    Good info. Rental market has definitely picked up. In my experience it is easier to find tenants and rates have increased to pre-pandemic levels. 👍

      There are lots of options Michael but still a very high vacancy rate in most buildings.

    If I rent just with minimum furniture I pay 1 month deposit. If the condo is really fully furnised with complete kitchen and AC and washing machine I agree with 2 months deposit. All depend of the value of the place you rent.

    Good walk-around
    Will look into older condos with more space.
    Saw some good deals with Airbnb.
    High electric for townhouse is a deal breaker .
    Living at townhouse brings more disturbances .
    People selling stuff, kids playing .
    Like condos no one bothering.

      Good points about townhouses Hong Island.
      That is why I shy away from them.
      Just agreed to keep the same place for the same rent going on
      3 years, so I am happy.

    Good video. That's a good place to stop your video and have a beer. Its been really hot for about 2 weeks now finally got a little rain last night.

      Yes, watched a little sports while cooling off. We had some dark clouds come over and it looked like rain today but they have passed on by.

    Manila condo developers were constructing 20 sqm condos in 2010. My guess is that developers outside of Manila have learned to increase profits by selling smaller but more condo units in same-size buildings.

    Always watching and always listening and always learning and enjoying.. Rod you are like Farmers insurance.. you know a thing or two about the Philippines because you have seen a thing or two..👍👍👌👌🐊🐊🤗😎🍺🍻... Hello from south Louisiana and I can tell you about the weather, that it is much hotter here in the summertime than it is there any time.. I live and was born and raised in a little town on the bayou between baton rouge and New Orleans.. we also get the same amount of rain as Cebu.. 👍 thanks 👍👌👌🤗😎🍺🍻

      LOL! Experience is a good thing Richard and I continue to learn. I ahe been through that part of Louisiana many years ago and understand the "hot and humid" that you get.

    When you say that an ATM or bank will only give you about 10k is that for the transaction or for the entire day?, Good walk I'm guessing morning traffic.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  ปีที่แล้ว

      First, consider the limit your bank puts on you for withdrawals in a day Tony and the time zone difference. I think many banks here just limit you to a certain amount per transaction. I had a friend make 5 transactions in a row at one ATM bank at 10k each for 50K pesos. Not sure if they all will.

    What is your thoughts on City Suites? I have a friend that lives in Solinea T1 and is interested in moving into those condos?
    I am in Padget Place. Found a month-to-month thru Rentpad. Found out about Rentpad from you! Thanks again!

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have mixed feelings about City Suites also called Ramos Tower Sylvester. I have lived there 2 years. I like the location and views from high up. They have raised the condo dues twice in 6 months per sq meter: 62 to 75 to 100, which is very high for an older building with no pool and a small gym. I have a good landlord or would move to a larger place. Crowne Regency owns and manages it and they seem to not want to be bothered by maintenance issues as condos facing south get water in the units when a strong south storm comes in. Here is a video: studio.th-cam.com/users/videoGjP-A4P6IS4/edit

    Quick question..if u rent those condos..how often do they increase the rent or if they ever do? Thank you

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would depend on your landlord Joel. I just convinced my landlord to keep the same rate for the 3rd year.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have read it was about $1500 Rich but there was an increase this years, so probably closer to $1650 for an average. Some make much less and some much more.

    You were approaching Horizon 101, was there last week. HSBC, I approached (Cebu) as I have an account In the UK. They want 3,000,000php deposit now to open an account That's £45.000 ($53.695.68) BDO etc only require 10,000php for a full account. The old HSBC account that some have was discontinued 2 years ago, so I was told In branch (Cebu).

    Another YTber said that gas was more expensive in the Phil than in the US. I don't see that on the signs. Way cheaper. What is the true story?

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think most gas is between 60-70/liter here Robert. 65 pesos/liter is about $4.28 USD/gallon I think. There is just under 4 liters in a gallon.

    My wife and i rarely give money away to strangers on the street. Our reasoning is, if you consistently do this, there is a good possibility of running out of money for your own needs and those of your immediate family. Beggars are not my problem, they were there before i went there and will be there after i die, LoL.

    I am coming there next week to retire. I am being forced to get the shot because It is almost impossible to get the anti-gen test in Ontario CA. Luckily I think, the CDC now says you only need one shot. This shows what I will do to escape the chaos of the US to get to happiness.

    I would really prefer seeing modest - even frugal - studios for the lower priced seekers out here ! -- Lots of talk about low cost living yet rent mostly for higher priced rentals ? - Makes no sense to be giving $300 & up if your trying to live on maybe $800 - $900 ? --- Wish someone would focus on some decent studios ?!? --- Frugal is necessary for many and desired by many others ! -- And it much wiser to save as much as possible especially on a low budget. --?--

      There is this new technology called the internet. On the internet there are these incredibly helpful sites like Air BnB, Agoda, and Travelocity that have listing and prices and availability. It’s amazing what you can find online if you actually took 2 minutes to search.
      Next time, don’t be an a$$ and listen to what he actually says in the video. He mentions a few places you can look and inquire. Price is negotiable most of the time like he mentioned in the video. Do some searching for yourself and you will be amazed at how easy it is to find information these days.

    • @MarinaLaroche
      @MarinaLaroche ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Another interesting internet technology: You can increase the speed of the video to 1.75 or even 2.0, yes really, using the nifty wheel at the bottom of the video screen. Works wonders.

      Pretty steep ...
      I don't focus on price, I'm a stickler on "value"
      Dollar price is one thing, value is totally different
