Cannot thank you enough for your videos and especially your expertise in appliances!!!! One can hear that you have great knowledge and experience in appliances. I’m looking for a really good non-tech washer like the good ole kind. Home Depot (although not my favorite store) has this on sale for around $530. Benevolent blessings 🍀
I purchased a GE top load washer very similar to this model for 5+ years ago. No problems whatsoever. The water levels are controlled by me and the agitator works the clothes similar to the old school models. I use the speed wash cycle for most of my clothes and it's done in just 30 minutes.
Just watched another video of this washer in action. Very noisy..sounds like two ducks in heat. Outer tub turns during agitation..so don’t think agitator works like an old washer. It’s a slow sloshing, and fabrics don’t get pulled under water very well.. they sort of float. I’m hanging on to my 24 year old Kenmore as long as I can.
I have had this washer since 5/2021 So far so good. Is there a filter that can be cleaned/replaced? If so, where is it? Nothing in the owners' manual mentions this. TIA
We have had ours for a while now and has never done the final rise after the load is done. I also have to go out and move the dial to the drain/rinse option for the spin cycle to activate…..now it doesn’t even do that anymore. The machine isn’t that old. Any ideas on what can be done? Nothing in the Manual is helping.
I just bought this washer and got the 5 year warranty. My question is, since GE has the 1 year warranty, does the 5 year warranty kick in after the 1 year warranty?
I have this exact model GE … it’s ok … does the job . Sometimes no matter how cautious I am in loading it , it falls out of balance . I definitely won’t purchase another GE washer after this goes … I’ll bite the price bullet and go with a Speed Queen …entirely USA built !
Be careful buying speed queen washer, I bought one last week ( never heard of this brand)tr5 because of good reviews. 2 hrs after the installation I tried to wash clothes, it run only for 10 SECONDS then died . Tech came the next day found pressure sensor/ board & harness broken & needed to be replaced. This is a brand new machine , what happened Speed Queen, I’m baffled. Anyway returning it.
I bought the GTW 465 a s n o w w model I cannot even get it started I don't know what I'm doing it just hasn't worked. is there anybody out there that can walk me through it
Can you show us how to clean this machine? I see where so many people open it below somewhere and clean it good. I hear you should do that every so often. We have the matching dryer that I have to clean too. Thanks in advance!!
Honestly - I’ve had my off brand cheap-o washer for over 20 years now. Absolutely zero odor. Never used a cleaning product. Leave lid open when not in use and I never put fabric softener in the washer (causes gunky build up). To be fair- I have only used powdered laundry detergent too. I heard from someone who repairs washing machines that the liquid detergents gunk it up too. I also use only half the recommended amount of product. Good luck!!!
@@carolschedler3832 EXCESSIVE USE of powder, pods, liquid detergent, and fabric softener will eventually lead to gunk, slime, and washer stench. At worst, your washer will cease functioning due to a clogged filter & drain.
Are no good. They are super duper not good. None of them are good. Only agitator top load washers are good. Buy an agitator washer. Don't ever think about buying a impeller washer. You'll totally regret it. Absolutely, you'll absolutely regret one of those so never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever buy an impeller washer stick to agitator

No
I have been using softener for years and I have yet to have an issue.
Be aware of time fill on a GE top-loader, guys.

I agree. I hate it
I'm not a big fan of the suspension on these new GE/Hotpoint washers.
Neither am I. Granted, I do use fabric softener on all my laundry without issue.
