  • In this video, I talk with ‪@KunalKushwaha‬ on a big confusion college students have: Software development or competitive coding? Should you pursue software development, building websites and apps or should you practice competitive coding problems, which path will get you more opportunities as a developer, what is the importance of learning data structures and algorithms and more in the part 2 of the interview with Kunal.

    CP vs Development ❌
    CP and Development ✔️
    Doing cp will make ur DSA problem solving like cake walk...and you need to do internship and make projects so that why u need to do Development as well...you can balance both...a good competitive programmer can do well in development too bcoz of his fast thinking ability... 🙂

    • @harshvardhanagrawal1187
      @harshvardhanagrawal1187 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Bro the problem is a why? Why to do it? I think listening to kunal hmgave me this reason i love competitive programming and because I wanted to do more of it ai avoided dev but now I think at the end we have to become software engineer and doing the actual work will always help so I think now that why is answered. And yes good competitive coder can do dev because of the thickskin build by getting wrong answers and learning how to build skills by doing cp.

    • @sudhanshujha9424
      @sudhanshujha9424 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@harshvardhanagrawal1187 As i said Cp will make ur DSA good which will be the main reason for you to get accepted in any product based company and yes we have to Development to bcoz there also many companies which select on the basis of projects/Devs....but at the end if u don't enjoy cp then u don't have to force urself to do it..u can do dev and dsa..

    • @harshvardhanagrawal1187
      @harshvardhanagrawal1187 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@sudhanshujha9424 yup thats what people are fighting people are telling that doing cp will be a sure shot to product based companies similarly they say about gsoc with dsa. What as a student I believe is following there path might be helpful but it reduces the actual fun of learning people aren't doing it because they enjoy doing cp or open source work they are doing it now because they want to make their resume ready for product based companies.
      To be more clear doing cp or being a contributor in gsoc or other open source things are achievements which are achieved when you do the things you like to do while dsa and knowing how to build a website is a skill which should be done for making your resume.

    Well, he is right I have seen many TH-cam Channels promoting Google and Microsoft jobs and they if you want to get a job at these companies you just have to watch their video or purchase a course from. I have a cousin who has recently got a job at Google and he got a 15 lakh ruppees per year package which is a decent salary but as compared to remote jobs.
    By the way I am currently in Class 8th and my parents are telling me to study harder and prepare for the IITs but the problem is I still don't know what I want to do and what I want to become.

      @@neelamsingh7243 see this where u get stuck. U keep on asking where to find, what to do. Most engineering first year student fall for this. U know i was in 12th I had no idea about engineering branches. Just cse is coding, mechanical is cars and stuff. I took a drop for jee in the drop year I focused on coding and machine learning courses and found out cse is my thing. This I got I couldn't get into iit cse but got into best Bangalore college cse. So having an aim is important not just studying IIT-JEE aimlessly. As for u. Start taking basic courses in coding like icse has java for 8th kids u can download their 8th class computer book pdf, u can look into other stuff as I am into computers I gave an example of coding. Also companies like Google pay like 18 lakhs per annum base which is less than a remote startup job pay but after working for 4-5 years in Google u can change ur role from let's say u started from sde 1 and then u become sde 2 then later after few years u become sde 3 whose annual base is 60 lpa close. Total package for sde 3 in Google is like 90 lakhs or more than 1cr depending on various factors. 1cr being in India not abroad. So remote startups are great at starting of ur career but someone from Google will earn more as he gains more experience.
