    Welcome to Rotterdam, the flagship cruise ship from Holland America Line! She was built in 2021, and so is the newest cruise ship in the fleet too!
    Rotterdam is the third Pinnacle Class cruise ship in the Holland America fleet, and in this video I'm going to give you a full, detailed ship tour of this ship. We'll cover every public venue, deck by deck, starting from the bottom and working our way to the top.
    I was onboard Rotterdam for a 21-night cruise (a 12 night, followed by a 9 night, so 'back to back') from Fort Lauderdale, into the Panama Canal, and around the Caribbean. I'll cover each venue, and also offer you some tips and advice from my experience onboard, to hopefully help you to have the best time possible on the ship yourself!
    If you enjoy this video, here's another that you might enjoy, from a VERY different cruise ship!

    Fraser. This is a wonderful presentation of MS Rotterdam. Actually, it is the best videography I have ever seen of the ship. The narration is perfect. The quality of the flowing images is flawless. I have sailed on Rotterdam before, but you have showed new angles and perspectives in a new light. As time goes by you keep getting better and better. …. Well done indeed!

    I've been on Rotterdam twice last year and the next cruise, again on Rotterdam is coming up in May. Thanks so much Fraser for this wonderful clip. This is the best description of the ship. The descriptions are spot-on! I've actually missed so many parts of the ship in the last cruises. Learned a lot from you 🙏🙏🙏

      Wow - I love that you’ve learned from this video even after being on the ship twice before - that’s great! Thanks so much for watching, and thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment - it’s so appreciated!!

    I been on several Holland American ships they aren't what I would call a typical cruise ship or an ocean liner they are a cross in between... They don't have all that flash of a cruise ship or the elegance of an ocean liner.... They still have the luxury and quality food and very friendly crew members plenty of bars, restaurants, and fine evening live entertainment shows and bands...

      Robert, thanks for watching! I’d agree - I was really impressed with my first taste of Holland - Rotterdam’s absolutely gorgeous, and really understated in parts!

    That was fun, it looks like a great ship. I did laugh when you came to Park West, I’ve a whole bunch of photos of me with those MARVELOUS ‘All dogs go to heaven’ paintings or prints or whatever the heck they are. Minus points for the smoky casino, terrible places! Gym-wise, NCL does chilled towels too

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’d love to say I’ve personally benefitted from the chilled towels in the gym, but I’m no liar, haha! She’s a wonderful ship, but I’d love that casino to turn no smoking - I just think it would annoy so much of their target audience though, unfortunately!
      Thanks, as always, for following along!!

    We love HAL and after your excellent video, we can't wait to go back on the Rotterdam in august this year. The staff, the fellow passengers, the food (especially the pinnacle grill), the differtent country's we will go to......142 days to go! This is going to be the first time in a inside cabin but i think it will be a great cruise again! Thank you for sharing your video.

    Hi, Thanks for posting. I looked at it long time ago and today. Before I was thinking about taking cruise with this ship or her sister ships. It was funny. I was on Maasdam in 2003. She was smaller and had 1,200 passengers. She had two swimming pools. I think 4 hot tubs. She was not crowds when I was on her last time. Few passengers show few videos of ship. Swimming Pool and some area were very crowds. I think she need three pools because she have 2,668 passengers. Twice more passengers than Maasdam. She carry same number of passengers as Queen Mary 2 but QM2 is bigger.

    Fraser, as ever a great vlog. Looking for your thoughts.... Wondering if you think the HAL product will vary significantly on whether it departs from the US or from Europe/UK ? Understand you have only seen 1 side of this but happy for you opinion on all things cruising! 😊

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmm, good point, although it didn’t feel very ‘american’ to be, so I’d be surprised if it were different. I wonder if the music might be a bit different, but that’s about it!

    I will be on Rotterdam in May for a Baltic cruise, but didn't add Have it All. Will I be missing out on a lot? Is the food in the MDR and Buffet of high quality? Will I regret this?

      Hey! I enjoyed Have it All, but it’s not critical for your experience - don’t worry! Have a look at the perks though - I found it very good value to add on there!
      I’ve got a HAL Dining guide - just search ‘Fraser at Sea Holland America Dining Guide’ and it’ll come up! 😊

    They allow smoking inside the casino, or half the casino at least? What prevents the stinky smoke smell from permeating the areas around the casino? Or is it an issue? Are they allowing smoking anywhere else too?? That is one impressive spa....looks like a true thalassotherapy (looked like it had a cold plunge). Daaaaaamn.

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No smoking elsewhere inside - only the designated outdoor areas! There is a non smoking section of the casino, and this is actually a separate room to the main gaming area, so does stay pretty clean in there.
      Hope you’re enjoying my channel!

    My advice, you need to obtain a Thesaurus. During your video you keep using the same adjectives over and over again, to describe venues. Use of a Thesaurus will help you expand your vocabulary and not reuse the same adjectives as much. Frankly, during the first few minutes of the video I was ready to stop viewing because your narration with the same verbiage over and over was very annoying to me and a lot like 'nails on a chaulkboard'.
    I wish you had included some views of the different cabin types and what they looked like inside. That would have been helpful in deciding what type of cabin to book. Also you didn't mention anything about the ship infrastructure like how crowded or slow/fast the elevators are, if there are restroom facilities to use, outside of your cabin, etc.

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Clifford, thanks for your comment, and for the feedback. Cabin types etc will follow in due course - I’m working through my content currently, so ‘stay tuned’ if you’d like to see more.
      Thanks for the feedback re: my use of basic vocabulary too - you’re actually the first person since I started the channel to be offended by it - I’m glad you didn’t stop viewing as a result.
      Have a good day.
