I'm watching as Trump and the GOP are stacking up the immigration laws, re-interpreting the words etched on the Statue of Liberty, criminalizing and dehumanizing the Hispanics seeking asylum here and, as a Black citizen, part of me screams "Welcome to the party, pal.! But it grieves me to see all of these people dying at the hands of these miserable white supremacists. In the past they would descend en masse upon Black communities and slaughter hundreds of us at a time. They passed laws to keep us uneducated, immobile, financially dependent and criminally targeted. Other races have, of course, felt the sting of racist hatred, but Blacks are more visible and less able to fade into the background and the ws vitriol has been laser-focused on us for centuries. That's just a fact. But now, under this administration the White Supremacists have expanded their activities to murdering Jews in their synagogues and Sikhs in their Temples, and Blacks in their Churches, and Muslims in their Mosques. They've turned their guns on innocent Hispanics now at festivals and shopping malls. They're the only ones out there screaming about their rights under the 2nd Amendment and the coming "civil war", while trying to keep people of color from having any kind of weapon. (A Black man with a gun is automatically a criminal and can be Shot on sight. These new "judges" are being put in place to "legally" deprive women and minorities and peoples of color of all of their civil rights. SMDH.
