Thank you Johnny. Your right about time consuming. Each full chain was Taking out an hour to complete. But like you said very rewarding

This is a great build you’ve done sir. I’ll be sad when it’s done but I can’t wait to see it finished.

That was a good idea on the chain wales. I did mine by the instructions but have not mounted them yet. I see were I am going to have a problem closing the loop. I am almost there I am working on the gallery right now.

John what is the brand and model number of the electric in hand held drill . I want to buy one to use on my ship model because I’m really tired of drilling everything by hand it’s a lot easier with the handheld electric drill. Thanks . Great video and keep videos coming. I really like and have learned many valuable tips on how to make many parts.

An interesting exercise BUT, what have you done with the John whose attention to the smallest details I’ve come to admire and find inspirational?
Is it the camera angles that are making the chain links look distorted and different from each other?
Why silver solder as opposed to regular solder? I’ve used silver solder where I needed exceptional joint strength which, in my mind, is not crucial for these chains.
    I am perplexed...

Hi luis. What you have to remember. that I’m soldering with a camera, almost blocking my view. and I having to look through my camera. Just To get people a close up view. A lot of the time. What I film for the videos. Never make it on to my victory, and I make more after the cameras stopped filming, and with normal solder, I made some test joints beforehand and the minute to try and form the shape needed. 9 times out of 10 the joint would fail and break. And if you read most modelship builders books. It’s always recommended silver solder.,hope this clears things up

I am building a ship HMS Victory. In the magazine - stage 49, on page 12, step 14 it is said : “To make the breech rope, cut a 90-mm length of the thicker cord. Feed one end through a ring, then fold about 3 mm of cord back on itself. Glue this to simulate a splice, in the same way as you did in Step 13.
in the step 15 repeat Steps 14 and 15 to prepare 10 sets of tackle
However on stage 49 there is only one cord that is 50 mm long. Did you have enough thread in stage 49 to create cannon? Because for me 50mm looks not enough to create 10 cannons

Hi my friend. I’m not 100% sure how I overcome the issue. I’m sure the cord wasn’t long enough. So I want though the later issue. Where we receive more of the Same cord removed the cord and used that to fit the cannons, hope this helps
