Very few food items divide people like a jackfruit does. Most people can’t even agree on whether it’s a fruit or a vegetable. But one lady is making everyone fall in love with it. Based in Nooranad in Kerala, Rajasree R has been making over 400 products out of jackfruit for the last 6 years. She uses every part of jackfruit (tender, raw and ripe) to make - all-purpose flour, jackfruit pasta, jackfruit burger patties, jackfruit vermicelli, payasam mix, jackfruit seed flour, chocolates, soaps, tooth powder and more. #India #jackfruit #cooking #kerala

My mom made every possible dish with Jackfruit during the Jackfruit fruiting season as we have a lot of Jackfruit trees. My pleasure food is kumbilappam, made with kumbil (a type of bay)leaves, jackfruit, jaggery and maida or semolina.

My 92 year old grandma makes kathal sabji dry and gravy.
We have it's biriyani of course because kathal has highest protein of any vegetables.
Then we have achar of kathal and sirka... 😋...
Lastly, when ripe eat it's pulp so sweet and delicious.
So yeah 6 saal se Koch naya nai kar rahi...

Our National Fruit is Jackfruit (কাঁঠাল, Kathal). Sorry to say but it is boring. The only interesting part of it is it's seed.❤ This lady make it interesting though. Hats off to her. ❤
