Very interesting to see how the EZ ponds are manufactured. I'm not aware of anything even close to those in Canada most likely for two main reasons, first the koi hobby is minute compared to the UK and second the extreme cold temperatures in winter. Despite their design and strength they would be under major stress when the temperatures dip to -20C to -40C as the entire volume of water would freeze solid. The pond would have to be emptied and the koi moved indoors for them to survive.

Turns out, they do have a tank in Canada! its just extremely well insulated (& heated) according to Allan

They are expensive, but I think when you look at vs any other normal fibreglass pond they come out quite reasonable, unless its a DIY/Liner job.

9:57 What about the further spread of these specifications over there? As you are aware, Japan the prevalence of this type of pond is virtually non-existent among hobbyists. Maybe if we ever introduce it among us, we will cover it with something or other to hide it during the summer feeding period, or we will leave it to grow moss and not clean it until the feeding period is over.

Your question confuses me, what do you mean about the specification?

@@TheKoiPerspective I fear that the priority of always keeping the windows clean will continue to neglect the cultivation and maturation of our most important dietary and feeding behaviours.

@@atsuminaoki9910 I see, I don’t think that a once a month clean of the window should prevent such a neglect, when I clean the window my Koi tend to eat a lot of the algae that is broken from the pond walls.

@@TheKoiPerspective Additionally, if I may say so, if there's a window, II have never seen them swim completely unguarded. Am I imagining things? The metaphor is that of the recent A&C Koi's. It looks like a Japanese hobbyist's pond. If all of you were like that, I wouldn't complain at all.

Personally I don’t think windows alter the behaviour of the koi. But I can see your point about cleaning disturbing them.
