He will come to Carlton and my Adelaide mates will be absolutely spewing , especially years later when he has won a premiership or two at Carlton and no desire to go back to SA
As we see with Crippa, even without on-field success the pull to go home isn’t necessarily that strong. Carlton was a bottom team in his first 6 seasons, while West Coast, his childhood love, were contenders during that time and even won the thing 2018 when Crippa was in his 5th season. I imagine that it has to be quite exciting moving to Melbourne from Perth or Adelaide at that age, as the city is much bigger and more lively and there is way more “to see” for a young person.
I have zero concern of the go home factor. Lad is light years ahead of others in maturity. Been a leader his entire career and has a very level head on his shoulders.
This was a national chat and he has to say that he's open to moving, but all the dialog in adelaide on the news and radio is that he and his whole family is praying he gets to the crows (im adelaide based)
Agree Terry that Carlton don't lose players to the go-home factor, especially from neighbouring SA. Playing 75% prime time footy in front of 60k-80k makes players forget about home pretty quickly....but it's obviously a bit different for the kids drafted to the Giants and Suns etc. For mine, I think it has to be Draper or O'Sullivan and not Smith. We don't need another accumulator when Walsh, Cripps, Hewitt get 80+ between them most weeks. We need something a bit different. I haven't seen as much of either of them as I would have liked but it seems like O'Sullivan does most of his work as an inside mid and has good evasion, whereas Draper runs away from stoppages and has more line breaking in his game, so I tend to lean towards Draper. Don't think we can really go wrong with either of them though, as long as they don't end up being Dow 2.0.
How Draper combines, speed, agility, burst/explosiveness and just sheer athleticism with elite ball use skills, vision, quick thinking and just generally high footy IQ got me immediately sold on him. Did Vossy talk to others as well? If not, then Draper must be the favourite.
The Carlton SA mafia of retired players will welcome Draper and cuddle him - Kernahan, Bradley, McKay and Scott Camporeale if we draft his son. Still cannot comprehend any conversation around Carlton taking Smith - he does not align with what Carlton needs in its midfield
@@jacksummersides9768 Oh well, happy with Jagga Smith. I reckon Carlton did Adelaide a favour. Draper is ready to go, Smith needs to put a bit of beef on yet.
I dislike Cal Twomey's contention that Jagger Smith has been a favourite for a while now... Because we need the point of difference that we would get from Sid Draper & FOS....LIKE MOST ON YOUR SHOWS I WANT. SID DRAPER FOR US IDEALLY
The only player we recently had to trade out due to homesickness - sort of, if we're being kind - was Sam Petrevski-Seaton. Busistow wouldn't have moved back home if not for his father. Anyone else?
Is Draper a little bit same same with what we already have in the midfield He is big and strong but isn’t that our achilles atm in the mid? All big and strong and therefore a bit slow? I think I would rather see someone like Lord get his chances as a contested player over a draftee getting games ahead of him because of the pick number attached to them I’ve come to like Jagger They say he has leadership qualities already, very consistent at training and games and is a tough bugger who can take a hit considering his size and has good mobility and speed
AFL phantom draft has linked us to Smith as well as Twoomey. All the mock drafts from all outside trad media has Smith nowhere near us. I don’t understand this disconnect. Does trad media throw deliberate curve balls to keep us all invested?
Jagger Smith Will be called out by Carlton pick three and the doubters whom think he is wrong for Carlton will have paint on there face yeh. The guy is a freak and for those who think he has no speed and power and makes up ground idk who u been watching , and durable not injury prone yeah

Really loved this update! Great work Terry 😊

I really like Sid, there no way he’d go back home. I really hope we go for him.
Sid’s gonna look elite in the number 7

I have so much anxiety over this pick 3. If we can get a ready made star alongside cripps and Walsh would just be so good.

He would be a whopper next to our Crippa.. beautiful combination. Really hope this happens!! 2025 BLUES LETS GO!!
Coming to the Blues mate!
😂

I'm team Draper
Saw Jagger and FOS play in 2023 and got Kane Lucas vibes off both
None of the first 6 picks will flop.

We don't really have a midfielder with the pace & lateral movement of Draper.
It's so hard to know.
Getting exciting now.
@@BlueAbroad It is hard to know!
So long as we draft someone who’s key attributes include mobility + speed I think everyone will be happy
He is not big at all. Actually quite small.
How good is it to be a Blues supporter .
Are u doing a live stream on draft day ??
@@scotmclaughlin2113 yes indeed!
He's now my #1 pick
Hi Terry, thank you for the constant updates. I am interested in which player we will pick up in the draft.

He's not being very subtle, wearing the Navy Blue already
Jagger Smith reminds me of Nick Diacos 😁
Agreed if his at pick 3 we must take him
Jagga Smith has no kicking penatration and can only kick 40 metres max.
Hi terry Do you and pommy plan to do both draft nights ??

Terry mate please stop with the clickbaity titles, I’ll watch your videos without them
Lol, why on earth would we go for smith? Another safe accumulator, exits defensive of stoppage. Not what we need at all.
👀👀👀
No matter who u choose it will still be another 30 years till u taste the ultimate. Glazed by the afl second rate side at best .
