    The last line of Gaskell's North And South gives a good indication of her sense of humour. I loved Our Mutual Friend and there's an excellent TV adaptation of the novel.

    i love elizabeth gaskell! north and south is my absolute favorite book! also love wives and daughters but unfortunately did not realize it was unfinished until i turned the last page 😂 such great books in this vid!!

    i've never seen anyone mention Villette so im really glad you read it! i had to read it for a victorian lit class and i actually really enjoyed it, it surprised me

      @@sararoza797 I also found it surprising! I wish we had gotten more of Lucy’s backstory/before heading to the school but the bleakness and haunting elements were right up my alley.

    2:40---------->hear that potential writers? The opening of a novel is crucial. It should grab your attention, draw you into the story from the very first lines (or in this case, first few paragraphs).

    well if you like slog, you should definitely check the wheel of time series as it is holistically famous on internet as being a slog but still one of the classics in the genre.
