I think it's the comforting vibes of a bygone era.
Despite being a current production, The Cinema Snob feels like oldschool TV. I could easily imagine this show existing in the '80s as a local cable access show.

Surprised Eye of the Tiger doesn’t have more fans on the poll. Gary Busey, vigilante, monster truck with missiles, Nam flashbacks. It checks all the boxes for cheesy 80s action.
I’d just like to point out that it’s Brad’s fault that I own a mint condition copy of Windy City on laserdisc.
Man, Susan Sarandon looks positively RADIANT in every clip of this otherwise justifiably forgotten piece of crap. (And yes, David Rasche definitely should've been the lead because he's always been insanely underrated.)

The last time you used the Patton Oswald “I hate! I hate!” clip was way back in your Hell’s Bloody Devils review. You know, the Nazi biker movie with Colonel Sanders.
I knew I remembered hearing that clip in an earlier Snob video.
reminds me of Phelous' Beauty and the Beast G2 reviews, where the two had a lot of friction and conflict, but no chemistry or moments where it seemed like they like each other.

What is the appeal or draw of watching a love interest that whines all the damn time. Even if they have a great relationship that we’re not seeing off-screen, having to deal with the frequent complaints would drive me up the wall.
It's the whole dumb trope of "Opposites attract", which naive fangirls often see as romantic because it hits the emotional beat of "Aww, they really do love each other" moment. Despite in real life such signs being obvious that is a relationship that is going to end in divorce.

These melodramas have a real talent for making the male protagonists the most insufferable, unlikable shitbags in human history and expecting the audience to find them charming somehow.
I only know Square Dance because I saw the Siskel and Ebert review before and you brought it up when talking about Music in the worst of 2021 with Doug.
I only know Square Dance from 1980 in Film, when Snob mentioned that Daniel Petrie (director of Resurrection) directed it and show a couple of clips from it. And it looks very cringeworthy.

(Kris Bluth) Moral: Only Woody Allen can do Woody Allen. Soup for One may have been clearly influenced by him, but it still managed to feel like its own thing. Something Short of Paradise, on the other hand, is more like those Italian knockoffs made in the wake of Star Wars that had no clue what made the original so special.

David Steinberg certainly was a third tier Woody, but Susan Sarandon is so gorgeous and charismatic, much more than a 2nd tier Keaton and in “The Buddy System” more than a 2nd tier Marsha Mason, a movie in which Richard Dreyfus was cast as 3rd tier Richard Dreyfus-new fifth choice on Patreon polls?
