Another great vid, good production, no shitty music, no nonsense, straight to the point. I, for one, also rub a little bit of fresh oil on the o-ring of such oil filter housings.
Nice video. 👍 Couple tips I would offer.. I usually crack the seal on the filter housing first and loosen it just slightly. I'll let this sit for 5-10 mins and almost never see any drips anymore when pulling the filter and housing out. Then I drain the oil... With my mityvac 🛢️😉. So nice to not have to lift the car for this anymore. Also I would mention to slip a phone down to the turbo Inlet when you have the intake off and snap a photo of the compressor wheel. Checking the blades every 3-5k miles with an oil change will help detect if you have any overspin damage from boost leaks.
Art2Gecko we have a mityvac as well but since most people don’t, we wanted to show people how to do it the traditional way. Thanks for the tips though and thanks for watching the video!
After oil change and after resetting the oil change reminder (gas pedal three times to the floor) Should I mark the oil change with a program, e.g. alphaobd via ELM bluetooth or other?. If not, please tell me when to use this "flagging oil change"- option via ELM? abarth 500 multiair
@@NGENCustomsandPerformance thanks for your answer, for my next oil change will go with Pennzoil. So far I've tried Castrol, of course Selenia multiair and Motul and still everything good with mair module.
Any info on torque specs? Just bought my Abarth this last weekend. I saw online the filter should be torqued, but I have a hard time trusting that. Seems like it’d break. What about the oil plug?
@@NGENCustomsandPerformance The engine in your car looks exactly like the one in mine. What model year is your car? My engine code is A3.000 Does your car have a MultiAir engine?
1.4 Multiair. In the North American market, it calls 5w40. If your application in your owners manual calls for something different where you are at, then follow what your owners manual says.
The amount (if any) that’s left in the oil filter housing is so minimal it’s not going to affect anything. But sure... to maximize every ounce of oil to drain out of the pan then you would release pressure from the oil cap first.
Bill Wilson it’s not necessary but you definitely can. I have done countless oil changes and have never had a leak at that o-ring. If you change it every oil change, you will be fine.
Pro tip long extension you can put it through small slot near the headlight so you dont have to use a swivel, also lube the gasket prevent seizing

Thanks man!
NGEN Customs and Performance My pleasure. I’m the one who bought the used DV+/blow off plate/OEM diverter valve combo earlier today, ha!
It’s nice to not hear music, was a little surprised there was no recommended torque wrench spec numbers for filter
@@sandro14esandro14e because it's printed on the filter. 25nm.

Great video! I really like how they are professional, very informative, concise and to the point. You do great work! :)
Thank you!
I thought you would have cleaned the filter housing. Good video.
So informative thank you 🙏🏾. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video!! Could you do a video of how to change the manual transmission oil please.
I will eventually do a video on that
Please make a video how to change 500 Abarth auto transmission fluid for 2015 +
YES, THIS!!!!!!!!!!
Step 1: sell car
Step 2: buy manual Abarth..
Excellent video.

I installed a Fumoto drain valve on mine. I connect a silicon hose to it and it drains directly into the oil pan avoiding the lower brace.
pizzamann95 always good to make things easier!
What is the thread size I see on Amazon 14mm 1.5?
Great video. I’m a big old guy and struggle to get under cars these days. Would you recommend a vacuum extractor to suck out old oil?
Extractors work great! I have used them on 500 Abarths and 124 spiders
Hi, so you do recommend this Pennzoil for Multiar engine ? Thanks
Yes we do!
@@NGENCustomsandPerformance thanks for your answer, for my next oil change will go with Pennzoil. So far I've tried Castrol, of course Selenia multiair and Motul and still everything good with mair module.
Dope!! Super helpful. Thank you
Great video! Quick question regarding the oil drain plug, can you reuse it! If so, was there a gasket that needed to be replaced?
Yes you can reuse the drain plug. I haven’t found a need to replace the gasket as of yet.
Any information on the lift? Nice video by the way.
It’s a QuickJack. We have a video on how to rack your Abarth - 2nd video that we did. Thanks for watching!

I believe it is 27nm but I never torque them. I tighten the until the oil filter cap is tight. Same with the drain plug - make sure it is tight
Great vid! Don't you use vaccum device to get oil from top?
Sure. That is definitely another option that works well.
What vacuum device are your referring to?
Any chance we can get a video of the torque solution bumper tie down kit?
I will add it to the list
NGEN Customs and Performance awesome thanks! The shirt just arrived as well, I’ll now be a walking billboard for your shop lol
Brian, are those intakes good for the weathers conditions here in Texas?
Yes they work great!
Can someone tell me what air intake is from? I bought my car with one and I don’t know where it’s from?
I wonder what the official fiat steps are for the oil filter is
Take the engine apart
Where do you buy valve cover gasket
From our website
opinion on using a thicker oil for heavy hot track days? changing the oil from 10w-40 scares me because of the Multi-air system.
I do not recommend using any other viscosity then what the factory recommends which is 5w40
the assetto corsa cars use 10w-50 but don’t use multiair (i don’t think)
Right - different application. I would stick with the 5w40
NGEN Customs and Performance Motul Makes a 5W-40 300V racing oil. Just hesitant due to the multi-air system.
Well done, but the best motore oil Is Bardhal 🔝
I have a 2015 Abarth 595 140hp and the handbook says the correct oil grade is 10w50 ?
Not sure on the T-Jet engines as we do not have those in the states

so you are just going let the old dirty oil go back in the sum? as tech I would depressurise the filter first and then drain the oil!

You should have oiled the new oring to do this correctly.
Bill Wilson it’s not necessary but you definitely can. I have done countless oil changes and have never had a leak at that o-ring. If you change it every oil change, you will be fine.
Brian, take your watch off while you work on the car
Lol ya I normally don’t wear a watch when I work on a car but it’s just an oil change
