If for some reason one didn’t want to cut the tab off. You could make a spacer and use longer screws to get the distance to open lid. I am looking to make a solid divider, going to use Kydex and form a lip to screw into either side.
@@CrazyCranker Yea, but his idea cost them an accessory sale. It is all about the extras, no matter what they tell you. Every company makes a shit ton of money from accessories. They told me that was not what their intentions were. Then why not make the holes line up when you put the rod holder on a 45-degree angle, because they knew they were making an accessory for it, the same reason they did not include a divider system. It is nothing but a glorified milk crate, I regret purchasing mine.
@@Letsdive64 There will be plenty of sheep out there that buy the Yak Attack divider version for sure. I do agree with the 2nd part of your statement, it's certainly a "Glorified milk crate"
For the price they charge, I am very disappointed with it. There are a few things they could have done better. One, make the rod holders so they line up with the holes at a 45-degree angle, they don't, but hey they now sell an accessory that will do that. Who did not see that coming? Two, the only way I can put longer rods in it, is on the sides, because of the reason you stated, it makes it hard to open the top. They should make another accessory that has a slide on it, this way you can move the rod holder up or down. Three, for that type of money, why is there no divider system? You either have to modify the box or wait until they come out with their bungee system specifically designed to work with that box. Just another cost added onto an overpriced box. I wish I never purchased it, I could have made my own cheaper, including the extras. But, hey at least they include rod holders, in that price. Solid box, looks pretty but way overpriced for what you get.
@@MOBBINOutdoors You are right, my last one was do it yourself, but I figured with my new Kayak I would get a new create. I refuse to pay them anymore money and decided to do the same mod as you did with the bungees, it worked out great. Thanks for posting it.
They made all those nice holes so we wouldn't have to drill holes but, non of the old Gear Trac holes line up with it. Why? Total fail. I wouldn't of bought it had I know that.

I did think about using spaces. I used them in the past with my other crates. This was much simpler and didn’t have to buy extended screws
Very clever bro. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for doing the update.
You bet
some decent tips. cheers!
Thanks! Been seeing your name always poppin up the SoCal scene! Keep doing your thing! Love seeing CA anglers shine!

That’s pretty cool! Idea isn’t new. I would like to think my idea cost pennies 😁
@@MOBBINOutdoors Your idea is better. It provides better support. Well done!

Icast just announced they make these now. And they are adjustable
Cool, I’d figure they come out with accessories for the crate.
Shout out master
Donde podría comprar el cajón en España?
Funny. Chad Hoover just posted a video about some of these things. 😅👌🏽
No shit! I gotta check it out
Yakatack makes bungee dividers that solve this issue

Choose your poison LOL! Nothing wrong with DIY crates!
