That Bonahm and Jones riff together starting at 8:25 is bad ass. Bonham's crossovers staring at 8:46 is one of the many reasons why he's the best in the biz, and still remains to this day decades after his death.
HOW THE FUCK DOES HE MAKE THE BOW SOLO SOUND SO CLEAN?!? ive tried this at home and i cant make it sound as clear as this. JIMMY IS UNDOUBTEDLY GOD OF GUITAR
It was 15 years old when I saw TSRS and this subject for the first time especially, flew the brains to me, 30 years ago of that, nothing would sound equal. Nothing will sound equal. The band of sound of all my life, and the one that remains.
OMG!! How I love this... has to be one of my all time faves... so far ahead from Jimmy's Yardbirds days. Just as exciting to here now as it was back then
thanx for the post. Zeppelin was just awesome. One thing that makes them so great is that Plant wasn't a posing front man but supported the guitar in improve riffs
Probably my favorite live video as far as being able to see all 4 of them doing what they do best..so far ahead of their time IMO. My all time favorite band, and if I live to be 100 I'm confident that will still be the case
could u imagine being a teen back in those days...listening to the beatles and that doo op stuff from the 60's.. then u hear about some new band called led zeppelin, and u go see them...and u sit there in the audience not knowing what to think and all of a sudden this song comes on and u see jimmy tearin up his guitar with a bow, plant is moanin like he's gettin a piper and bonham is just beatin the bass into your heart....must have been a real culture shock. lucky m/f's to be there.
I was at this concert. what can you say about it that hasnt been said. I never thought I would see it again. Im glad someone had the sense to record it. you kind of just accept it as a really good concert then move on, but this was special even at the time.
Absolutely amaizing the best song and version of this song simply awesome its just like a trip with my M.J oooo Yeah!!!! everything is colorfull............
How the hell does Jonesy keep with that bass line like that. I can hardly play with the studio version. I'm pretty sure this version would give the average bass player arthritis.
jimmy is so cool playing guitar with a bow! A BOW for f*** sakes!!! Who does that?! it sounds amazing and he looks amazing.... like the rest of Led Zeppelin! The best vocalist, drummer, bass and guitarist the world has ever seen or heard!!! EVER!!
i had this on a VCR tape years ago from a show that was done called "SUPERSHOW" with about 15 other groups on it...really good show and alot of famous bands on it.
I'm supposed to clean my room, but this was in my recommended videos shouldn't have clicked it 'cause now my room will never get clean! Bet mum and dad ain't gonna be happy because of this!
When I first bought this DVD I kept hearing 0:27-0:47 in my head, even in my dreams. It's so haunting. I bet he had a lot of fun with that bow during his time.
damnit i love how jones keeps the bass line 4:02 - 6:11 every member of this band contributes everything they have...this has to be my favorite live performance from zeppelin.
listen to that freakin drum beat? page's guitar is just unreal. i never seen a more powerfull performance then this led zeppelin song. man they really ruled back in 1970. no one even comes close.
It actually wasn't an individual song, it was my dad's "Early Days" CD. I hated the CD when I first listened to it, but over time I kept coming back to it and it grew on me, until I eventually couldn't get enough of it. That was the point where I became OBSESSED with Led Zeppelin. I would wear a long black whig that my mom had to make myself look like Jimmy Page, lol. I still like them, but I'm not THAT crazy about them anymore. I still only dream of being as good on the guitar as Jimmy, lol.
I was at this concert, and this is agood version of the track, though the one they played in londons lyceum in october 1969 was like this but faster . Im still looking for it on youtube. also, as far as I know the great version of since Ive been loving you from the albert hall didnt make it onto any dvd or video, which is a shame
Guitar solo? Everybody was soloing here! Hammer Of The Gods.
To anybody who doesn't understand why Jimmy Page plays his guitar with a bow, smoke some weed and listen again.
Saw these boys live from 68' through 78'. Don't need to say much more than this. I was there.....!

No shit!! Some things are best left alone, just appreciate what has been laid down for us to enjoy

im so sick of not being alive for led zeppelin. the greatest rock band of all time.
It was 15 years old when I saw TSRS and this subject for the first time especially, flew the brains to me, 30 years ago of that, nothing would sound equal. Nothing will sound equal.
The band of sound of all my life, and the one that remains.
i always loved how no matter how large the stage is, they always stay really close together
OMG!! How I love this... has to be one of my all time faves... so far ahead from Jimmy's Yardbirds days. Just as exciting to here now as it was back then
It's amazing how you just get inspired to play your guitar after watching any live song by Led Zeppelin
Long live Led Zep!

thanx for the post. Zeppelin was just awesome. One thing that makes them so great is that Plant wasn't a posing front man but supported the guitar in improve riffs
Led Zeppelin to me represent music that is infinite and alive. Music without limits.
Probably my favorite live video as far as being able to see all 4 of them doing what they do best..so far ahead of their time IMO. My all time favorite band, and if I live to be 100 I'm confident that will still be the case

jimmy is so cool playing guitar with a bow! A BOW for f*** sakes!!! Who does that?! it sounds amazing and he looks amazing.... like the rest of Led Zeppelin! The best vocalist, drummer, bass and guitarist the world has ever seen or heard!!! EVER!!
I can't imagine them doing this in rehearsal. It just seems so improvised. Pure power flowing through that guitar-violin thingy.
Man I wish I could see these guys live in concert!
i had this on a VCR tape years ago from a show that was done called "SUPERSHOW" with about 15 other groups on it...really good show and alot of famous bands on it.
