Crimson Guitars PRS Kit Guitar Build - Making The Neck

- Making a guitar neck is not as difficult as you think. In this video I go through several stages from cutting out the neck from the blank, making the fingerboard, cutting fret slots and installing frets.
The neck is two pieces of Maple sandwiching a piece of Indian Rosewood with veneer pinstripes. I use a combination of the bandsaw, router table & hand tools to achieve it.
This is part of a build utilising a PRS Kit body from @CrimsonCustomGuitars - the other videos are in a playlist you can find here:

Hello. What are the dimensions of this wooden block? I'm wanting to do it the same way.
Hi, thanks for watching, from memory the blank is 750mm long, 65mm wide (just wider than the template) & 75mm high to allow for the break angle of the headstock. If you’re making a laminate blank make sure to reverse the grain of the middle piece - this helps if there’s any movement in the wood, the alternate grain direction should cancel itself out.
Too much work.
Thanks for watching
I'm faster than you on the bandsaw.
Thanks for watching 👍
