this cemented their Legacy forever🤣 we got ole boy looking like the older brother of the girl your dating in HS and he's there drunk at a party thats all freshman and Sophomores but he is 2 years into community College and won't stop making people listen to him freestyle over every song that gets played 🤣
In all seriousness tho, when this song first came out I really thought because of the pitch being lowered on his voice that it was a sample of more than likely a gucci mane song and I just believed that idea for awhile till I saw it live 🤣
While I understand why this was ragged on a decade and a half ago, imma just say EVERY rap concert post 2016 would sound exactly like this if backtracks weren’t so commonly used. Yall don’t need me to comment on how ahead of its time this is fr tho
This is what I never understood about modern rap concerts... granted by 2016 I was only 16 years old so I was only really able to attend them after a year or two, but the artists pretty much never actually "rapped." Whats the point? See some dipshit jump around on stage while a backtrack from the "DJs" iPhone plays from the mixer? LMAO
@@alucardhellsing666 That isn't true, I've seen them three times in the midwest and I was at this show at SXSW. They took a long hiatus and then released an album in 2020. I haven't seen them since the SXSW show and I haven't heard anything about them doing shows now. My comment was more meant as in they did an awful set, they didn't seem to care so they weren't asked back.
@WilshirecityBlues I agree some of the artists on ur list are pretty keen. However, that doesn't mean Salem is shit. You should check your favourite artists / the current music scene ,how Salem was influencing the whole atmosphere especially Witch House.
@WilshirecityBlues Salem was groundbreaking too. Generation is the only thing that's different. I believe people are hating on pioneering things because the time isn't there yet until you really start to understand and dig down on something you don't like at this moment.
@WilshirecityBlues Interesting, Aphex Twin is my favorite musician and I still like Salem a lot. Aphex is undoubtedly more sonically talented but they do have irreverence and a tendency to troll in common, and the drum programming on songs like Frost is actually pretty good
@angelortiz69 Rebirth was Lil Wayne's attempt at rock. It was overhyped and weak. SALEM has Jack Donoghue doing his best impression of a southern black rapper, droppin' "nigga" in his rhymes in a way that's almost funny. SALEM's visual sense is kind of cool, and it started something... but overall it's overhyped and weak.
This version of Trapdoor is great I actually really like that synth
I like it way more. Also I like that jacks vocals are normal pitch
this is the best live performance ive ever seen
goodbye
@@madmuffinz to you

No playback, thats a lot for a rapper
A lot of people were laughing at this at the time, but it sounds prophetic as fuck in 2020
they were ahead of their time fr
@WilshirecityBlues crack
@@CE_LESTIA LOL u got him rekt yo
It's crazy to see how influential this genre became, but I knew plenty of hipsters and music nerds who genuinely liked this music back in the day lol

So much life to such a despaired group. SXSW won’t bring them back due to their uncontrollable live shows.
what do you mean? they never do live shows lol
