I’m a retired RNP, Advanced Diabetic Specialist. I am so moved by your story and so sorry for your loss. I have no doubt your story will help many families. We can’t get through life without each other.
I am so sorry to you are going through such pain. My son was diagnosed at 12 also and although I spotted the signs two years later he stopped taking his insulin (denial, teenager and unfortunately lying to me) he had keto acidosis and was very sick but in our case in the U.K. it was dealt with. I to hope that the pain we go through can raise awareness for others. May God bless you both richly with a peace and true healing with your grief. Xxx
I’m so so sorry this happened to you☹️There is no loss like the loss of a child. I lost a daughter to congestive heart failure 11 years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you. 🫶🏻
I cannot believe what you went through in Mexico. Thank you for telling your story and warning us about the problems, control and lack of good medical care in Mexico. All about money. Crazy. We should not support countries like this with our money and booking vacations. It may be beautiful but it's also hell if you have a medical issue. I'll never go to Mexico, never. No desire.so sorry for your loss.
You will get a huge bill for medical services in the US too, if you don’t have insurance! When you go on vacation abroad you have to get travel medical insurance, otherwise this is what happens.
@@Bebs995🍃🪻😇🪻🍃I had a bad medical experience in Cancun Mexico in 1991, on my honeymoon. 🍃🪻🤍🪻🍃 will never travel anywhere in Mexico nor my extended family. Thanks to the UK for their medical care. And thanks for saying.
@@michellewilloby8448 This is why they come to America. Their medical system is obviously terrible. It's so sad! Medical care should be first on the last of what to improve on!! This story is so frustrating. What a nightmare!
At the very least Americans should be given a travel advisory by our federal government. Citizens and especially parents need to have enough information to be able to make informed decisions.
This is so horrific. My daughter is a perfusionist specifying in pediatrics, the team go on missions to other poor countries performing heart surgerys on children. They have gone to Mexico several times and they treated someone from our country like this. What horrible people to watch a child so sick and only care about money.
My heart breaks for you. What a nightmare! Unimaginable experience. Im so sorry that you had to lose your daughter this way. Thank you for sharing your story.
I am so sorry for your loss. I know about childhood diabetes, I had a Manger at a pizza place who’s daughter was very sick. She was growing up a lot and the mother did not want to take the child to the ER because of not having the money. I told them no money or not you need to take her. So they did and found out the it was diabetes. They we very thankful that they brought her to the ER.
Thank you for sharing your terrible story. I wish it would have ended differently for all of you! My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Catie was a beautiful girl, daughter, sister cousin, etc. Keep bringing awareness to this life giving message of early detection for childhood diabetes. God bless you both!❤
Holy mother of God, this is the worst story I’ve ever heard. I am so sorry, immeasurably sorry for what Catie and your family went through. When people criticize the medical system in the US, they need to hear your story.
I am so so sorry for your horror story. My son was diagnosed at 18 his senior year in highschool. His blood sugar was in the 800. The doctor told us he couldn't believe he was alive and especially able to talk to him. God bless you all! I will never visit mexico again! I have heard to many good kind people being horribly treated by them! Even at the resorts!
I can't think of a more helpless, desperate situation to face with your children! So very sorry for your loss of your sweet child. May Jesus heal your broken hearts.
I am so very deeply sorry for what you went through. Your story will warn others about medicine in Mexico but I wish, of course, that it never needed to. Sending you love.
I couldn’t speak as you were telling your story. It’s worse than the worst nightmare I could imagine. Thank you for so bravely and selflessly sharing to help others. The generosity and kindness of your friends had me in tears.
You dear people, I'm so sorry you went through such hell in Mexico. My heart breaks for you all. May you heal from the terrible pain, and be blessed with recurring loving memories of Catie. The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance towards you, and give you peace. Shalom 🎉❤🎉
This is so disgusting, how could anyone in medical field be this evil!for God's sake This is a human being!God bless this sweet young girl and all her family!😢❤
I’m just coming across your story and I’m terrified my grown daughter with her 2 babies ages 5 & 3 are going to Mexico with the girls Dad and his family in August and I have no say. They have told her they will be in a place that is safe and secure…. It’s Mexico anything can happen. I keep praying for Jesus to be with them and keep them safe. I’m heartbroken for you. I was diagnosed at 13 years old. I’m 57 now. Been in DKA twice - once from food poisoning and a second time was a side effect of medication (weird). May God hold you all close.
I am so sorry for your loss!😢 What a horrible tragedy, compounded by shocking medical "care". I also look forward to God's Kingdom as the solution to all our ails.🙏
My dad was a " fragile" diabetic who routinely ran blood sugars over 300+ or under 50 my entire life so so many times i remember begging my dad eat something sweet then protein if his sugar was super low thank god he never the country thank god he always had access to rx
Having lost both our oldest sons, we understand your pain, we pray for your wounded hearts and your healing. We also understand the fact that we DO need God, we DO need other people ~as Cody said. It's impossible for anyone to grasp what losing a child does to the soul, nor do we wish that others ever will. Outliving your child is an unnatural occurance, it throws our world completely out of balance, out of order. Once the initial, crushing waves of grief begin to subside- even a little- that is when God's hand can be felt, His peace can begin to soothe the rough edges of such devastation. Yet we are here, still in this heavy, human existence & must wade through the "new normal" people label our lives. The pain never leaves, we forever mourn the loss of a future with and for that child. There is no ther way but through Christ who strengthens us... even then, it's unstable and/or impossible for many to bear. Your generosity & thoughtfulness in wanting to share your daughter's life is a testament of many sorts. May every effort continue to be blessed, to be protected and multiplied~ in Jesus' name.Dan & Samantha Whitson

Thank you for sharing your story. I am very sorry for the loss of your daughter. Who would ever want to travel to Mexico or Cancun with such a terrible healthcare system. And such corrupt authority figures charging outrageous amounts of money. For the government there to allow this practice of medical people including the ambulance services to not treat really sick people or allow them to leave is a travesty. How could one enjoy being in that country with this happening to tourists.
