I stayed there a couple of years ago. Absolutely spectacular and an authentic pilgrim welcome which has become increasingly rare these days. Sadly up for sale now! The local speciality (often free as a tapa) is "spicy trout soup" (sopa de trruchas). And don't forget the local red Mencía wine from El Bierzo!
Hi olive. Did you do the Camino in mainly October 2023? I think I recognise you. My name is Frank. I’m sure we spoke to each other. Great videos by the way.
Hello Frank! Yes, I did walk the Camino from October 2nd to November 1st in 2023. Your name does sound familiar, and it's very likely we crossed paths and had a chat along the way. Thank you for reaching out, and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the videos! 😊
oops - just deleted my almost finished comment with one wrong click - bummer! So here I go again... ...the weather doesn't look so appealing... was probably more enjoyable, than it looks on screen though... and I liked, when you decided to just enjoy and be grateful for what it is! 💖 ...fond memories of passing through Hospital del Orbigo - such a cutie... and I can't believe that I missed to check out the albergue San Miguel - looks awesome... next time!! I'll always fondly remember Viana and Astorga for their uphill sites, with views far into the land - loved that so much... and at dusk flocks of bats would swirl around, even below the town level, and above the downs... I could live there for a while, maybe writing a book... 🌻 And now on to one of my favourite legs of the whole camino: from here til Villafranca del Bierzo - just awesome! Thank you, Olive, for another beautiful clip... this time you get in exchange one in honour of your channel's name (funny coincidence: I found it, when googling your channel, watched and liked it, so here it comes): th-cam.com/video/dnzSoMqOWDY/w-d-xo.html 😎
Thank you! 🧡 Oh no, the dreaded accidental delete! 🙈 It happens to all of us... 😄 The weather wasn't as friendly as I hoped, especially as I realised that my rain gear was far from good enough. But that's all part of the adventure, right? 😅 Your idea of living there sounds amazing, and it reminds me that the second albergue in the video had volunteers living there full-time for the season! Writing a book in those serene surroundings would be incredible. Thank you for sharing the clip! 😁 It seems both interesting and beautiful to watch. 🫒
Alburgue San Miguel is AWESOME! I stayed there in 2013! Loved it !
Your videos are so beautiful! Every detail.
Thank you so much! 😊
