"pig shit" was a reference to wildfire. it was an inside joke between Tyrion and Bronn, because a couple episodes before that reference they were talking about using wildfire in the battle and Bronn had said "it may as well be pig shit" or something to that effect.
Stannis was the first one off the boats, the first one on the beach, and the first one up those ladders. If he wasn't so dry, he'd be the best character on the show lol. He shows us why everyone holds him in such high regard, even his biggest enemies, as far as his military tactics and bravery.
Davos wasn't a smuggler of onions par say. He smuggled whatever pirates would sell him from their hauls. The reason he 'smuggled' onions that one time was because he knew of the siege and had a moment of conscious, grabbed whatever food he could find (in this case, mostly onions) and sailed his little boat to supply Storm's End in secret. Normally I suspect he'd have been smuggling silks, spices, furs, the sort of things lesser lords and rich merchants would be happy to buy under the table no questions asked.
Yes. Stannis tells the story in the previous episode. When he talks of eating cats and dogs.. Then Davos came through smuggling all those onions and saving lives.
Cersei is horrible, but nothing she is saying to Sansa is untrue. And the pathos at the end, when you realize why she was so angry and drunk, because she was preparing herself to kill her child to spare him a more horrible fate. Remember the Targaryen children: they were butchered; no potential claimant can be permitted to survive.
5:20 Hey Steph! Why have you been outing me as "that one guy"? XD Lindsay scares me without actually knowing things she knows things haha like... she loves the "Rains of Castamere"
Ashley, you're reaction to this episode was amazing and heartfelt. You ebbed and flowed with every scene change, every battle tactic, every conversation. In used to battles within movies, but this was a particularly great one. --------- Ashley, you just connect with every emotion for the combatants on both sides of the fight. ------- What, I think left you in tears and speechless was see Tyrion sliced in half and eyes closed on the battlefield. Since no one is safe in the GOT universe. Great reaction as always.
I LOVE Ashley's REACTION!!! She was really feeling it , watching and listening closely, letting herself be immersed in the show!!! That was how " most of us reacted and felt " watching this a few years ago and so on the rest of the show!..... cant wait to see more of her Reactions! And Ashley!, next episode, remove the hoodie and show us your hair! U do look lovely either way,, but taking it off at the end of this video was nice!.. Stephanie , U are always great! Lindsey... i know everyone's reactions is different,, but perhaps, pay attention a little more? ... but i do love you ladies! Thank you !!
I hear that line in my head every time I see him. Every scene he's in, I hear him saying it. If I had any video editing skills, I'd make a video where he just says that as a response to anything. 😁
Fun fact. The man who played Hallyne the Pyromancer was the late Roy Dotrice who narrated the audio books. He also played Jacob "Father" Wells on the show "Beauty and the Beast," which was partially written by George RR Martin.
Great reaction ladies, you are becoming the highlight of my week. -------- I couldn't wait to see Ashley and Lindsay's reaction to the penultimate season 2 episode. ------ Now it's time for Dani to get her dragons back. This is GOT, so Careful what you wish for.
As a rule of thumb, they say that defenders have a 3:1 advantage compared toward the attackers, meaning you should have a at least 3 times as many attackers as they have defenders.
Kings landing didn’t have many defenders since the bulk of the Lannister army was with Tywin. Probably a few hundred Lannister soldiers and the City Watch were defending the city. Stannis originally had a small army but got most of Renly’s bannermen from the Stormlands (though not the Tyrels) after he killed Renly. So Stannis probably had at least 10,000 soldiers. Even after losing at least a third of his men from wildfire he still outnumbered the defenders several times over.
@@andrewward5891 The numbers in the show are confusing. Renly had 100.000 soldiers (!!!) according to him earlier in the show (which is absurd by medieval terms anyway). Tyrells left and they had somewhat 20.000 I believe so it leaves Stannis with ~80.000. I mean army that size can't really go by ships, it's impossoble with those times technologies. And Stannis actually outnumbers all of the Lannisters forces combined (especially considering Robb defeated and dispersed half of Lannisters forces when he captured Jaime). City as huge as King's Landing can't be stormed, it can be sieged, starved or breached via intrigues and etc but storming half a million population city will fail no matter what. So TLDR - just don't take anything related to medieval warfare in the show seriously. There are numerous things and details which makes it unrealistic. It's made for entertainment and a lot of things are simplified or discarded.
@Immundissime1 I would argue 100k soldiers in medieval times while rare was not impossible. I think that's a bad study of history. There are plenty of occasions where medieval armies had the hundred of thousands. Not even forgetting Romes legion sizes hundreds of years before hand.
@@wiedzmin8204 Professional historians would argue that most numbers in historic documents are quite over exaggerated (since those historic documents are very like nowadays propaganda which they mostly were in those times). I'm totally wrong in terms of other than european medieval feudal armies though since I was mostly talking for Westeros as similar to Europe feudal society. Mongol forces i.e. had those numbers for sure but they definetely don't match 'feudal army' description. Roman Empire (also not feudal) back in the days could totally have more than 100.000 but it was a huge empire over vast territories with humongous economy and advanced means to support such an army (remember as romans built roads and temporary camps everywhere - it was a very well organized and controlled structure and that was one of the reasons they succeeded in conquering most of Europe). And a very important topic is what a 100.000 army actually is and how it works in those times. Neither Mongols nor Romans could've assemble such army in one particular place. They were always divided into multiple separate 'brigades' for controllability/logistics/supplies and other reasons. Even 10-20.000 armies had a lot of problems with that and gathering 100.000 together was quite impossible task. There were no means to supply that amount of ppl in one place for any amount of days. And how do you even control that in those times?
This episode is actually directed by George and it shows. Also it's actually mind boggling that one guy wrote all this when we struggle to remember our own history lol.
At 41:34 this is the most vulnerable Joffrey has ever sounded. He is very young in the books and is still supposed to be young in the show too (younger than Robb Stark). Yes, he is all talk and is a coward, but he really is just a little boy. I love the fact Tyrion is trying so hard to get Joffrey to actually lead his troops!! Then Tyrion is the one who actually does it, an excellent hand of the King :)
In one of the earlier episodes, when Melisandre whispers something to Matthos and Stannis asks her what she said, she replies: "I told him death by fire is the purest death". I actually didn't pick up on that before I rewatched that episode with you guys 😄 She must've seen Matthos' death in the flames.
Brons music career included seven weeks at number one in the charts for their cover of Unchained Melody. They were called Robson and Jerome (Robson being a Co star of his in the popular drama soldier soldier)

3:20 That's the latin influence right there. In Spanish we say Penúltimo, and it's a very common word. Not weird at all.😁 And there's also antepenúltimo (two before the last) y trasantepenúltimo (three before the last).
Cersi didn’t poison Robert. She had Lancel give him stronger wine than what he was used to so he missed the boar with his spear and was mortally wounded by the boar.
The word "penultimate" comes from Latin, and translates literally to "almost last". I learned the word while learning which syllables get stressed when speaking in Latin... The last syllable is the ultimate, the second to last the penultimate, and the third to last the antepenultimate.

Hey Ladies, I'm used to battles within movies, but this was a particularly great one. Watching the dancing and enjoying the Rains of Castamere was surreal. The pig shit is an ingredient in the wildfire. They filled that entire ship hold with it and blew up a huge section of Stannis' Army. LoL.
Jerome Flynn (Bronn) was in a duo called Robson and Jerome. The had a mildly successful single in the early 90s. It was a cover of the 1964 song "up on the roof" by the drifters.
Tyrion cutting off that leg felt like a nice little homage paid to the first book hahaha. In AGOT, Tyrion fights more than we see in the show. When Cat's taken him and the group gets attacked, he actually fights a lot and does really well, utilising his short stature to sweep by enemies. And he fights with an ax, not with a shield. I saw the show before I started reading the books, so I found that difference very interesting!
Someone please explain to them that he was talking about wild fire when he said Pig Shit. As it was PREVIOUSLY referred to as such by Bronn when Tyrion met with the Pyromancer.. And Bronn says something to the effect.. "If I could tell you how many times Ive seen crazy old men making grand claims of jars of pig shit..." Then later they ask him what they do have.. And Tyrion says pig shit.. its clearly in reference to what Bronn's colorful description of the whats in potential jars. Please for the love of god let the poop go. Lol. The only poop in this episode was in Joffreys pants.
I think she really should have explained that to them. It was made clear on the show and would keep them from going on these wild tangents about things that have already been explained in the show.
I wouldn't call Robson & Jerome an actual band. They were in a TV show, and in the TV show, they sang a song, so the recording of that song was released as a single. There was a follow-up, maybe even an album, but it wasn't really a band. Just 2 guys singing cover songs to a backing track, and it was more a spinoff of the TV show than an actual organic act. But they did get a couple number #1 singles before they disappeared. Then again...one of them was Unchained Melody. Everyone and their dog has had a number #1 single with that song.
Lindsay, episode 2x08 ended as follows. Following Osha to the crypts beneath Winterfell, Maester Luwin discovers Bran and Rickon are alive. Luwin deduces Theon's men murdered a farming family and burned their sons in the Stark boys' stead, which Bran overhears.
Ah the cursed 09, always a pleasure. 13:45 I love this song. There's always fun ahead when you hear it. 45:27 I was kinda shocked at that part when I read it.
41:20 No, you can’t just “push” a ladder away from a wall during a siege. I saw some Mythbusters recreation of this: basically there is too much weight from the men climbing up the ladder for someone at the top of a wall to be able to push it away. There is too much weight, they aren’t strong enough, and there just isn’t enough leverage to push effectively. This is why most castle walls had a slope leading to them-the angle of the slope keeps ladders from being able to be set as effectively as if they were placed on flat ground.
Tbh no one took Bronn and the Lannister soldiers singing Rain of Castamere seriously. But you girls will soon find out that you should never mess with Lannisters
They are not his previous bannermen, just his previous allies. His bannermen went back to the Reach after Renly's death. Only Renly's own bannermen joined Stannis.
Ashley is a great reactor, she tries to pay attention and take in the show, and as a result her emotions always seem genuine even when she doesn't understand them. Lindsay overdoes it too much i think, and like, acts it out the reaction, which in turn leads her to miss basic stuff
Nice reaction ladies! Today I learned the Blackwater drink is made with pig 💩, and it is best served with Grey Poupon (💩 on?) - the Dijon mustard brand. Speaking of pig 💩, will Ashley and Lindsay ever find out what the pig 💩 is referring to? *FUN FACTS:* "Penultimate" comes from Latin. "Pen" is the Latin prefix meaning almost. "Ultimate" in Latin means the last, the final, the end, or farthest. Then there is "antepenultimate", which means “the third from the last.”
Tyrion was scared, but how can a man be Brave if he's scared? That's the only time a man can be brave. also the Pigshit was referring to when Bron told Tyrion "during battle there were always some old men selling some magic cure or some pigshit that could help them", talking about the Pyromancers who's pigshit was Wildfire, so you did see the pigshit, alot of it.
Not Lindsay about to say "I always have to expect the unexpected with this show" when shes the ones coming up with theories OPPOSITE of the presented information 😂
Bron is the one who was calling the wildfire “pig shit” when he was trying to discredit it when the pyromancer was talking about it when they first discovered it. He said something along the lines of “if I had a coin for every time I saw a man selling pig shit claiming it’s some magical…” blah blah or something like that lol but yeah that’s where it comes from..so you weren’t exactly wrong 😂 they did use it.
6:50 we ended the last episode in the crypts of Winterfell with Bran, Rickon, Osha and the Wolves. 13:30 PLEASE tell Lindsay that Robert died of being too drunk to hit the boar he was hunting and it had NOTHING to do with poison! I'm DYING over here!
Origin of penultimate: From the latin Paene, meaning almost, and ultimus, meaning last, became paenultimus, which then became penultimate in roughly the 17th century AD. Just adding to the useless knowledge in your brains.
i’ve always wondered who that guy who came into the tavern with the hound was. what kind of cold blooded killer must he have been that the hound would willingly hang out with him?
This is where the changes in the show start to get more aggressive. Tryion acutally lost his nose in the fight, instead of just a slash scar across his face. Davos had seven children and lost his four oldest sons in the battle of the blackwater
She actually did. Lancel hints at it in season 5 ("the poisoned wine"), and she takes credit for his death in season 6 ("I killed my husband"). So it's a pretty good theory they've got there...
I guess it's a bit of a dilemma deciding what details to clarify in the middle of the story and which not to because it would be spoiling or over-explaining. But I'm surprised Stefani didn't just go ahead and say that "pig shit" = the green "wildfire" stuff. It's not a big deal either way, but it drove me a little bonkers hearing them continually ask,. "What about the pig shit?" But honestly, this is turning out to be a top tier GOT reaction channel!
I can't wait for you guys to get to a certain epic battle in season 6😊 definitely going to need to have a therpist on the couch for that one😅 Great reaction as always!❤❤❤
Battle of the Bastards is a technical masterpiece but doesn't hold a candle to Blackwater or Watchers on The Wall in terms of narrative strength, in my opinion. That solidified for me over the years as I rewatched multiple times. BotB is insanely hype on the first watch but it's logistics and story beats are very questionable...
@@Bishey Thank you, that was always my opinion and I've had intense debates with friends about it over the years ahah Cinematically it is indeed very well done. Maybe the best on the show. But the tactics, plot armour and the narrative leading to its culmination are very dubious to say the least. But hey, I'm one of those that thinks the show dropped its level considerably since S5. S5/6 were still enjoyable and well done, but not at the same level as S1-S4. S7/S8 (books were gone by then) are horrible despite of the fact that visually they're both a 10/10. But what fascinated me the most about GoT was its logical unpredictability, the dialogue and the political intrigue within the that world.

Was looking forward to this episode and yall didn't disappoint!
before the battle the men were singing The Rains of Castemere adn called it the Lannister song don't forget that
I wouldn't call Robson & Jerome an actual band.
33:23 39:03 The One True King of Westeros, STANNIS BARATHEON 👑 .
So interesting!
Tbh no one took Bronn and the Lannister soldiers singing Rain of Castamere seriously. But you girls will soon find out that you should never mess with Lannisters
😏
And to think ser Lorice (knight of the flowers) was attacking his previous bannermen here at the end? Yet he did it unsparingly. Such a great show.
That's some pretty potent "Pig s____", huh? Understand the goosebumps and the "penultimate" case of hyperhydrosis "sweaty palms" before the battle.
think of the bells as air sirens
49:49 is the sexiest "Tywin" I have heard!
Sunday morning ritual hope you are having a good weekend ladies 🙌 insta and youtube fam💚💚💚
Good morning!
We need to get you girls a super bright tv! So many dark eps ahead
Easily one of the highpoints of the entire series. Just a fantastic episode.
In S2E2 Melisandre tells Davos' son that death by fire is the noblest death.
Hmm christmas tree in the background. When was this recorded?
Honest, This was a great reaction to watch❤ ty
I gave it a like right aways just for your cat ❤ 😂
Odin says Meow!
Grey haired lady knows this is a drama, yes? What's with all the wisecracks and laughing all the time?
Just her personality.
Why? You do realise that Cersei actually did poison Robert's wine? Lancel confirms it in season 5 and Cersei takes credit for killing him in season 6.
I never thought of that before!
Yeah they never show him again so maybe he died in the battle
This is where the changes in the show start to get more aggressive. Tryion acutally lost his nose in the fight, instead of just a slash scar across his face. Davos had seven children and lost his four oldest sons in the battle of the blackwater
In the next episode Cersei actually mentions the tidbit about the nose
It would have taken a lot of makeup and/or CGI to show Tyrion without a nose. Dinklage refused to let them cut off his nose for real.
SHE DID NOT POISON ROBERT!!!!
🤣
Maybe she could have "sterioded" all the boars of the forest though :P
😂 sorry for the caps. LOL
True, she just made sure he was in no condition to go head to head with a boar and crossed her fingers. Robert's "wrath" was a real and deadly thing.
She actually did. Lancel hints at it in season 5 ("the poisoned wine"), and she takes credit for his death in season 6 ("I killed my husband"). So it's a pretty good theory they've got there...
Last ep ending hint "Valar moghulis"
Great reaction... this show is really getting the emotions out of you...
I'm loving these reactions I look forward to it every week you ladies are awesome 😊
Yay! Thank you!
Ah.. an Episode 9 reaction... it is always an adventure - no matter what season
Ladies, they made the wildfire from the pig shit. That WAS it!
Note to Stefani: se3ep4 Joffrey and Margery in the sept… can be spoilery for HotD? Then again who really knows only what the maesters wrote
Ya we’ve already watched it, I doubt they will remember 😅
@@MugShotzReacts jeepers so far ahead?? Is there much point of commenting on yt?
some of the best lines in the series come from the Hound.
They didn’t include the Hounds Best line in the episode where he threatens to violate the corpses of his men if they die without killing someone
@@andrewward5891 the man is a real poet, isn't he? 😄
@@boqndimitrov8693- and the Hound is an even better motivational speaker
TH-cam has issues with lines like that 🫠
I guess it's a bit of a dilemma deciding what details to clarify in the middle of the story and which not to because it would be spoiling or over-explaining. But I'm surprised Stefani didn't just go ahead and say that "pig shit" = the green "wildfire" stuff. It's not a big deal either way, but it drove me a little bonkers hearing them continually ask,. "What about the pig shit?"
But honestly, this is turning out to be a top tier GOT reaction channel!
I let them run with it, it was hilarious to me how confident they were 🤣
Cersai is by far the best actress on the show
So good!!!
The wildfire is made out of pig poop is how i always took it
No.
I can't wait for you guys to get to a certain epic battle in season 6😊 definitely going to need to have a therpist on the couch for that one😅 Great reaction as always!❤❤❤
Can't wait!
i am sure they will already have their personal therapists by the end of season 3....
Nunca nos olvidemos del 6x05 por fa please
But what fascinated me the most about GoT was its logical unpredictability, the dialogue and the political intrigue within the that world.
lovely reaction🌀
40:04 best moment of this episode🌀
I’m just realizing that Ashley and Lindsay (Lindsey?) have the same. Exact. Eyebrows. Opposites attract, my ass!
Stannis baratheon, the rightful king of the seven kingdoms
Wildfire is made from pig poop. You know, nitrogen is an explosive.
