  • Week 5 of trying to use up items from fridge, freezer, and pantry. I decided on a $75 per week grocery budget, but didn't use all of that. Four people at home this week and we eat a mostly vegetarian diet. I don't follow many recipes, but hope there are some inspiration/ideas in this video for you! I did clean up the subtitles if you like to use those. Thanks for watching!*

I am not a health professional, so some of these meals may be terribly unhealthy for you. Please be safe and follow manufacturer’s instructions, professional recipes, safe food prep and storage practices, and do your own research (what I do may not be the correct thing to do!). Also, sometimes the prices, ingredients, best by dates, 'product of' locations, and other details are shared, but those won’t be the same at all locations, change over time, or be inaccurate (and I may say the wrong thing). Please check your labels as they may be different.

I’ve been wanting to make some granola. I haven’t made it for years! I like your idea of mixing it up in the KitchenAid. I like to also add sunflower seeds, sesame seed, raisins, coconut, molasses and nuts to mine. I’ve always been a recipe follower 😂 I do make substitutions now where needed. I would use the cookbook, More-With-Less by the Mennonites. I always enjoy your videos! Thank you!

I really like the idea of adding molasses. I love that flavor, but never thought about it for granola. Thank you for the comment!

C needs to be added after removing the dish from the heat. If it's heated too much or too abruptly, it will seperate and turn into an oily mess with clumps of rubbery milk solids.

That’s sounds like my problem exactly! thanks!

@HomebodyRundown Before I learned about that, I would wonder why half the time I made soups with cheese, our spoons, teeth, and bowls would get coated with rubbery cheese and it tasted more greasy than creamy. Of course, I tend to be a bit impatient in the kitchen, so it still happens now and then, but at least I know why now.

@HomebodyRundown Also, I'm not sure why I wrote C instead of cheese in my original comment. It seems that you figured out what I meant to say, though.

You did a great job this week period there's only two of us and I would still need to go to the store to get milk period costco sells a balsamic glaze for around five bucks You can use a turned over cookie sheet as a pizza peel

thank you for the kind comment! It’s so good to know about the Costco balsamic glaze. I think that would definitely be worth five dollars😂

I lived in Ontario, Canada for 8 years, 62 miles from Port Huron. I would get my mail-in Port Huron, and go to target and Kroger there, and I always noticed it was much sunnier in Michigan than it was in Ontario super depressing for me being from California..

Yep, I’m pretty sure this amount of cloud cover is unusual for us at least down here in southern Michigan!
