    How incredible (and cute)! We see so many birds without any idea of where they've traveled or what they've experienced, this is an incredible moment.

      Yes! A little bird that weighs as much as two nickels migrating thousands of miles to this exact spot! And then again and again!

    cool . just wondering how you caught it ? Do you trap them each year to monitor them ?

      Yes, Kim sets up mist nets during spring and fall migration in the same locations every year. The data set goes back to the late 1960s.

      @@BushKayakersCampingAustralia Thanks! The process is pretty quick and aimed at minimizing stress on the bird. Kim releases them as quickly as possible.
