@@jmbelarmin yeah, because Caitlin Clark was an alumni of a Catholic school in high school. I read about Clark...one important thing that she never forgotten to lead the prayer in the morning and at night. Also, Caitlin is a very humble player
Agree with coach, WV may be the best defensive team they face all year. Their pressure was constant, made everything difficult. They implemented their plan perfectly but Iowa adjusted and shut them down.
Absolutely not an 8 seed. Look at USC drawing a 20-12 Kansas team as their 8 seed while we’re supposed to be the higher 2 seed getting 25-8 WVU. Credit to WVU for forcing us to play their game but I’m really encouraged by how well defensively we played denying any passes in the paint. There was one point late in the 4th quarter where WVU got an easy 2 and I thought to myself, that was their only easy 2 all night.
Yes Iowa and their fans should be happy they can win this type of game under constant pressure which is not what they're used to. This helps prep them for a deep national championship run. They are a better team because of it. @@conormccaffery5821

I'm a born Jayhawk and I love Caitlin, she's so fun to watch and the whole team feeds off of her energy and passion. She has a bright future in the WNBA and I'll continue to be a fan. Go Hawkeyes in the rest of the tournament!!!!
Lisa Bluder deserves way more credit than she gets. Being the head coach of a superstar brings significant other challenges with it, and she is/has navigated that incredibly well.
Aggressive in your face defenses generate more fouls by nature. I thought Iowa, although advancing, really miss Molly Davis and her ability to penetrate and dish to the 3 point shooters. I also would have liked to see some high ball screens and rolls along with back door cuts. Want to play up close, beat 'em on backdoors.
Iowa missed davis badly amd it explains the close game but affolter played great. After the block by Marshall she drove all the way down the court for an "and one" late in the game for the only Iowa field goal in the 4th quarter.
Soooo impressed with how polished and confident and articulate Caitlin is in these postgame pressers. She says all of the right things and doesn't hesitate or search for answers at all. Obviously she's had some practice at it over the years but kudos to her and whatever PR team is now around her that has maybe helped influence her positive & diplomatic responses.
I was glad to see us turn it around at halftime. The big difference is that we started being strong with the ball...on rebounds, on pivots, on passes. Hopefully, we won't forget that lesson. 2 down, 4 to go. Go Hawks!!!
This was a hard fought game. Happy for the Seniors for keeping their cool and getting the job done in the moment, it was getting questionable whether they'd win their last game in Iowa City. Hannah looked completely lost out there tonight and that should be addressed. Whenever she got the ball she was going out in space and got lost.. credit to WV for that but she was careless with the ball.
Looked like Hannah received some rough attention from their defense. When she was knocked down with her right arm captured she could have been seriously injured. Making the free throws was her response, and it was crucial to the win
Meanwhile, at the LSU post-game press conference, they were talking about how they knew they needed to "cut the snake's head off" - whatever that means.
WV game plan succeded. It deserves some praise. Iowa is the top scoring team in the NCAA from making shots, not FTs. WV made more 3pt shots than Iowa. They deserve credit for having enough buddies to sacrifice for the cause. Iowa isn't shooting very many FTs normally As a sign is so many WVs committed more fouls than they took shots.
