The combination of the art style and the puzzle-solving aspects are making this the first Zelda game that I really want to play.

Most of the Zelda games have a large amount of problem -solving aspects. You should give them a try
The engine you're seeing is from the remake of Link's Awakening, from 2019, on the Switch. You might want to buy that one, right now.

I have a new classic Zelda game to play with my parents watching just like I did when i was a kid. My dad is not a gamer but he would watch me play Zelda and help me with the puzzles. He did the same so many years later with Tears of the Kingdom, and now we will have this as well! Im in my late 30s so this hits me so hard! Lets GO!

It's awesome finally seeing Princess Zelda as a protagonist!!! They have been hinting at it since Skyward Sword and it's finallly heerrreee!! The creativity solving puzzles from the past 2 games and the artstyle from Link's Awakening?? Well job Nintendo
This is the best news EVERRRR!
I haven't seen anyone talking about the symbolism on display here. For so many of the previous games, the climax happens when the hero wins and Zelda is released from her magical prison. At the end. Now that we have Zelda as the protagonist, the adventure *starts* with her breaking free. When the crystal shatters and she lands on the ground, it's like the entire franchise groaned in relief as a weight was finally lifted, and the princess could finally be free.
I think I've come around on the Link's Awakening Art Style. I remember not caring for it at first, but I loved seeing it in this trailer. Also, It's just so fun and crazy to see a Zelda game that stars Zelda. This is definitely on my "Interested in Getting" list. It really felt like Nintendo wanted the Switch to go out with a bang instead of a whimper. ❤

Considering she was attacked by some guards and put in the castle prison at various points of the trailer, I’m assuming she is either temporarily exiled by some event or lost castle resources somehow

@@rickygforce4217 It shows her going around with her hood up at some point, which points to me that she might be going incognito for some reason. For example, if the King of Hyrule is still alive in this game, he would likely try to keep her safe with Link AWOL, if past games are any indication.
It looks like there are using the same item menu that was in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom for the Echoes.

game that isn't as intricate as tears of the kingdom, goes back to traditional zelda but still with systemic gameplay, and the most important thing, finally you can play as zelda!

I'm going to share my honest opinion. @3:40 regardless of how cool everything is, it was a let down that this was a girly game. It they named this game Link instead of Zelda, there would be no reason to have these emotions. I think we're totally in the right to be defensive, Zelda should remain Zelda, and this game I'm sure it will be a 10/10, but it should be named Link. When we Zelda fans want a Zelda game, it cannot be supplemented with this. This game needs to stand on its own, and I'm sure it could - however the fact remains that Zelda will be riding Link's coattails and the game will be called Zelda instead of Link.
This game needs to sell at least 10 million copies within the year with so many people going on about wanting traditional Zelda. Support the games you love.

Well this isn’t a “traditionalist” Zelda. It’s from a top-down perspective, shares the art style from Link’s Awakening, and the map is based on A Link to the Past.
Gameplay-wise, it’s more in line with TotK. Echo is like Ultra-Hand / Fuse. Rifts are like shrines. Player freedom and creativity is emphasized rather than a more linear/curated progression.
Not everyone who is critical of TotK is coming at it from the same angle. For me Nintendo just needed to give more TLC to the storytelling. Storytelling was really good in BotW even though it was simple, so we’re dealing with a blip rather than a full on crisis.
I also miss the dungeons. A lot.

The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom is the only announcement I am looking forward to. I wish Nintendo would put some real time strategy games on the switch. Switch online has none and there is no better choice than StarCraft because it was on the N64.
