- Wiha Electricians hammer 42071 review
This German design Wiha hammer is a very well made and thoughtfully designed tool. Each time ive used it so far its been a please to use for me. Lightweight and yet capable for electrician use. This simply cant compete with full size claw hammers but then that's not what it is intended for. This is a specialist tool. Soft plate base might sound like a gimmick but I can see myself using it fair enough.
For me I'm giving this a 9 out of 10. It simply excels at its intended task so far. Shame its not German made now but this is the world we are being dragged, kicking and screaming into.

Commenting for the algorithm! Where have you been brother? We’ve missed you. Hope all is well.
Cheers. Back now I have been very unwell.
Actually it is a Hultafors Re-Brand. And they came out with a new model for 2025. Hltafors-H0619-claw-hammer-tr-el
I knew you were gonna say you hammer the wall anchors in with the bottom of the drill battery because that's exactly what I do.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I always feel terrible for doing it but I'm not messing about for ages and it works. I tell you what else I've used and it's bad. I used a hard hat before. It wasn't mine but it worked lovely 🤣.
@@TrailTrek Anything is a hammer in my books as long as it gets the job done and I can't be bothered going down the ladder! Main victim is usually the drill though, often times I'll also use the drill bit/driver and put it on the plug and whack the back of the drill to push the plug in 🤫
Wow, I can’t believe that wiha hammer is NOT made in Germany. For the price of those things, I’ve been saving up for one but knowing that it’s made in Asia makes me think it’s priced way too high, there’s a black one from another company that looks exactly the same, even the same price about.
Have one in my tool bag. Great little hammer
Had to order this after watching this
Great review!
Lidl did a Parkside insulated hammer, that I'm now regretting not buying!
It would have been good. I've used a few of the parkside items in mates houses and they aren't bad at all. But every time I pick one up I shout "Parkside" in the style of 'parklife' in the Blur song.
Great review,, I think the black section on the handle near the head is an extra "soft face", maybe for knocking on trunking lid, or such,,. I've had one of these for a long time and they're absolutely fantastic imho,,. I have to always remind myself not to over task it, (and get my beautiful Estwing out for heavier jobs,) ,
Also, Hultafors make an identical hammer, which is much more expensive..
Cheers,, 👍
I'm jusy surprised they make a sparkys hammer at all. Always use the impact battery for hammering in stuff. And if I ever need to take out a cable clip use the flat head, and use the Philips bit underneath to give something to lever the flat head against to pull them out.
Though clips into old hardwood you need a hammer for, though in those cases you want a proper hammer anyway. I just don't see much of a point to this, at least not for me, obvisually others see value in them since they make and sell tuem
