Eli showed the youngster how it's done. By the time the main came along the track had changed. Eli was able to keep the same speed on a chewed up track chase could not it's all about the main !!! Eli is the man !!!!
I think Eli totally play chase.. eli didn't want to show chase anything iand let him by in the heat.. ans eli could see sexton lines.. look for more of that this season.. eli is a wise old racer dont under estimate is race craft.
Eli looked to ride the most strategic I’ve ever seen in Houston as he looked to study Chase in the heat like Carmichael and Stew talked about it’s better to chase ( no pun intended) as you can study especially in the heat race where it’s real time data. Chase on the other hand rode smart as last year Chase would’ve went outside and crashed trying to catch Eli whereas Houston was point racing midway through the main. As far as Tampa I was at the 2020 race and that sand caught ALOT of riders off guard and I’ll never forget sitting standing by the pirate ship and seeing Vince stuck in his bike in the sand
No one talked about Sexton changing up his line in the main event on the rhythm section after the over/under. In the heat race he was rolling the single, jumping the back side of the table then triple, double (as others were) then he started rolling the single, jumping to the top of the table, single out, triple, single and it was visibly slower.
@@tonyornelas9374 Obviously, but the line he was taking after the over/under was very obviously slower than the line Tomac and everyone else was taking. He was taking it in the heat race too when he was setting the track on fire.
JS7 said in his pod cast that Eli did not pick up the pace according to lap times. He holeshot the main and stayed up front with strong steady laps. Chase is who slowed down.
On James Stewarts Pod Cast he said Eli did not pick up the pace to match Chase. The lap times prove it. Eli never got close to what Chase pulled in the heats. He said Eli just hole shot the main and that got into Chases head for some reason. Chase made a couple mistakes where Eli was dialed.
The thing is Chase had the speed to cover Tomac when the track was smooth. But Tomac had him covered when it got rough. Seems like Chase was just a little hesitant Road safe to finish second
Tomac didn't need to push it in the heat, why take chances? When Sexton passed him, he just let him go. if Sexton wants to push it in the heat for no reason and chance getting hurt? Tomac was right to just let him hang it out all he wants. What happens in the main is what matters.
Chase got slower, Eli never got faster if you look at the lap times. So Chase didn't show to much of his cards, he just wasn't riding like he was earlier in the night. Chase got into the 50's in lap times. Eli all night long never dropped under 52. Chase just needed to step up, the sand section killed him in the main for some reason.
It was a load of shit by the sounds of it he just didn't go to "tech" after the race can you blame him dude was tripping balls and made that evident probably rode straight to the truck and forgot about it
We need to build helmets with air bladder shock technology. We need to lose the ego and go with bigger shells like football has done. Brain injuries are the #1 career ending affliction and it needs to be addressed. I run a 6D and I want more cause I need to ride forever and a bell ringer is part of the sport. In fact ecto-skeletal equipment is still waiting in staging. Help match these crazy tracks with super protective equipment. There's money for #1 in everything
Nice job Josh!, keep it up and Feld is going to want you doing color commentary during the races! But I'd pass on that, long term you'll do way better with MXA.
Bro... Chase lost by taking the inside through the sand even seeing Eli take and gain the second per lap on him... after Chase would catch him throughout the rest of the lap... about 7 laps of that at least... and that was the race. I can't understand how a pro can't ride through sand? They put sand on most sx tracks. I'm former 125A FL State Champ and it's as simple as float your front end and stay on the gas... That's why Chase lost. And if he makes more bad decisions in the next few rounds, Eli will be checking out on this series. I started watching Deegan's story during 2021 Loretta Lynn's Super Mini against Noah Viney. I follow both riders as much as the sport as a whole... and they've both made tremendous progress. Noah had a few minor injuries, but is on the bike again and rippin. Haiden rode a penominal race at Houston! I couldn't be more stoked to see his journey and his hard work pay off! No matter his dad and all his support, the kid does his part and I think he's a good kid with a good heart! I won't be surprised to see Haiden rip a podium or even win! ✌😎
@@thomaswayneward yeah... rode a bit frustrated last few laps for sure. These are all things at his level he needs to deal with quick before Tomac checks out in the series points.✌😎
NO chase did not show his hand Eli knows the main is important an thats where hes saves his Ace game.....i wouldnt say.....his game...But know Chase did good by winning a heat race...it was important to prove to himself that he had speed to do it....
It's stupid to ride hot laps the entire heat race, he showed everything he had, Tomac knew he was beat in the heat race backed off and got totally smoked, if Sexton would gain about 10 to 15 lbs the sand would not be a problem he better ride sand all week because the Tampa sand section is huge.
4:06 "once the pressure was on, he really didn't crack... until he crashed with 4 laps to go". Guy, do you know what a contradiction is? Obviously not! Because almost everything you say is just that! How can you say someone didn't crack under pressure, when dude lost his podium spot from cracking... o... sorry... crashing... LMFFFAAAOOO
Eli is respectable to everyone who gives respect. Chase and him had the most epic outdoor battles ever in history, he isnt about to cheapshot Eli, he is better than that.
5:11 "it's hard to be authentic when you're on the podium"?... So, it's hard for you to tell the truth because a camera and reporter is in your face? Sounds like a truthful you problem. That just takes some soul searching to fix LMFFFAAAOOO
Lack of experience in SX I would say. He's not sure to this kind of tight racing. Insane reaction by Hunter though. No idea how he sensed this because Vialle didn't really go to the left before the jump, he was completely straight before he scrubbed it
Having Peacock as the primary source for watching an SX national does completely suck. Feld and the Coombs mafia continue to extract as much $$$ as they can from American SX/MX fans...leaving the general public out of the loop regarding viewership of our sport. Just like his lame Dad, DC appears even more greedy than his forebear.
winning the heat race and fastest lap in a heat race gets first gate pick.. pretty simple... Chase knew that.... Also like Ricky said live on the air , If it was him he would definatly make the pass and win the heat race to send a message.... I am surprised this is even a topic...
That sand section in Tampa that year with the rollers was probably the coolest one yet. Looks like a similar one this season. Awesome
Agree!
Can't wait deegan😎

Eli said in the press event that he didn't have it in the heat lol, chase is fast but eli has crazy awesome racecraft
@@MrSuperflydude He totally jeti mind tricked him. Lol
That's what I said. The way Tomac let him by in the heat. He didn't even try to block him. I could tell he was watching him after that.
It's clear Sexton is the future of the sport ... He is paying his dues . To me it's about the starts .
100%

Sexton smoked everyone all day long and then ET3 just beats him straight up. The dude is unreal
The dude iS unreaL!✌😎
I think it's cool to have the sand at Tampa
You have the best report of super cross races. Enjoy your videos.
Tom V is also a great young man , its good to the excitement and respectful personality .glad he jumped the pond.
Thanks for the preview, we'll be at the race Saturday night. Let go ET3.

Josh; as always excellent content and very interesting view points. MXA has had my attention ever since issue 1 volume 1. Please keep it up.
Josh...great commentary on Tampa, great up the good work.
Sand section is gunna be sick
IM GOING TO TAMPA 🤙
The rain better go away
Chase did the right move in the heat race. You never hold back while racing!!
The white sand should deliver some cool photo-shots
Josh didn’t mention anything about his younger brother Michael. Unexpected performance ?
Did he even race? Haha!

I’m on board with these MXA videos. Josh is great. I’m a big fan of both Mosiman Brothers. Keep it up.
Great show Josh, dig your insight!

I believe, Eli just was happy to cruise second placeto the main then he would drop all the cards on the table for the main.

Chase is up to 2 overall wins after only 3 years, watch out Eli!
@2216sammy If he keeps it up at this rate, he will catch up to Eli's win total in about 50 years!

@C.Nash yeah in the main
Going out on a limb and predicting #51 for a podium( 3rd ) finish because he's a beast in the sand. He needs to be top 5 on holeshot to pull 3rd
What did everybody think about Eli brushing his family??😂😂😂 His wife looked so excited and wanted a big hug and he was like “Meh” 😂😂😂😂
They'll be fine he doesent mean harm
Hahahaha!! Mad MAX ANSTIE!
Whats up with the Anstie big bore saga? Anybody know?
Maybe someone who’s been on that team knows something…cough cough Jordan Smith, lol
