  • Come explore the Nieuw Statendam with us!
Many people consider the Nieuw Statendam to be the finest ship in the Holland America fleet. We had 25 days to explore the ship as we sailed the Mediterranean. From the quirky artwork to the surprisingly likeable stage, come and see why this ship rates 2 thumbs up and is one of our very favorite cruise ships.

Wonderful! I hope you enjoy the ship as much as we did. We would sail it again anytime.

Hope you enjoy it! My wife and I have spent 51 days on Princess and 23 on HAL, and have trips scheduled on both in the next year. We also love sailing in September almost anywhere, so long as a hurricane is not involved. Let us know how you like it.

Have fun! We have booked a trip on a smaller HAL ship (Westerdam) next January, sailing from Australia to New Zealand. Looking forward to it!

It looks like the twin of Konningsdam, which we love, and are heading back in a few weeks. Thank you for the tour!

You are welcome! Apparently the three Pinnacle ships are all VERY similar. We just watched a "Fraser at Sea" walkthrough of the Rotterdam, and were amazed at how similar it was to our ship.
In January 2025 we are set to try out one of the smaller ships. We are doing a 14-day trip from Australia to New Zealand aboard the Westerdam. Looking forward to it!

Thank you for the video. We understand the new library will be opening soon and are looking forward to that when we sail on her in August.

The ship went into a short drydock that started the day we disembarked (Nov 9). They were adding the library, painting, and replacing buffet area carpet according to crew.
Cruise mapper says its in the middle of the Atlantic now, headed to Florida. So I think the library is already in. FYI, I wrote a novel several years ago. I autographed a copy and left it on the ship in the area where they had books out. Let me know if it's still there. It's called My Brother's Eye.

I'm currently onboard Rotterdam, and it's so interesting to see just how similar these ships are. Well done on the tour!

Thanks, Fraser. I really appreciate the encouragement. We are great fans of you and your channel. Have enjoyed seeing all the different ships you've taken. Our favorite videos were the ones before and through the Suez canal.

It’s the Grand Dutch Cafe, not Royal Dutch.

Absolutely right and I knew that. Obviously missed that on the editing cycle. Once I found out they served lattes earlier than in the Crow's Nest I went there for coffee every day. So you would think I wouldn't make that mistake.
