Consistent Fall of Faith (Tethers) - FRU Phase 1

  • REASONS THIS IS BETTER THAN CONGA:
    There is just ~3seconds to get into position after last tether spawns
    Last tether decides the position of 5 out of 8 people for conga
    If a single person goes wrong on conga or thunder bait memes its a wipe
    This has 7/8 in position before the last tether spawns
    Because of this, if someone made a mistake, the last player can spot it and adjust, saving the pull
    The majority of players have much more time to resolve the mechanic with no downside
    The strat is extremely easy, as 4 players only need to react to their tether and the other 4 people merely have to watch their side if a tether appears (regardless which tether it is or where the person is going)

    We like it, our static adopted this. Feels less hectic over all, easier for gamers to adjust 1 at a time and some might not have to move at all namely caster/healers.

    FWIW, in conga, the leftmost 2 people and rightmost 2 people are already guaranteed to be left/right so long as they don't get tether, so this is essentially the same kind of thing (replacing the ends of the conga with helper spots), just shifting timing responsibilities around.
    I did cook up a different "fill strat" like this on my own but honestly with having 3 different zones and people having to keep track, it's probably just not worth it with the visual noise. I trust more that people in a conga will be able to tell how many people are to their left and right (either being 3/0 or 2/1) than them correctly keeping their eyes on the spawning tethers and seeing people moving between the tether zones.

      Similarly I dont trust people to stay in the line till the 4th tether and then 4 ppl move into position and not f*** each other with thunder baits.
      The main advantage of this strat is that its basically impossible to have a thunder bait incident and 3/4 ppl have a lot of time to do their thing.
      Also since 7/8 ppl are in position at the end, you can actually adjust last second if something went wrong. On conga if someone went wrong its already a wipe, because there is no time after you see where everyone went.

    Would have loved for a in-game example being played out after the toolbox

    Just sounds way more confusing than the regular conga strat

    This has more moving parts for pf to fuck up than conga.

      You think one person moving every 3 seconds is harder than 4 people moving at the same time in the last 3 seconds of the mechanic + trying not to kill each other with thunder baits?

      @MyVanir หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@menardyxiv Yes. Getting the move right once is easier than getting it right multiple times.

      We actually have already talked about this strat in my static before this video was posted and laughed that we found it. It's got too many rules and moving parts 100%. Conga is genuinely just a skill issue with not keeping it consistent. Only thing I say would help with conga is just condense the line up as people leave

      @@menardyxiv yes I agree with the other comments, this is absolutely going to be even harder for pf. Conga isn't that complicated and you still get time to adjust for stack or spread before the first tether concludes

    Do you have this in raidplan form? It's easier to reference than watching a video everytime.

    I will be completely honest brother, I don't see pf adapting to this as the potential movement and things to look at is far more than the N/S monitor conga thats currently used.
    The main good part of N/S monitors is that the community is used to it from TOP and the things to look at are way less than this strat.
    Yes theoretically 7/8 will usually be on spot but when you need to adjust to need to look at far more players than the N/S conga where if you are tether you ignore the conga and non-tether just counts the remainin people. This works on paper and in theory but need far more prog time than to just "open your eyes, count, go"

    • @menardyxiv
      @menardyxiv  หลายเดือนก่อน

      First off, this strat does not require prog time at all. We swapped to this from conga and literally did it first try.
      Secondly, even if it did, if its just 5% more consistent its worth it. Its an ultimate. You'll have 1000+ pulls in it. 5% consistency on a P1 mech is 50 pulls where you saw further instead.
      On the other hand I concede to the will of PF to suffer all throughout prog as long as they get to do the strat that seems easier on paper. Most PF ppl are already used to conga, so they are hyper biased towards it. Noone wants to re-learn a strat. 99% of ppl I meet will see a new (better) strat and claim its worse or not worth doing merely for the fact they haven't done it and learned something else, neither giving it a fair shot nor attempting to properly understand it.

    So it's just conga but in a "square position"
    Which I agree with since moving from south to north in the last 2 pop of tether can be annoying and inconsistent, also I don't get the going north since in pf congo they do line from west to east and then proceed to go north instead of just doing west east for less movement

    • @yallqaeda1349
      @yallqaeda1349 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not really - tanks and melee have a ridiculous amount of responsibility on conga line while healers and ranged have basically none. This strat evens out responsibility more.

    • @NoXiiZz
      @NoXiiZz หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@yallqaeda1349 well that's not true because you saying responsibility as have to move more and taking the right spot, well the responsability just shifted there, healer and ranged have it easier and tank and melee have to move the most
