He was definitely the best drummer of his time. His independence and dynamics, chops, groove cant be matched. Insane

@drumdigger You're correct to say that DC uses/used the Earth Ride, but if you look at this video, say around 0.30, you can see hammer patterns on the cymbal that are consistent with a K Custom Brilliant. The Earth Ride has no hammer patterns. Also, I believe the sound is more like a K Custom than the Earth Ride, being pretty dark. If the video was clearer we could probably put the point beyond debate...!
@bea5ToloG There could be many reasons why he was playing on a sonor kit (Venue kit,Flight,etc.)
but it's all good he's playing on a old free floating pearl snare and pearl pedals....

The drums or Better yet the shells of his kit are a great finish. Just not u to seeing heads on his kit that look like he got the drums from a pawn shop SMH... but he killed it though

Amazing drummer should have stay with Sonor drums.
james mccarthy in the nineties on European tours American drummers played on not their one kits or endorsed ones. He did used a Pearl free floating snare and his own DW double pedal.
Just because a company makes great drums doesn’t necessarily mean they offer great support to touring artistes beyond top tier endorsers. Not all firms can guarantee they can provide kits or parts in remote locales or on short notice. Some firms do much better at this over time than others.
you can't argue about how awesome he is....but damn, those are some ugly ass drums! we'll blame it on the time period.
