My girlfriend, who had never heard live jazz, was speechless. Almost a religious experience listening to him.
This is one of my favourites ever and my son who is autistic as a wee little guy around two and a half this and Robert Rich songs were among the only things that could calm him down and then he'd smile. Glory! Thanks for posting this.

I heard this song this morning on the jazz station when I was driving to work with my dad. Normally I snooze during the commute, but when this song came on I was all ears. The drums are more than toe-tapping worthy; the piano melody is infectious; the bass is like sitting in a relaxing bubble bath in a spa. Amazing. Simply A-MAZING.
This is a marvelous rendition of Poinciana! All three are in harmonious communication! This is my favorite, absolutely beautiful!! It is captured for all time.
I've been listening to Ahmad Jamal since I was a kid in 1958. Heard him in Paris "live" later at the Blue Note Cafe when I was in school there. Then in NYC, and here in LA. He's an old friend by now, and Poinciana by Ahmad, Idris and James will live forever in the annals of great music! Frank Lutz.

This is (rhythmically, at least) the most faithful rendition to the 'Pershing Lounge' LP version; Mr. Muhammed has faithfully rendered Vernell Fournier's sound. You may as well set your watches to him, so precise is his playing. This tune is about the beauty of restraint, and all the glorious notes in between.

Cammack and Muhammed are just monsters of groove. Jamal is great that its easy to miss how sweet the band is.
