What Happens When a Chinese SPY SHIP Gets Too Close to a US Aircraft Carrier?

  • Ever wondered what goes down when a Chinese spy ship gets too close too a US aircraft carrier? When an unknown ship pops up on the radar of an American aircraft carrier, the crew swiftly jumps into action. But what exactly is a spy ship? These vessels are equipped with all sorts of gear to eavesdrop on communications, track movements, and gather information about other ships.
Their first move? Trying to figure out who's approaching by using binoculars and trying to make contact. Meanwhile, the captain gets the heads-up, and it's all hands on deck for assessing the situation.
As the spy ship gets dangerously close, the crew springs into action with a bunch of tricks to keep the carrier and its crew safe. They set up barriers and start using electronic warfare tactics to mess with the spy ship's surveillance and communication gear while keeping their own gear in check.

24 years plus retired Navy and you are correct. The ships which make up the battlegroup are there to protect the mothership at all costs. Airwing will almost always have aircraft on the catapults in Alert status, armed and ready to go. The real threat is the communications our enemies MAY be able to intercept and this is a big maybe since we always know they are there. Our adversaries mostly like to observe ships movement and operations for their own future benefit. The modern day battle group is the most powerful and capable mobile fortress in the world and they can learn a lot simply by watching. By the way, FORTUNATELY you did serve on an aircraft carrier! Thank you for your service.

I am a little bit suspicious of this video. Carriers are usually positioned in the middle of a "carrier group", that is, they are surrounded by other ships who shield it from external threats or attacks. It is hard to imagine any foreign ship slipping into the midst of the carrier group and getting close to the carrier itself. If this really did happen, then somebody wasn't doing their job and ought to have their asses kicked.

Any ship approaching a carrier not in a stateside port is approaching a battle group, with the carrier in the middle and warships all around. A "spy ship," or any other ship, will run into the cordon of support ships and aircraft from the carrier long before anyone onboard can see the carrier. An aircraft carrier at sea is one of the most protected places on earth.

This should be labeled under comedy. What does the crew do when a spy ship approaches, START SPYING ON THEM! Don't get me wrong I can't remember which general said this , "when a US Aircraft carrier shows up power changes hands quickly." It's a mobile military air force fully loaded with Navy officers, Seals and surrounded by battle ships. Let's not forget there could be a couple subs in striking position. Nobody wants to cross that line even if we go to war with them.

If you took a ship, for an example like the chinse one here, and instead of using propellers to move it, and you used to large jet engines (one one each side placed on custom made pods like the Star Trek space ship), would it work? would it work better/worse?

All of a sudden the naborhood came out , determined it wasn’t me , and they turned the offending car over in the middle of the street with the driver in the car !
