    If Camelot has a million fans I am one of them. If Camelot has ten fans I am one of them. If Camelot has only one fan and that is me. If Camelot has no fans, that means I am no longer on Earth

    I was lucky enough to see Camelot live on stage with Richard Harris when I was a kid and it was truly magical, and I can't wait for this update. Phillipa Soo will be perfection, but this new Arthur isn't quite there yet, however I love the wink he gives at the end - he just needs a little seasoning perhaps.

      Lucky you!! I’ve never seen Camelot on stage. But growing up we had the Richard Burton/Julie Andrews/Robert Goulet album and now I have the CD. Have seen many Broadway shows but not this one. Some day…

      he was absolutely wonderful, made the show for me - saw it tonight

    I have been a Camelot fan since 1969! I saw Richard Harris in the movie and on Broadway. I also saw Richard Burton at Lincoln Center. I think your King Arthur is too young but will reserve judgement until I see the play in April! Good luck!

    I remember seeing the original with Robert Goulet, Richard Burton, Julie Andrews. Dates me. Would love to be able to go to the revival esp considering the cast.

    I'm hoping they'll eventually perform "What do the simple folk do" for a publicity show, just like Andrews and Burton did on Ed Sullivan!

    Hate the snarky new dialogue written by Aaron Sorkin, but that's what Broadway shows are about now. And is Guinevere French? Hope they are more dynamic once they get onstage.

    Always makes me suspicious in a musical when one character is frustrated & wants their scene partner’s song to end… but they dont join or have an arc… but hey, Camelot worked so well the 1st time…

      @misslegacyatheart ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I think it has to do with the book being updated. I actually like it because it seems to give Guinevere a little more depth.

      I think this will make the love triangle less lopsided. My impression from this is Arthur challenges Guinevere while Lancelot is the romance she's dreamed of.

    Hmmm. Seems she should be won over or finding it all hard to resist by the end of the song. This looks more like "The West Wing."

    And did they put in curses in this new production? I couldn't catch it but thought I heard papas ass?

      I think she calls him a jackass, I kind of like their banter. I personally always thought the relationship between arthur and gueneviere was one note. I think this will add some depth.

    Remove the Ramin Karimloo article.
    1) the term Broadway body never even had much light until this article now gave it attention! Making things worse
    2) a female interviewer shouldn’t have even been asking him about his body
    3) the article comes across as a brag. Not a good look!

    It doesn’t work with American accents and slack diction. Lerner was an absolute Anglophile and a superb expert in British English of all classes - he wrote My Fair Lady and Londoners can’t fault it. It’s a disservice to the text.

  • @voxextremos22

    Man this guy’s voice sounds so thin compared to Jordan Donica and Pippa’s.

    • @breezingby2611
      @breezingby2611 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Well, they never actually cast a singer as Arthur. Like Higgins in My Fair Lady, Arthur is played by actors who more so speak rhythmically than sing

    • @theatrebear
      @theatrebear ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yes, but "this guy" will be the best actor. Richards Burton and Harris weren't "singers" either.

    • @macrent2
      @macrent2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@theatrebear Arthur is not supposed to have a great voice.

    • @ProuvaireJean
      @ProuvaireJean ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I actually think he has a nice voice, but it doesn't hit you in the same way as Jordan Donica's. Which works for the show - Arthur has to have a different, less visceral sort of appeal than Lancelot.

    Awful. Why is he pronouncing "Camelot" like with that bright closed A sound? Like he has a Brooklyn accent.

    • @smurf902
      @smurf902 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't even insult Brooklyn like that. This is a really pronounced Western NY/Midwestern accent. Absolutely horrific. It's like they're in high school
