Nice review. I went with the 13x13 in a limited edition teal color (actually the fam bought it for Xmas '23). I'm more of a minimalist, and tend to carry less on the yak and more on my boat.
I'm thinking of getting a 13x13 or 13x16 for fly fishing, but I'm trying to figure out how to attach an Omega rod holder so that rods are oriented horizontally facing backwards off the yak. Any suggestions for this? It looks like the lid takes up the entire top so they'd have to be attached to the sides. Thanks!
you could get a 90 degree adapter for the sides, or just add a short piece of track and use the track mounted omega on the sides. if you go to the Yakattack website you will see one mounted to the side of an Orion cooler. it had a baitcaster in it, but you will see what i am talking about. i think i would hit my other rod more with it horizontal than vertically if it was off the back of the kayak. have you seen how i carry my long rods in the Yakgadget flexrod stager? that works well down the side of the kayak and keeps em out of trouble!
Why make all those holes if none of the current Gear tracs on the market line up with them? I don't get it YAk Attack-Huge fail! I definitely had a Grrr...moment when I noticed this-lol Surprised nobody on You Tube has mentioned this.
