When Lover came out I didn’t know what to make of it, simply because the jump from 1989 to rep to Lover was such a whiplash, it took me a while to form an objective opinion about this album. Do I like this album? Yep, I ranked it as my top 5 Taylor album because the deep cuts were so good, but the lows were so low (mostly the singles) that I couldn’t give it higher than rank 5. I call this album polarizing, some Swifties really think it’s her worst, some Swifties love it. But it’s not a “flop”, it’s still one of the most streamed Taylor album (well, thanks to Cruel Summer and the title track), and it was the most bought album in 2019.
@@nixllamas9823 oh yeah definitely not a flop or anything of the sort. Just not my vibe as much as 1989 and rep were, however I do be streaming some of the songs a lot 👀

Some lyrics on this album are very cringe, silly, immature compared to other albums of her. In Miss Americana you can see that based by fear Taylor was trying so hard to make Lover a big hit, and when you make art with this intention it takes away the authenticity and organic factor of the art itself, and the album.
