Friends - Joe Hisaishi

Day 240 of my daily video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--posting a video of piano music every single day!
Today's video is another one from Joe Hisaishi called "Friends". This version was included in his piano album "Encore".
Before I return to my Jazz side project, I wanted to include this piece by Joe Hisaishi. The Encore album is really lovely--it has a lot of his music from anime projects in addition to solo piano works. The piece was apparently used in a Toyota commercial--you never know as a composer where your music will end up!!
This is a beautiful arrangement -- as always, it is a joy to play Joe Hisaishi's music. It is orchestral in texture--lots of right hand melody, arpeggiated chords, octaves, left hand arpeggios and broken chords.
