My sister told me this story years ago. She was going to an appointment at this building that has a set of stairs. She started climbing, showing clear annoyance on her face. A man coming down the other way looks at her, stops and said “At least you still have your legs!” Several months later, I contracted bacterial meningitis and, as a result, lost my legs.
Well, I got slashed by this guy that two weeks later ended up murdering someone over €10. Stays with me, and I'll never forget how evil this person looked, cold dead eyes, and skinny, very skinny, but yea I'm lucky he didn't kill me.
When i was about 19 (young and dumb) i was in dayton ohio, at a steak n shake, getting ready to head back home after a weekend visitng family. A very large and disheveled man (probably 6' 250+lbs) asks me for a ride into the downtown area. It wasnt really out of my way, and naturally being 19 and feeling adventurous, I agree, so he hops in and off we go. Unfortunately, 10 minutes into the drive he starts demanding i take him to an atm, at first trying to give me half ass reasons (need to feed my kids, pay rent, etc) but after i refuse he starts getting extremely aggresive. Granted i Had a knife on me, and he didnt say anything about being armed himself, but the guy is an absolute unit, and I suddenly wasnt feeling so adventurous and invincible like i had moments before. Luckily, i stood my ground and began accelerating to about 65 in a 35, declaring that we would either wreck/die or get pulled over before i gave him a damn penny. He immediately backed down, and before the car even stopped rolling he was out the door. I will never pick up another hitchiker again, thats for sure!
