gaming are the cheapest forms of entertainment - you dont have to buy the battlepass, but it is unfortunate 2k rewards pay to win, new generation of gaming
The real issue, which only was slightly fixed in 2k23, is the Left right Cheese. You cant say the game is realistic when you play against it. Literally left right dribble cheese with the vacuumed screens is the most unrealistic BS in the game which is why I'm confused on why they made shooting realistic but not the dribbling or screen mechanics. No one is doing that in real life without getting tired or losing the ball.
The thing with “making it easier to shoot” is they would HAVE to make defense and the contest system better. 2k23 last gen is what I played in 23, and that contest system felt amazing other than some inconsistency’s in the interior. But you had people shooting 60%, but good defense could shut them out. That’s almost impossible this 2k.
Ppl who are talking about real life Steph Curry 3pt percentage, the NBA has defensive schemes and Steph is not shooting all of his shots WIDE OPEN! Most of the time, his shots are HEAVILY CONTESTED. You let curry take every shot WIDE OPEN and he’ll shoot 70% for the season.
The main issue is the servers. I just played Marvel Rivals and the servers are butter! I've played hundreds of games with zero lag, zero disconnects, zero issues. 2k refuses to invest in their servers.
I just think Mike Wang needs to find another profession because I don’t know if anyone else notice. But he is the same guy that was doing NBA live games at one point and now look how NBA live turn out now he’s over here doing the same thing to 2K. I really hope that this is his last 2k. People play the game to have full control over whatever happens not random animations and the Devs randomly playing God with our jump shots and other things that’s not fun or fair.
Live went down after he left, though, and he was at 2k first. Like 2k7 and 8 then he left went to live and left there in like 2010 last live game before that dumb nba 11 elite and beyond. Nba Live 10 was the last decent one with Dwight on the cover
You all misinterpreted; Wang only made one NBA Live game, Live 10, which was financially successful and considered the best NBA Live ever. Then he returned to NBA 2K. He literally made every 2k from 06-25
@killar3g he left 2k in 2007-08 and signed with EA like I said, then left there and went back to 2k like I previously stated and I liked live 10 hated when he left because I didn't like 2k
@ no he actually didn’t leave until live 11 which is live elite which was by far the worst game they made he did both 2K 11 and live. That was his last game.
Here is the fix: -Open shots you time go in -Covered shots drastically reduce make % (legendary deadeye let’s you make light contests consistently) -Bring back last years dunk meter -Make floaters viable
I think the release speed alternating was a great idea, adds more skill and realism. But if they add such mechanics they have to fix release queues to coincide with EACH green window. Servers and input lag fixes would probably make 2k feel a lot better as well. Even maneuvering in the city feels more delayed than games made 20 years ago
There’s 3 different shot timings and yall are still complaining about this game. There is a ranked mode in this game. It’s called pro am and proving grounds. The Content creators that are crying about this game, they don’t play defense. They just expect you to miss while expecting that they make everything. So, this would not be a fix. This doesn’t even make sense.
ITS A VIDEO GAME!….IF U KNOW YOUR SHOT IT SHOULD GO IN. 2K DOING TOO MUCH, RNG CAUSES UNNECESSARY NEW BUILDS AND NEW JUMPSHOTS. REGARDLESS OF AGE OR GAME PLAY 2K IS A COMPETITIVE GAME AND RNG IS TIPPING THE SCALES. RANDOMLY AT THAT SMH.
i disagree fam its 12 year olds who know their jump shots in previous 2ks and suffer from main character syndrome.Players need deeper bags and take better shots !! I rarely see miss jump shots when you know your shot and its a good one
@ YOUR PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THE RANDOMS, NOT THE RNG LOL. PAYERS “BAG” HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RNG, ITS LITERALLY MAKING U MISS BECAUSE OF PERCENTAGES. IF U KNOW UR SHOT IT SHOULD GO IN.
@@YourFavoriteCoolCousin you disagree that because a child has muscle memory and can time his shot that it was ruining the game see this is the damn problem you yall are trying to make this game weird because you couldn’t guard a child? For anyone saying they want a realistic basketball game and that it should mimic the nba then let’s be realistic all the way. I should be able to control whatever animation I want whenever I want to. The game shouldn’t choose for me. I should be able to work on whatever I’m weak on and not be limited by attribute caps. If I suck at middys then I can start practicing and get better at them. No one should complain about post scorers especially if they taller than you since that’s how real life would be. If I’m 7’3 post scorer then no one should be able to stop majority of the times unless they are similar in height and strength simple as that. A 6’3 guard should not be able to stop me ever in the paint.
I thought that this is what they were trying to do. But a lot of creators are crying about the game wanting it to be more arcade. 5v5 should ALWAYS BE SIM STYLE, those creators want 5v5 to be unrealistic/arcade too. They can go to the theater or park for that arcade NBA Jam style shit.
This is definitely one thing that would move 2K in the right direction. But even more importantly is giving more control back to the player in general. It's too difficult/sluggish to do simple movements in this game. They're so focused on "realism" that they baked in all of these animations to the game but the game itself isn't smart enough to accurately decipher when it makes sense for the animations to play out, which makes the animations a hindrance to a quality experience. And on an even more basic portion of that, little things like trying to raise your arms to contest, or pulling up player icons on the court, entering/exiting post position, running out of the paint to avoid a 3 second violation, shooting right off a catch without a delay whether it be a jumper from 3 or a layup/dunk in the restricted area, pump faking when you tap square and not throwing up a very early shot, etc. The gameplay mechanics themselves are very broken, but this isn't new or exclusive to 2K25. There are little glitches and problems that have been problems for years that tells me there's very little actual testing that 2K does with their games before they release them and it's sad because the only place they truly innovate is with how to drain more money from their player base quicker.
i think they're on the right path, new dribble engine, new smooth animations, rhythm shooting, once they fine tune these things out i think we'll get a good product. I don't think the game should 'make' ppl having a similar % rating than the NBA, thats just ridiculous. If you can time it then you should be able to hit it. Call it RNG, call it random animations, 2k really went overboard with that stuff this year..
Perfect game for me would be realistic movement with dribbling, less deep outlet passes so there’s more half court offense games, less passing lane steals on the perimeter, reduced screen effects, and more balanced rebounding where 1 player on the team isn’t getting all the rebounds. Then shooting, dunks, layups should be timing based where the green window is effected by attributes, badges, defenses badges, and contest. This would be a good balance between sim and comp.
They had the right idea with high risk green or make if you time it you make it the problem I think is you’ll put these in the same match with low risk and normal risk
I want a simulation game. I want shooting to be hard. I want people with high layup to be able to make contested layup consistently. If people are 7'3 in the paint doing a close shot unless u 6'10 plus you shouldnt be able to contest them. I want lane steals way worse unless you got 95+ steal. I want reach in fouls and 3 second violations to rarely be called like real life. I want centers and high block ppl to be able to swat dunks way easier. To contest ppl you should actually have to contest them not just put a hand up behind someone and make them brick a layup. High strength should matter even more and so should height when you try and drive through ppl and the lane. Not 7 footers with strength getting stone walled on a drive by a small guard. High defense 90+ should matter more. I can go on and on but i just want the game to be as realistic as possible
You need to be a game developer because this is very much needed I HATE THIS YEAR 2k I shot so well on 2k24 but shoot terrible on 25 I don’t enjoy ts at all
Make Rec, Theatre & Starting 5 for Simnation. ProAm & Park for Comp Proving Grounds can be a happy medium but leaning more to comp. Events should be comp sliders. And let us play myCareer with friends on the same NBA teams incase the game is dogsh**
There are so many aspects to this game. You have the ability to control an entire team and be strategic. Why does shooting, which is only one small part of the game, determine your opinion?
Mike want already said he wants to bring shooting percentages down. You don’t enjoy the game because you can’t shoot with a 99 3 pt rating? Thats a you problem
I think the devs should continue creating whatever game they feel like creating and letting the people who have an issue with it find another game to play. Can't cater to everyone...they've tried this numerous times and it never works. Shot profiles is an example... somehow people are finding a way to complain about what other people choose to use. They gave us casual and competitive modes (with proving grounds) and people still choose to play the casual modes and then complain about people making whites.
They could solve a lot of issues if they adopted from Madden, competitive arcade and SIM styles and just have modes representative of what you would prefer to play
2k25 isn’t HORRIBLE. Its inconsistent. ProPlay has turned this game into an animation fest, the sliders are tuned awfully to where 2k actually MAKES you miss. Go green 4 shots in a row if you even can and watch how the 5th shot is a very early or very late.
All they need to do is make builds free, and actually grindable like other games. Yeah you should still have the option to buy VC if you want to skip grinding your build, but it shouldn’t be required to actually have fun on the game. If they fix this 1 issue, then 2k may be saved.
That’s what they are doing now in their heads this is that All they did was make the grind unbearable so your forced to spend money or actually play this trash
@@alexnather7614uh the gameplay was arcade bro I was dribbling like a god with a 7’3 back then doing curry slide, they had park cards as well 2k15-17 were so arcade
Great vid, Tutes. I think they're leaning the way you described and this year was the first attempt. They're definitely experimenting with the sliders and introducing "randomness" as a factor. I feel like they maxed gameplay mechanics last year and when people still complained, they focused on giving each sector of the community its own space this year.
I’m not sure if you’re using an umbrella to define arcade and competitive as the same, but they aren’t. Simulation, competitive and arcade are the 3 main game types when it comes to games like these. On the football side, your simulation is NFL 2k5, your arcade is NFL blitz, and your competitive is Madden. On the basketball side, your simulation is 2ks myLeague/mygm, your arcade is nba jam, and your competitive is 2k my career online game modes. For shooters your simulation is milsims like squad, he’ll let loose, etc. your arcade is games like doom, splatoon, etc. your competitive is COD, battlefield, etc. If you are grouping arcade with competitive as the same type of games, I would say I disagree. Competitive is a blend of simulation and arcade without the extremes of either, while maintaining that player skill means more than anything. Which is why 2k25 is thought of as a more simulation game than competitive because player skill isn’t the defining factor. The randomness is. Imagine in call of duty, you get a 20 kill streak then randomly your bullets start shooting everywhere but where you’re aiming. Imagine in madden your making beautiful throws with precision passing then randomly your QB throws the ball 10 yards away from the receiver. These things are realistic, and don’t belong in a competitive game. These are the types of things that happen in 2k25, that didn’t happen in previous years as consistent. So competitive is a blend of simulation and realism. Call of duty has bullet velocity and drop (simulation), while maintaining slide cancelling (arcade). Those are just some examples of what a competitive game brings in from both simulation and arcade. At the end of the day, a competitive game is going to draw aspects from both, but ensuring the aspects it brings in contributes to player skill meaning more than anything. And 2k has always been competitive more than simulation in its online modes despite being marketed and licensed as simulation. 2k has player attributes contributing to player success in said attribute (simulation) but at the same time it also has stuff like left right cheese, and unrealistic dribble moves (arcade) all while promoting if you’re good enough, you can shoot with a low 3 pointer, you can dribble with low ball handle (Competitive). This year all of that is thrown out of the window due to the randomness in shooting, rebounding, layups. Everything.
I just recently graduated from college & played D2 basketball. Walk-on players (guards usually) were required to hit 70-80% of their wide open 3s during the tryouts & scrims. So imagine what Stephen Curry would do wide open ***he’s hit 105 3s in a row wide open on video***. Steph Curry’s shots are contested 90-95% of the time & he’s hitting 40-45% of them. Most 2k players are taking wide open, open or lightly contested shots. It’s as if these Sim nation gurus don’t watch or even play basketball, just stat checkers trying to live out their hoop fantasies in a game.
This is a great idea but they need to reduce some of the other modes because the player base is already split between so many different places park rec proving grounds starting 5 etc
I want more simulation, as I'm a 100% offline player. Sadly, most SIM fans spend more time in the offline modes, the MyLeague (myera) and MyGM modes, modes which 2K has absolutely no interest in.
Just for clarification. I said that because in a basketball game based on real players shooting “real” percentages shouldn’t ruin the gaming experience. I like the reality of even if I’m “perfect”I still might miss because that is what makes the sport enjoyable in my opinion. For whatever reason if people don’t like that then that’s fine and maybe 2K should have a “street” style game with arcading things such as 70-80% 3 point percentage. I personally wouldn’t find it fun and that’s ok. Just have 2 separate games.
Community complains so much its insane. The goat shooters, shoot 50% wide open in games. The best defenders get 2-3 steals/blocks a game. The best ball handlers get 2-4 turnovers a game. Everyone thinks they're the goat so i hurts their egos to fail, but if you play within yourself, this is one of the best 2ks ever (minus the macrotransactions). It rewards consistently taking good shots throughout the game, not spamming dribble moves and corner fades while your teammates die of boredom. In the long run the rng matters less and the people who take better shots, win more games
To the folks who want us to shoot 42%. That is Steph being guarded by NBA talent. We play city/park/rec games where defenders leave high 3 ball players WIDE OPEN. Steph gets picked up at half court for a reason. People are missing wide open on the line threes with 99 three in 2k25. This should not be easy to do. Unless youre guarded or contested i would hope that should be 1/4 of your shot meter. The contest/perimeter guarding system needs to be refined in my opinion. Its not a great system and its too hard to stay in front of a person with screens even with 99 perim def. Steph isnt missing wide open from the three on the line. 58% of the time anyway. 2k players are shooting worse than that sometimes with 90+ three ball.
Mike Wang has flat out cooked the game. I get him and Ronnie cop it every year no matter what but this game is AWFUL. Put the green window back. They've added moving windows and cues yet still won't let you green every shot lmao. Even if you LEARNT every timing and release you still won't make the shot. That's the problem. Just turn off being able to green in general and make everyone shoot on real player shooting profiles. And I'm not even talking about low 3 point builds. If you have a high as 3 ball, if you're good enough, you should be able to make every open shot. And why do they not know how to patch and buff badges? They either buff it to the moon or kill it completely. And why is the paint defence always cooked every single year? And why do animations affect your attributes and player more than the actual attribute? If I have on a different motion style and have more speed than the next man, he's still faster though because he's zooming like Alex Caruso. The game is chalked. I'd happily take McGrady heavys in the mouth on 2k24 over this flip a coin game lmao.
Listen to this big. I made a 5’9 pg 185 lbs and the only body types I get are big bulky guard styles. Even on normal I look like a 250lb linebacker… it’s just crazy, I just sent it to 2k so they can try to figure it out.. I’ve seen my identical build with a smaller framed players body so it doesn’t make sense that it’s not available for me even though I have all my workouts done
The game ain’t too real , it’s just the mechanics & animations suck. Can’t call a game too real when the best build is an unrealistic build. Name 1 5’9 player that played/plays that was elite in every category???
I ALWAYS thought this was EXTREMELY simple. Make park Arcadey. You already have specific dunks, passes, celebrations, attire etc. make rec sim. Best of both worlds
The game aint simulation or it aint arcade either. It just sucks. The movement is slow and clunky you dont make shots you should make. You cant play different playstyles. Only screen and shoot 3s.
I agree to the fact that the best players in the nba (and so our MP’s) doesn’t need that much space to knock down shots, but man defense is so weak compared to offense in this game. I have a 99 perimeter lock who get stun animations guarding pgs with
I agree with what 2K is trying to achieve with more realistic outcomes, but I think it's just the implementation that is being done poorly. When it comes to shooting, for example, the way they've introduced this randomness feels bad because the game always PRESENTS it as YOU screwing up by being late or early. This causes confusion and frustration because you don't know if it really was your poor timing or the game that caused the miss, and it gives you this helpless feeling because you don't know how to do better, or if you even can. My hot take: No more greens or guaranteed makes for people to expect. Everything's white and well timed shots are simply more likely to go in along an appropriate curve based on attributes/heat/etc. This would make it feel natural and better, and less like a video game with frustrating mechanics.
Yep. Take greens out if they want it to be realistic (even though myself and majority of people are against it.) Or make it if you time your shot correctly, it can still miss like how they did in older 2ks.
The way this game just dictates your animations and your shot timing is straight up highway robbery to the consumers. Each game feels different, I don’t even know what to expect when I play. I’ve spent considerable time learning my jump shot in each shot style and I wish I never did. I tried making another build just to play a different style and I increased shooting to have hall of fame and legend badges and ended up shooting worse than my original build with a 78 3pt and 85 middy. I don’t even care about winning, I just want it to make sense and that’s on me thinking 2K ever would care about the game play after they get your money.
I had suggested awhile back on Reddit last year just before 2K25 that they stop game development for “current gen” and split the game into simulation and arcade.
That might be a great solution. I actually like this years game. I guess I’m just not a complicated person. If I miss shots I’m trying something else to help the team win. I hope they make a nba street game for the ppl who just want unrealistic animations
Whether it’s RNG or Attributes/Badges contrasting and creating different odds based every player match up remains insignificant. The game itself is based off inconsistent play which creates players questioning themselves leading to new builds, boosts and time on game. If it creates increased monetary gain. Then it’s a win. It’s never based on quality. It’s exactly why the servers have no improved over a decade.
I disagree with the person here 0:29 Passes stunning defenders is something 2K added to make sure players couldn't "guard 2 people." That's the opposite of simulation Ankle breakers at random and pump fakes making you jump is more arcadey than anything They patched the steal thing but that was just steals being overtuned. Nothing to do with simulation If you're missing shots that you "timed right," you didnt time it right. If you don't hit 100% of your shots in practice, don't expect to hit 100% in game Personally, I would say anything in between is the best. Have aspects of both, but don't lean too far either way. A couple changes either way and we have a great game
The ONLY problem with this idea which I agree could work, is that they need dedicated servers & they will never do that. Until they create those, 2k will continue to be the same thing every single year.
They don’t need to add a new server for that. It’s just like a new room. You know when you quit my career and when you enter again then suddenly you're with different set of players? that's like a new room.
The attribute system this year is disappointed, especially the cap breaker system. Most of the teams in 3 vs 3 game contain a guard with a 99 3pt rating and over 90 steal rating, a forward with 99 perimeter defensive rating plus a 99 steal rating, as well as a center with 99 rebounds rating and 95 strength and over 90 rating on block. Its actually boring to face this kind of team.
That’s not 2k fault though lol ppl have been doing this for years. That’s how most content creators get their content. Making little guard builds that only hide behind screens to shoot and then he has 2 teammates who sit in each corner with high defense.
Despite all the bs we deal with… and this might be a hot take… but if you look pass the bs the game is actually really fun. My main issues are the people who play like idiots, certain gameplay aspects and matchmaking.
It’s not hard to figure out both sides slick want the same thing, if I time my shot correctly let it go in regardless of coverage… shooting is the biggest sticking point because it feels like you are literally being lied to about your timing. And on defense fix rebounds and paint defense… that’s simple
Rng isnt totally bad. Someone with a 60 three ball/60 rebound should still be able to do those things now and then. However, there should be less rng the higher your ratings are. A 99 three ball should have almost no rng. A 99 perimeter d should drastically reduce offense’s effectiveness. Something in the middle like 85 passing should only throw bad passes when off balance or when there is no passing lane. Basketball is a random game at times but elite professional players can definitely consistently do the things they are good at. Curry is probably not going to miss an open 3. A contested one maybe but not open. 2k should allow some randomness otherwise players with lower ratings will never be able to beat players with higher ratings in certain areas, but it should not be overwhelming. Ratings/positioning/openness/etc. need to matter more.
take in Stephen Curry’s shot percentage when there’s no defense on him. he’ll probably make 9times out of 10. now to fix that problem in 2K, make perimeter defense mean something. if you do that, you probably would see it getting closer to 40%
I don't think you can divide up the community like that. We'll be waiting for matches forever. I think people just need to accept each game is going to be different. Some games I can't miss, some games all bricks. Almost always if I'm shooting poorly like 3-10 or something, my team mates are also shooting like 3-10. I'm shooting about 40% from 3 w/ my 6'11 with an 83 3-ball. Weird dynamics like if I wait to shoot while I'm open I miss more often. You should be rewarded for taking your time. I don't know how to fix it.
We cant compare Steph Currys 40% when he’s running away from double teams//the whole team blitzing him & shooting crazy shots versus me standing in the corner not moving wide open while my defender flops on the floor bc he knows i can’t keep greening 😂 Thats the problem with forcing/scripting & rng… ur using rng to force “realism” with no context.
Cheaters ruined the game because they made it impossible to not cheat to be good, just so you can enjoy not facing all the sweats in the 3 to 4 casual games u can play as a random. And that's the thing we want to be like a real life game, where I need a skill so that I can portray that skill and show what I can do, but if I make a rebounder and get out rebounded by people who are just getting lucky animations, u take all the skill away because it becomes a dice roll and nobody has skill on throwing a dice and getting the same number everytime unless u are very lucky and get it 2 3 times in a row RNG has to be the worst thing in 2k history and I remember the cheesy post scorers
No u have to factor what makes most money. People under 18 will spend way less then someone older and older players want more skill where u have higher rating and know ur time u can green 60% plus
My NBA2K26 wishlist *Central US server *Separate BlackTop mode for “arcade” sliders while the park can be reserved for “sim” *Remove real player % layups *Remove low risk shooting while tweaking the numbers so that medium risk never surpasses 48% *Revamp or REVERT the dribbling system *Fix weird game speed/animation speed fluctuation issues *Fix the INTERIOR DEFENSE, nobody in the NBA is consistently scoring on good defense triple contested *introduce an optional “R3” LAYUP input *introduce report and commend screen post game allowing the playerbase to be separated based on “goodwill” as it’s called in smite *No new guard animations. ACTUALLY introduce new Wing and Big animations, signature styles, movement styles, blocks, rebounds everything *Fix whatever is keeping the AI from contesting/jumping at layup attempts
Mike Wang has made the game progressively worse every year. The game plays like slow like itself on N64. They want to make a sim game that’s fine. They won’t get a dime out of me. But they’ll still profits because there are idiots out there willing to continue to fall for these fake promises of changes to the game year after year. As long as there are dummies willing to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on a bad basketball game, just because it’s the only one. 2k will keep doing what they’re doing.
Just makes the game arcade based and make a center in the city there tht have more simulation properties. Get rid of the unnecessary animations.the overall game should cater to arcade. Ppl will play both
I’ll say this, curry shoots a lot of contested jumpers and makes em. Give curry the easy open looks we get at 2k players cause no one plays defense and he’d shoot 60%
Let's put it like this. Which 2ks were more popular and liked? 16, 17, 19, 20, 22 or 23, 24, and 25? The answer is 16, 17, 19, 20, and 22 because they were arcade. If you're gonna bring up Steph curry shooting 40% from three you think people wanna make a 92-99 3pt rating build to shoot 40%? Do you know how dumb that sounds? Let's look at how 22 and 20 were. Those games were so fun as they were easy to shoot since there was only shot timing, easy dribbling, and fast movement. 2k25 is the complete opposite it is slow, multiple shot timings, bad dribbling and movement. It's like 2k didn't even create this game given that not too long ago they released 22 and 20 making this unrecognizable. How could you possibly prefer shooting 40%-60% over 60%-80%? Do you like missing shots with this overcomplicated shooting system and do you like moving slow? Also a lot of people say shooting in 2k22 is easy but It's easy if you played this game a lot. For people that are casuals your still having to time the shot within MILLISECONDS so its not that easy. Those casuals were not that great at getting open and since they don't play everyday timing within the milliseconds is not easy. Also against great players it's hard to shoot perfect because they play good defense making you take bad shots. In those games I was able to green wide open and late contests as long as I knew my shot but greening with good contests really happened. I don't know what 2k was thinking with this game. Theres a reason why the arcade 2ks were more popular it's a video game. I feel like the arcade 2ks still are more fun for casuals because they can green at 50% but not 60%-80% like the great players.
Thats allot for one mode my guy... We got to crunch that down, but the idea is realistic. Would help but at the same time it's a waste if the popularity wants the competitive version but complain about the variables that come with it...
Good defense better offense if you time that layup right and green it you should make doesn't matter if that player jumped to contest you, same for shots etc thats realistic you see it in the nba and in streetball, also most shots nba players take are contested aswell, so curry for example is making about 40 percent of his shots while being contested most of the time but if he is left open he is most defiantly making it more than 70 percent of the time, but all these shots that these comp players are taking are open 90% of the time so why should they be missing open shots if they time it right and know how to get open thats exactly why they shoot so well.
If they would have listened to my suggestion about the builder being similar to 2k14 n 19 and also add a online mycareer where u can face up to 29 different friends all competing for championships mvps endorsements n others den we wouldn’t b here also reverting the badge system to 2k13 where u have 6 badges total from hundreds where u can buy with vc to the max badge s
The competitive players said they needed something to seperate them from casuals and 2k intro'd a new shooting mechanic and they cried. Then they started quiting to keep their records intact! I laugh at all the babies that want a new game and then bitch to 2k about new mechanics. Real ones adapt😂
Tuts I respect your opinion, but Mike Wang determining what our make percentage is - is the problem. Shooting is very simple. Your rating should determine how big your green window is and if you release the ball in the green window, you should be rewarded with making a shot NBA 2K is a video game and nothing about it is realistic if I have a 99 three-point shot I should be able to make all 10 of 10 of my shots that I take that is how video games work Mike Wang making me miss wide open shots just so that I shoot at 42% is the problem. Ironically on the other hand centers could drop step and dunk the ball very efficiently 10 out of 10 times with their 99 strength and post control. And on top of all that 2K deliberately hinders your movement with the ball so that you can’t get the ability to get open so that you can make the wide-open shots. Over complicating very simple things is literally the problem.
I think simulation with arcade traits and lower* rng would work. Like we dont need to shoot just like it is in real life, because its a game. But it make sure the toxic players dont completely dominate the playing field, some rng is needed
@@hunterjablonski7357 okay so either find a way to beat players who go 7/7 from 3 each game or play something else? it will literally come down to who gets the ball first or who misses first shot loses. the casual player will have no place in the park, theater, rec etc
@@nba2ktutes i meant to say lower rng, but they also have to find a better balance with the builds. i feel like defense is always overlooked and offense will always overpower it, which i get they want it exciting for the common player. but if someone invests in high defense, it should force the common guard to find other ways to score

I love you Tutes, but I feel you over analyzed this one (even though you summarized). The only real problem in which 90% of all those issues go away or if they invest more money and their servers and server connection speeds. I can say across the board everyone would be happier.
Thanks for the love. I'm not sure if you actually watched the whole because at 5:22 I mentioned that fixing the servers will always be the best thing to do but realistically speaking i don't think they can do that, that's why I made the suggestion about splitting arcade and sim

It's all GREED.
And then repeat it all next year and penalize you if you prefer to play the older game by shutting off the servers

No one is doing that in real life without getting tired or losing the ball.
shut this sht up u complaining about left right patches movement all around which is y we cant dribble normal now shut up and guard
Vacuum screens are so stupid. You can be going in the opposite direction and still get trucked by them. There's no skill involved.
It’s the only way to score against good defense and zone.
Screens are literally blackholes online, worse part is they DO NOT have the same effect in offline modes. Shit is ridiculous.
@@Guntages work on your post game
The thing with “making it easier to shoot” is they would HAVE to make defense and the contest system better. 2k23 last gen is what I played in 23, and that contest system felt amazing other than some inconsistency’s in the interior. But you had people shooting 60%, but good defense could shut them out. That’s almost impossible this 2k.
No body has time to grind these days, there's so many games out there to play.
2K has too much grind.
Ppl who are talking about real life Steph Curry 3pt percentage, the NBA has defensive schemes and Steph is not shooting all of his shots WIDE OPEN! Most of the time, his shots are HEAVILY CONTESTED. You let curry take every shot WIDE OPEN and he’ll shoot 70% for the season.
thank you, people don't understand this. if curry is taking wide open corner 3's all game he is not shooting 5/10.
@@hunterjablonski7357we dnt play 12 min quarters we dnt want realistic percentages
Bruh curry goes 5/15 almost every night when he’s at he’s best he’ll miss 3-5 out of the 15 it’s a lot more rare than people thinks
I've said this many times. Wide open make percentage with no close out is not the same as taking a slightly contested shot.
Nba Live 10 was the last decent one with Dwight on the cover
yup he ruined live now he doing the same thing to 2k next he gone go to madden
You all misinterpreted; Wang only made one NBA Live game, Live 10, which was financially successful and considered the best NBA Live ever. Then he returned to NBA 2K. He literally made every 2k from 06-25
@killar3g he left 2k in 2007-08 and signed with EA like I said, then left there and went back to 2k like I previously stated and I liked live 10 hated when he left because I didn't like 2k
@ no he actually didn’t leave until live 11 which is live elite which was by far the worst game they made he did both 2K 11 and live. That was his last game.
Here is the fix:
-Open shots you time go in
-Covered shots drastically reduce make % (legendary deadeye let’s you make light contests consistently)
-Bring back last years dunk meter
-Make floaters viable
I think the release speed alternating was a great idea, adds more skill and realism. But if they add such mechanics they have to fix release queues to coincide with EACH green window. Servers and input lag fixes would probably make 2k feel a lot better as well. Even maneuvering in the city feels more delayed than games made 20 years ago
There’s 3 different shot timings and yall are still complaining about this game. There is a ranked mode in this game. It’s called pro am and proving grounds.
This would make the game very boring and people would have very very similar builds. There would be less diversity and people would play the same way.
Pure sim for rec and pro am and arcade for theatre and park easy fix
This^
I thought that this is what they were trying to do.
That’s what I’ve been saying, they have a great foundation but they need to figure out how to build on it
Perfect game for me would be realistic movement with dribbling, less deep outlet passes so there’s more half court offense games, less passing lane steals on the perimeter, reduced screen effects, and more balanced rebounding where 1 player on the team isn’t getting all the rebounds.
They simply need to hire you and fix the shooting
ProAm & Park for Comp
Proving Grounds can be a happy medium but leaning more to comp.
I've been saying for years, give rec/5v5 to sims and park/3v3 to arcade. It's 2k's best chance at making everyone happy-ish
The game just feels like a dice roll.
I hope the people who are defending this game know it's been made to be nicer to players who are awful at the game lmao.
Online competitive multiplayer modes need to be Comp. Simulation is just way too deflating.
That’s what they are doing now in their heads this is that
All they did was make the grind unbearable so your forced to spend money or actually play this trash

This is a great idea but they need to reduce some of the other modes because the player base is already split between so many different places park rec proving grounds starting 5 etc
don’t forget gravity ball😜
I want more simulation, as I'm a 100% offline player. Sadly, most SIM fans spend more time in the offline modes, the MyLeague (myera) and MyGM modes, modes which 2K has absolutely no interest in.
Yes its an easy fix , we been asking for years. This is the first time ive seen a video on it. Thank you.
I'm all for simulation. I like shooting only 55% from 3 instead of 75%. These arcade casuals need to go play NBA Streets or something.
Hardest working man in the 2k community. Appreciate everything you do for us mane
This doesn't need a debate. If you make the game lean more towards simulation and the playerbase leaves than the playerbase has spoken.
The game ain’t too real , it’s just the mechanics & animations suck. Can’t call a game too real when the best build is an unrealistic build. Name 1 5’9 player that played/plays that was elite in every category???
@nba2k hire this man asap
I ALWAYS thought this was EXTREMELY simple. Make park Arcadey. You already have specific dunks, passes, celebrations, attire etc. make rec sim. Best of both worlds
Yes high 3 ball shoot be shooting 60% plus. Cuz then what's the point of high 3 ball
NBA live should step in the market with a super simulated game to give players options.
I disagree with the person here 0:29
Passes stunning defenders is something 2K added to make sure players couldn't "guard 2 people." That's the opposite of simulation
Ankle breakers at random and pump fakes making you jump is more arcadey than anything
They patched the steal thing but that was just steals being overtuned. Nothing to do with simulation
If you're missing shots that you "timed right," you didnt time it right. If you don't hit 100% of your shots in practice, don't expect to hit 100% in game
Personally, I would say anything in between is the best. Have aspects of both, but don't lean too far either way. A couple changes either way and we have a great game
2k takes too much skill to play for the average player nowadays. 2k forgot that not everyone plays competitively or meta
Make open shots easy again for everybody, give the comp dudes their speed boosting back but make it extremely hard to shoot contested and fix interior
Great idea Tutes!
Ratings/positioning/openness/etc. need to matter more.
take in Stephen Curry’s shot percentage when there’s no defense on him. he’ll probably make 9times out of 10. now to fix that problem in 2K, make perimeter defense mean something. if you do that, you probably would see it getting closer to 40%
They going to see no one will be in simulation mode . When their games taking forever to start that's the old head lobby .
That’s the thing, i don’t think most players will accept that.
4:46 female players at 1.4% but they want female players in the park 😂😂😂
We cant compare Steph Currys 40% when he’s running away from double teams//the whole team blitzing him & shooting crazy shots versus me standing in the corner not moving wide open while my defender flops on the floor bc he knows i can’t keep greening 😂
Thats the problem with forcing/scripting & rng… ur using rng to force “realism” with no context.
You can’t have a realistic game while allowing us to make unrealistic builds. That’s the problem.
Cheaters ruined the game because they made it impossible to not cheat to be good, just so you can enjoy not facing all the sweats in the 3 to 4 casual games u can play as a random.
And that's the thing we want to be like a real life game, where I need a skill so that I can portray that skill and show what I can do, but if I make a rebounder and get out rebounded by people who are just getting lucky animations, u take all the skill away because it becomes a dice roll and nobody has skill on throwing a dice and getting the same number everytime unless u are very lucky and get it 2 3 times in a row
RNG has to be the worst thing in 2k history and I remember the cheesy post scorers
No u have to factor what makes most money. People under 18 will spend way less then someone older and older players want more skill where u have higher rating and know ur time u can green 60% plus
My NBA2K26 wishlist
*Central US server
*Separate BlackTop mode for “arcade” sliders while the park can be reserved for “sim”
*Remove real player % layups
*Remove low risk shooting while tweaking the numbers so that medium risk never surpasses 48%
*Revamp or REVERT the dribbling system
*Fix weird game speed/animation speed fluctuation issues
*Fix the INTERIOR DEFENSE, nobody in the NBA is consistently scoring on good defense triple contested
*introduce an optional “R3” LAYUP input
*introduce report and commend screen post game allowing the playerbase to be separated based on “goodwill” as it’s called in smite
*No new guard animations. ACTUALLY introduce new Wing and Big animations, signature styles, movement styles, blocks, rebounds everything
*Fix whatever is keeping the AI from contesting/jumping at layup attempts
Ppl will play both
Watch they will get rid of attributes and have only badges and you get to pick what you want, and have a limit!
How tf can anyone justify rng shooting? Only bums who couldn’t shoot in past 2ks support that bs decision
Bruh they need to go back to 2k19 gameplay . Add green or miss . Boom perfect game in my opinion
They needa give yo ass a job man 😂💯
The competitive players said they needed something to seperate them from casuals and 2k intro'd a new shooting mechanic and they cried.
Didn’t buy this year 🙏
5:40 great idea
I think simulation with arcade traits and lower* rng would work. Like we dont need to shoot just like it is in real life, because its a game. But it make sure the toxic players dont completely dominate the playing field, some rng is needed
"simulation with arcade traits", I think that's want 2k wants to achieve...but I think they are having a hard time doing it..as it's too subjective.
rng shouldn't be in the game at all when it comes to shooting
@@hunterjablonski7357 okay so either find a way to beat players who go 7/7 from 3 each game or play something else? it will literally come down to who gets the ball first or who misses first shot loses. the casual player will have no place in the park, theater, rec etc
@@nba2ktutes i meant to say lower rng, but they also have to find a better balance with the builds. i feel like defense is always overlooked and offense will always overpower it, which i get they want it exciting for the common player. but if someone invests in high defense, it should force the common guard to find other ways to score
@@Flock2xthen get good enough to shoot as good as him. if the game is more arcadey, it actually won’t be that hard if your shooting good shots. I don’t see the issue here lmao just get good
Take off real player percentage and normal and low risk. Simple
True simulation does t have meta is this dribbling realistic ?
I seen somebody shoot in somebody face with a 99 perimeter defense
WHAT IF. the cap breaker is a sham. 94 3ball + 5 cap breaker for badges is just 94 with legend badges🤔 the 99 attribute is a placebo effect. I may have to try this
Bruh they put 2xrep today, they crazy for that. Aint no way im playing that 😂
Whats to discuss , you get what you press , whats the point presing buttons if games does what it wants RNG , hows this even a discussion
They need to change rng and add fouls back I can’t get a single foul it’s crazy
fix dunk contact meter animations
I love you Tutes, but I feel you over analyzed this one (even though you summarized).
The only real problem in which 90% of all those issues go away or if they invest more money and their servers and server connection speeds. I can say across the board everyone would be happier.
Thanks for the love. I'm not sure if you actually watched the whole because at 5:22 I mentioned that fixing the servers will always be the best thing to do but realistically speaking i don't think they can do that, that's why I made the suggestion about splitting arcade and sim
Lmaooo your a npc
I been saying y hey he's 2 games for years so I agree with your idea completely
