    Instruments like the Theremin, the Ondes Martenot and the Mixtur Trautonium, precursors to modern synthesisers have a quality to them that sets them apart.

    This modern semi-modular" Trautonium is a real work of art (and technology). I'd love to see an Ondes Martenot "reboot" in the same way.

    Thank you for a new Trautonium post! I enjoy all your work, but especially the Trautonium. I wish this was a longer piece, I love notes that slide around. I'm looking for an affordable slide theremin, ondes martenot, trautomnium, gadget to careen wildly around microtonally and drunkenly without hurting my fingers.. You are inspirational, thanks again, kudos, etc.

    Do you have an album of just this stuff? Just came from TikTok. You about to go Wendy Carlos on us or make some LogicPro packs? Either is good for me but we’re hungry for the Trautonium out here!

    this is such a beautiful sound and a wonderful playing! I was wondering how the interval changes are triggered for the oscillator, do you have pedals you're playing that are out of view?

    • @ludoWicmusic
      @ludoWicmusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes indeed. I use two pedals to switch between pre-selected subharmonic ranges. I can select three series of 4 subharmonic tones per keyboard. Great to play with!!

      Someone build this instrument for me (Jurgen Hiller). I took him two years...

  • @AfaroX8
    @AfaroX8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Can someone explain to me how this thing works?

    • @ludoWicmusic
      @ludoWicmusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's hard to explain, but here is a short version 🙂: It is a two-manual instrument, each with a string stretched across a metal plate. According to the position at which they are pressed against the contact rail beneath them, they control the frequency/pitch of the sound generators. By pressing the rail (with the string) you control the volume. And then the harmonics: one note can generate four subharmonics (the Sub-harmonic ‘mixture’ technique basically used un-natural low frequency harmonics to modulate a sawtooth signal creating complex harmonic ‘mixtures’). The instrument can be controlled with foot pedals, thereby selecting three different sets of subharmonics. So this way you can create three different chords with one note (by pressing the pedals)

    • @AfaroX8
      @AfaroX8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ludoWicmusic Wow! Sounds very interesting and complicated, but i get the general idea, thanks for the explanation. Have a nice day!
      P.S I can't wait to hear your wonderful OST in Katana Zero DLC.
