The original concept of the Skyline was a luxury saloon,then the gtr was the performance version…so it’s still a skyline really
FACTS they started as a 4dr the r34 is just a coupe to a sedan

As mentioned, the speed limiter is 180KMH or 112MPH - Standard here in Japan. You can have the limiter removed ;)

had an "HKS Speed Limiter Defencer" on an AE-111, easy enough to fit. If you know the pin out for the ECU and are handy with a few tools...>230kph on a NA 1.6 20v with a 5Zigen exhaust and no engine mods...stated 165bhp as stock. not bad for a 1998 vintage Toyota 2 door (mild) coupe..

Popular car in the US as an 'INFINITY G35'
The 350GT in this iteration (V36) is 311bhp. Not 270bhp. It's a fair bit of power for a NA V6. Also, that coupe that you referenced to having a different dash, it's the previous generation (V35), it has the older VQ35 in it that makes 276bhp.
Not the biggest Nissan Fan but DAMN that 350 GT!

Never seen one before but I absolutely love this car it's so unique and unusual looks good drives even better its comfortable and fairly luxurious and most of all its FUN a car I could and would totally live with and have to keep for a long time LOVE IT great video
I considered buying one of these as a daily. Reliable and comfy, and quick enough to be good on overtaking etc

@@jamesk771 I have the new model to that car, in Japan they call it the skyline but everywhere else its the infiniti q50, I have the q50s hybrid, its an amazing car for the money.
@@jamesk771 skylines as a brand never stopped production, the NA iterations are branded as G''s and Q's....skylines are NOT just GTRs...for examples the R35 GTR isn't a skyline.
Totally fine being a Skyline. RWD and 300ish hp, similar to a non-GTR R Body
My dad has one in Jamaica from 2007. Still has it to this day.
Once u get one of these you gain to love it , either buy another one or hold onto it

Seen a few of the skylines about but only seen your one a couple of times it's usually the coupe, I love this one though
That's a type S, so you do get LSD, bugger brakes, different suspension, paddle shifters etc

Big Single turbo the 3.7 or swap in a 2J or RB... I 2J swapped my coupe.

The v36 skyline is different from the v35, thoose have 310hp, and the speed limiter is at 112mph, but that can be tuned out, basically all JDM cars have it

I had a 2005 V35 350GT (Coupe with rare Manual). That engine looks like a VQ35 HR based on age, but you keep moving the camera too quickly to properly inspect it. Skyline and GT-R have always been different brands. I think this is more powerful

*infinity* G37* skylines have RB's this has a VQ so its really a 4 door 350Z/370Z. their aight car for the price.
It’s a skyline 350GT available in 2 or 4 door .. the 2 door coupe had rear seats so it’s not really a 350z

Skyline's were luxury type cars before they became the Japanese Muscle type GTR. It's like comparing the Mitsubishi Lancer to the Lancer Evolution, one is a daily driver, the other is a beast rally and drift car.

Can be tuned out, it's meant to be limited to 112mph, or 180kph, but I could get my old one upto 124mph/200kph

BW drives stupidly years ago I could of bought an r34 gtr in bayside blue for 25k but didn't as it was a stretch financially at the time.

They also call the Infiniti Q50S Red Sport a skyline, at 400bhp I think it’s a bit more deserving. I did notice though this car has GTR paddles and peddles.
I have an infiniti q50s but mine is the 3.5 v6 hybrid with 364hp, it's an amazing car for the money.
@@ajamesa1982 The Q50S AWD hybrid is the most underrated car out there, it’s over engineered with its steer by wire and hybrid system and if I’m not mistaken the AWD version uses mostly GTR parts for its drivetrain and traction control system. They’re fussy with tyres, outer edges wear and wheel rotation periods are short, also they left the factory with substandard discs and pads, probably the only bad thing to be said for the car but with performance pads and grooved discs and decent asymmetric tyres I struggle to think of anything that comes close in its class. I’ve driven RS4’s, RS3’s, A45’s and CLA45’s hard and they don’t handle or put their power down as well. Of course fuel economy and reliability is a different class altogether.
@@jaysimpson6857 mine isn't the AWD version, it's RWD, so uses less fuel and is slightly quicker 0-60 (in the dry), when it's wet or slightly damp it spins easily with all the torque from the hybrid system, definitely a lot of car for the money compared to what you get for the same money from BMW, Mercedes or Audi.
@@ajamesa1982 I’ve not driven the RWD hybrid but I understand it struggles with the power. I’ve heard it has a tendency to wheel hop even in the dry so you have to master the throttle, unlike the AWD throttle which you just stamp on. I drove a brand new diesel Q50 and it felt nothing like the hybrid, the steering and suspension made it feel just like a Toyota Avensis. RWD, AWD and Diesel all look identical but they couldn’t be more different in the way they drive. I reckon if I drove yours it would feel much lighter than the AWD.
