I've seen Del many times but I saw David once. I was drinking a Busch beer on draft at a saloon in West Friendship, Maryland. I had all my recording gear and mics in my truck. David bumped it to me at the bar and said do you want to buy me a drink. I didn't recognize him at first. I said to what, you don't have any money? He opened his wallet out and it was bare. Bought him a drink and the owner brought out the instruments. I set up and recorded the set in x-y format with two Shure mics in to TACAM DAP1 digital deck. David was in Baltimore for a concert at a local college. Still have the masters. Ronnie McCoury played there many times. Have a great master recording of him with some local famous people. Amazing how Americana and bluegrass touch the hearts and lives of people that want it.
Best of the best I have heard in years.Del and Dawg, thank you!
