Oh yeah, definitely. I'm right there with you, Fred. If there's one concerning issue coming to a boil with Tom Bukovac and these videos, it's his ego getting out of control and spilling out all over the place. Keen observation, if I do say so myself. Dr. Freud himself couldn't have summed it up so deftly, yet with such class and deference. It's a good thing we have such modest, insightful souls like yourself around. People who have the capacity and humility to intervene with such sound, timely and unassuming advice to keep everyone in check when their sense of self starts getting away from them. 😒👌

Hey, Uncle Larry, I think it makes us all feel good when you say you appreciate the comments about how your music moves us. I was wondering how much constant praise one man could take and how much I, a single Homeskooler, could repeat the same kind of sentiments before it sounded like noise. The truth is, you separate the men from the boys in every class. It's weird to be out here, feeling like every class from the kitchen or studio or Gruhn Guitars gives the sensation of hanging out with your mates. You've got a good thing going and you've kept it pure. We can only hope you keep feeling this weird interweb sense of community we do at this end.

I've been listening to Tele pickers for 50 years. Ol' Uncle Larry sounds like Danny Gatton learned how to relax a bit, not show off so much and get into a soul/slow groove. This is how I've been aspiring to play for most of my life. I can only describe it as molasses, whiskey and a 20 mg oxycontin. This is the real thing not to be found anywhere on TH-cam other than ol' Uncle Larry's kitchen. Brian Brock

17:49 I don't know if any human has perfect enough time to land exactly, precisely on a digital grid, and for an entire song. I think the best a person could hope for is to have steady enough time that listeners don't notice any speed-ups or slow-downs, and that the song grooves.

Tom, just watched your Gruhns Guitars episode 7 and enjoyed that immensely, I don't get the time to watch all of your videos but, that one was watching "the big boys" for me. I'm 60 and watching George speak and Vince who I've followed since Pure Prairie League and Let Me Love You Tonight in 1980. I've played out live since 1979 and that's the paying gigs...To hear these stories reminds me of several music store employees and owners and come on, is there a better Tele player than Vince?
I sooo enjoyed this episode and the faces of George, You, and Vince! Another thing about that Marshall you got for free, I have an old, broke in JTM 30 whose tubes get hot enough to fry eggs on and The clean sound is like a 57 Champ and is as glassy as any Fender I've tried and the dirty sound is almost as good as a 68 Plexi!
At my age, I've come to learn tone since EVH is my hero and Tom I saw them in 1979,80,& 81
While my drummer and other guitar player was with me and we were right up front and it was festival seating and people building human pyramids!
Getting back to Gruhns, Episode 7 ...Great Video!
I've talked to you before a few years back with the same logo, yours is spaceecho501 and we had one on the mains
and the sound man would hit it on lead breaks it was awesome I have recordings of it!
Uncle Larry, my EVH logo has been on there since 2015
Do you know why, it's because he played his way to the top on the road bro, I was on the road when I was 18 a thousand miles away and pre TH-cam and Internet, it was just the music, you had to be good or your ass was fired that night and it raised the bar high!
I would love to know Vince Gill bro, I can only imagine how much you learned from him just playing with him!
I will close this now bro, the reason I like listening to your music videos is the "feel factor" just like Eddie!

I was excited to see a fresh video this morning so I hit play and closed my eyes to listen. The opening melody line sounded so vocal that right away I had to look to make sure it was just guitar! So cool and highly inspriing. Big thank you!

Sounded great Tom. Your videos are truly an inspiring. They give me great ideas to sprinkle into my own guitar playing.

Good afternoon, Tom! Love all the videos. To me, it's like checking in with a buddy and hearing about what they're up too. The education with pausing and breathing between notes has really helped. The tees and albums have been great! Thanks for your help and advice.

The treble bleed comment was in the video where you were comparing the SG special and the LP special with that other guy.

I had one of those ODR-1s Tom!!! They wired the gain and spectrum pots backwards. I sold it because of that low gain thing...and of course I'm KICKING MYSELF! I do have a 1st gen reissue that someone gave me.

Boogie Woogie!! Great Stuff.... We've sort of forgotten the "BOOGIE"... That's the stuff that brought us here!
