    Armwrestling today is full on BS, back in the days we restled with the ARM. We didnt throw our body almost on the floor in order to win. Either you had the strongest ARM or you didnt......

      No because you use the ARM, you dont have 300 lb hanging on it because your body had to be straight up.

  • @PainH8er
    @PainH8er ปีที่แล้ว +20

    Auden this is a great video. I think it would be so helpful if you did a playlist on this subject. This is a great first video. But then start going over other basics, like toproll, posting toproll, sweeping toproll, hooking, high hooking, pressing, kings move, etc. you could go into both the technique and the muscles/exercises to train those specific techniques.
    To my knowledge, nothing like this exists on TH-cam, and you are such a good teacher that it could become a “go to” for anyone looking to get into the sport. Right now I don’t really have a good, all inclusive resource to share with anyone that is interested.
    Great job on the video!

    I caused a bicep tear on a friend, and a year later, I witnessed a friend breaking another friend's arm while armwrestling. 2 in less than a year was a bit much, honestly. I love it, but I wonder how many injuries were caused by the rising popularity of the sport and people not really having a clue what could happen. Yeah, as someone experienced, it is your responsibility to show them how to do it safely, but the moment ego strikes is the moment all of that dissapears and they just go into the worst possible positions, angles and whatnot....

    • @uxti3556
      @uxti3556 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      i can confirm i watched videos of armwrestling and got excited, i hit the gym and started to get stronger, so i started armwrestling and few months later i got way too excited and ended up breaking my arm by moving wrongly as he shown in 4th point, i leaned too much to the side and pushed instead of pulling and also i wasnt even looking at my arm i actually closed my eyes and hoped for the best while i do my max power, sadly all i heard was a bang and then my arm was on the table broken, it has been 4 months now and i still have some pain, i dont think i will 100% recover from this, but if i had known all the safety measures and the tips i wouldve been much better now, sad. i hope people learn from this video.

    • @AlrightThere
      @AlrightThere ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In my opinion its not even worth armwrestling without an armwrestling table and if you do you need to be there either to practise or competition. Ego armwrestling is a one way trip to hurting yourself

    • @nikola12nis
      @nikola12nis ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@AlrightThere Exactly. Imagine going for a boxing match with your friend, without any actual training or skill. Someone's bound to get a broken knuckle, dislocated jaw and so on. The problem here is it's extremely accessible, you can do it on any table, but the risk is too high. I still love armwrestling though, more than any other sport out there.

    • @AlrightThere
      @AlrightThere ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nikola12nis Agreed anyone with an arm can armwrestle anywhere. I see so many videos recently from random people having an "armwrestling match" and its just two people pulling on a normal table in their back garden but with very poor technique. We gotta get people educated

    I have been a disability arm wrestler for over 50 years.
    My first girlfriend [Spinia Bifidia] and myself [Cerebral Palsy] type 2 fell in love with the sport of Arm Wrestling after the British commercial television channel I.T.V. Independent Television. broadcast the 1973 British Women*s Arm Wrestling Championships at the old Empire pool stadium in Wembley England. The championship ended up in the final match where the 54 year old finalists accidently broke her 17 year old*s arm. 48 hours later on Monday my girlfriend and myself saw this and fell in love with Arm Wrestling. The first thing about Arm Wrestling to start off with is just start slow and keep it fun. Then if you like it continue,if not that is fine too. So many young girls and older women look at the sport here of arm breaks and will not come back to the sport. The same with Disability Arm Wrestling as well. Keep up the good work. Best wishes to you.

    Actually, the most impressive thing about the video is that it sounds like it was scripted and almost learned by heart. I think not only do you have a future in arm wrestling as such, which is probably obvious to anyone for a long time, but also as a commentator/teacher. At such a young age, if it's so natural for you, you could really excel in it. I would say that you are already are step ahead of your father, who on his own is really great at it.
