      @@morgandunn8163 Yeah and?
It's not England's fault that they have set a new Standard for Women's rugby dragging it into the 21st century kicking and screaming, the other teams must now either go professional or accept defeat at every game, I would even argue that it's unfair on England to have to keep playing amateurs all the time as it's holding them back from developing much further,
Most of the Rugby Unions have the money to spend developing their women's side the sooner they invest in their teams the sooner the games will improve drawing bigger crowds more sponsors, the women’s games in England have exploded in the last couple of years and the size of the crowds are doubling year on year, to the point where the RedRoses are going to play their first fully independent test at England's flagship rugby stadium with pretty much all tickets put up for sale sold out already, England's money loss funding the RedRoses is shrinking each year and is at the point where in the next couple of years they will make a profit, most Unions can do this if they want to spend the money. They are the ones damaging women's rugby by holding it back.

Boring in my opinion. Best try was when the Aussies move the ball left and scored with multiple passes. That's what rugby is supposed to be about. It's turned into League with "legalized" illegal in my day mauls and phony rucks with no contesting to speak of. England has the size in the forwards and I can't blame them to use them and cut the backs out of the game, but New Zealand has had an excellent back division in recent years and might run rampant. Ironic how NZ took what the '71 Lions taught them and went to 15 man rugby in the last half century, and the women's side has followed the men to do the same and that's why they won in 2017.

Pity about the officials gifting the Aussies their only points. A blatant "not ten" kick off preceded that passage of play.
The Ball should have been in England's hands at a scrum on the centre spot, instead of with the Aussie backs.....
It's not the first time in this tournament that the ref has made a decision for the badly losing side and against the laws of the game. It's almost like they've been told to give struggling sides a bit of a chance.....

I agree about the officials not getting it right! I thought the English Lock should have been *red carded* as she clearly made *shoulder to head contact* on the Aussie player, as she cleard the ruck.
It's been *red card* for Mens team too *exactly same incident Brodie Retallick v Japan* clearing out the ruck shoulder on head contact he got a *red* the English Lock only got a yellow! They clearly dodged a bullet there England as incident happened in the first half they would've been under the pump for remainder of the game.

Is anyone else bemused by the yellow card for foul play by the England second row? It’s ironic that the player with the ball has her head lower than the defender, she can’t see the defender but is guilty of causing the head contact. In most cases it’s the defender who is expected to get their head lower. I would be grateful if someone could explain this decision. Well done the Roses, yet another impressive win.

Poor Hannah Botterman: scores a perfectly good try, and a less than organised referee disalows it. Another big performance from England's front row, sets the scene for a decent victory in watery conditions. It reminded me of the pitch at Abingdon-on-Thames in the olden days, when the river would often burst its banks - what would you like, the referee used to ask, to play with or against the tide first half?

Handling in the scrum, offside lines arbitrary, try-line positioning woeful, no management but lots of chat when the ball is dead (that's a real giveaway about a ref's performance), and as for the scrums - well, don't get me going! @@Dickie2702 Yes, quite agree: it all started in the 1990s, when the RFU appointed two schoolteachers to be head of the refereeing department: like many teachers they could deliver a curriculum, but had no insight or innovation - and the game was changing fast. Referees with character were dispensed with, becausse they challenged the ego-led administrators and exposed them for what they were - which was hopeless. Rob Andrew (Squeaky) was in charge at the time, and if a good player (at times) he was a hopeless manager but 'safe' for the RFU - who eventually 'found him out' and saved themselves £265K a year - yes, that was his salary to achieving nothing. I could go on all day (oh please, do let me!) because I got 'chucked out' as well, for telling the truth about how referee assessments were being 'fiddled' to suit their favourites - completely true. Oh well, now 76, but still refereeing in France when time permits, using less whistle but more verbals these days (What was that penalty for, referee? For being a naughty Boy - now clear off, or I'll tell your Mum what a twerp you were being). Humble player retreats, chastened.
Never, ever, failed, and still never does.
      Happy Days.

Phenomenal effort and a great win yet again. Typical Red Roses win with their dominance stamped throughout! The area of concern yet again is the conversion % on the kicks. Emily is world class but she seems off colour in the last few games averaging very very mediocre rates. (heavy rain or not). In games where these misses don't amount to much its ok, but like yesterday's SCO v AUS men's game , a single kick could make that difference. that success rate but I would be tempted to make her first choice kicker. ES has been inconsistent for a while, it must be down to her injury also. This needs to be sorted out as the Red Roses cannot afford to miss so many conversions at this stage of the tournament. Perhaps Helena should be getting more opportunity.

No matter how much people try to big women's rugby league and Union up, and no matter how good the English team currently are against their counterparts , no one is interested or wants to watch it

      What do you mean bias?
There's no bias with England getting to the five yard line, over and over again.
There's no bias in a 30 match winning streak.

When I played rugby, mauls such as in today's game were totally illegal. It's legalized obstruction. I don't know exactly when the law changed, but in the early and mid 2000s, teams employing this tactic started to get away with it, with players ahead of the ball carrier. That needs to change back to the old law. Very simply, a ball carrier could have teammates bind on behind and shove him/her forward. No teammate could be in front of the ball carrier. The ball carrier's back would face the opposition, and if the maul was stopped, then the player attempted to get the ball back to an acting scrum half or scrum half.
