One of the great Derby winners and subsequently one of the most significant horses of the all times
Loved this horse. The way he would just keep accelerating when the rest of the field were tiring. Beautiful stride, beautiful horse. Remember being stunned when he was put to stud after, was it just one loss? Rest in Paradise, Galileo lad. 💜
@MercurialRed9, he lost the final two races of his career. He was beaten a head by Godolphin's Fantastic Light in the G1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown in his 7th career start and then in his 8th and final career start he finished 6th of 13 at Belmont Park on the dirt in Tiznow's second BC Classic win in 2001, finishing with a career record of 8-6-1-0.
So much speed and class, knew his job & loved it. I think he was the perfect racehorse,, not only in his impressive body, but his mind, he was easy to settle and maneuver and then aggressive, hard as nails, when he needed to be. I love how he eye balls the other colts when going up in his gears and pass them, he always dwelt a little upsides and drifted across to them, eye balled for a stride or two, then just found another gear, I think he intimidated a lot of his competitors.
His love heart head was so easy to spot x.
What a Legacy to leave behind.

The way this fella moves he's just the perfect racehorse. Loved his dad and Gallileo will always be my idea of the best. Who could have known what was coming next. Amazing horse
