@@bibianaguadalupeislasherre9880they are in a way tbh. The issue is that employers cannot be the ones to pay because it is economically ridiculous to pay people who don't work. The money in other nations comes from the government who get it from taxes.... Here comes the issue though: how many people will pay those taxes yet never have children? And also, governments are becoming less trustworthy by the day. Is adding more taxes really going to result in a good scenario when america prints money like crazy and everything loses value? My solution would be to train new generations of kids ever since school days to , instead of paying taxes every month, invest or save that same ammount towards their future children and maternity leave. Think about it. If you pay 20$ a week in taxes for maternity leave in the future... You wont know exactly how that money will actually be used by the government. Why can't you instead put 20$ a week in a safe every week and when you have children in 10/15 years you'll have money to raise them. But people aren't raised like this and governments get too many taxes... Even for things that a particular person might not ever need in their life.
How could you be against abortion, and be against paid maternity time after birth, or against free birth? You shouldn’t even need a job or work to get paid maternity time to be with your baby. Also, only women get put into collections if they can’t afford the bill after birth. My deductible is $6875 on my HSA and then it’s still 10% of bills after that. When a baby is born, it’s only billed to the mother as a mothers bill, never the father!

So basically we should pay women to reproduce. You're proposal would not put more women into the workforce. It would put more women on payrolls, being paid for the work done by others.
Wtf. How did you get America should pay maternity/paternity leave because it not only benefits mothers and fathers but wider society as a whole and draw the conclusion that we want to pay people to reproduce. Like what? Here's the thing, you made it seem like such a liability that people are having kids when we need people to have kids to keep countries running. I mean take a look at China today. I mean if you pay maternity leave, cos I'm guessing that's what you have an issue with, then I think the woman would be more likely to go back to work afterwards. Like if you pay women maternity leave, then you would only have them on a 'payroll' as you so put it for a short period of time. Compare that to if you didn't have maternity leave, the mother would probably have to quit their job on order to look after their child and subsequently have to get welfare from the state. @the_ troubled_slappfest with no childcare policy so women have to choose between their careers or having kids. I have 2 female cousins in china who had to make that choice. They did end up having kids but only because of familiar pressure. And only AFTER they have parents who are retired. My cousins had to go back to work after 4 weeks. Canada provide 12 months maternity leave.
My job offers FMLA.. we get 12 weeks UNPAID LEAVE. My job doesn't offer paid sick leave n we only get paid vacation time after a year. I work 12hrs for 4 days a week and I still live paycheck to paycheck. I literally told my bf if I get pregnant I'm either quitting my job cuz I'm scared I'll lose the baby during pregnancy thx to the long stressful hrs of my job or I'm getting an abortion.
In Canada you get 33% of your salary for 14 month. Or 8 month for 50% of your salary. So actually just rich couples can afford to take parental leVe. If you minimum wage...forget it
How about you plan pregnancy based on your economic condition? Like you can delay getting pregnant when you don't have the time nor resources to take care of the child.
(I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not American so I'm not entirely sure how it works over there) But the point you just made not only removes the responsibility from the government to look after its citizens but it also boils it down to this being a problem for people who don't prepare for shit. When it isn't. This from what I've seen and read isn't an issue that people can solve individually. Looking at stuff like this and seeing it as a person by person issue is what allows systems like this to be held because it removes accountability for those who puts these structures in place to begin with which is the government, which historically hasn't given a shit about people.

Now she wants the man’s support but y’all are talking to us and about us like this? What’s wrong with you? Regardless, who was the other half of creating that baby in the first place? Why in the hell would an employer want to hire a young woman over a man if she stands a strong likelihood of becoming a major financial liability to the company due to motherhood? There's two sides to every coin, and this debate needs to include the other side of the equation.
This way of thinking is the problem. We can subsidize parental leave like other countries do to avoid companies from complaining bout losing profit that they aren't losing. It would be the government responsibility not the companies. The main is everyone keeps saying "Think about the companies!" Instead of "Think about the families!'. Once people in the US really stop having kids, these companies won't have any products to sell to. Their new consumers would be gone. The other argument only hurts the American people and will eventually hurt the economy. You can't have an economy without people.
